Steps for Students is just around the corner! Did
you know that 100% of funds raised in the name of
OLMC School will come directly back to our

supports our fundraising goal, but also benefits our
students! Steps for Students raises awareness of
Catholic education and provides much needed
resources and scholarships for Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel School. This day of family fun includes a 5k
USA Track and Field Association sanctioned race!

thoughts

Evangelii Gaudium. Come and be inspired to make
the New Evangelization a part of your daily
walk. “Instead of seeming to impose new
obligations, Christians should appear as people
who wish to share their joy, who point to a horizon
of beauty and who invite others to a delicious
banquet.” Evangelii Gaudium 15. Even though the
New Evangelization has been stirring for decades,
it’s Pope Francis’ words in the Apostolic
Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, that are giving it
new vigor.

The Second Thursday Parents Meeting will be on
Thursday, February 13 at 8:00 PM in the Parish
Hall. Information on February/March schedule,
February fundraiser, Retreat information will be
discussed. If the parents are not able to attend, the
sponsor may substitute. Please do not bring small

Spaghetti Fundraiser Thank You!
The Spaghetti Fundraiser was a success thanks to
the support of the entire parish community. Special
appreciation to the parent volunteers and
entertainment provided by DJ Joe Lopez. We look
forward to seeing you on Sunday, February 23rd,
for our next Spaghetti Fundraiser.

La Segunda Reunión de Padres será el Jueves 13 de Febrero a
las 8:00 PM en el Salón Parroquial. Se discutirá la información
sobre el horario de Febrero / Marzo, la recaudación de fondos
de Febrero y la información sobre el retiro espiritual. Si los
padres no pueden asistir, pueden enviar a los padrinos en su

La recaudación de fondos por medio de la venta de espaguetis
fue un gran éxito gracias al apoyo de toda la comunidad

Catholic Schools Week Success!
It's hard to believe that it's already 2014! Last
week was Catholic Schools Week, and despite
having to cancel school on
Tuesday due to weather, we
had a great week of events
and celebration!
One big
focus of Catholic Schools
Week is our 2014-15 school
enrollment. Now is the time
to begin considering our
parish school for your
children, grandchildren, and
others who would benefit
from
a
Catholic
education. As of this week,
enrollment is open to new
families who may apply for
scholarships and admission to
the school!
Admission and scholarship
applications are available now for the 2014-15
school year, and we encourage all parents to begin
now in making these important plans for your
children. Financial Assistance is available through
archdiocesan
resources
and
parish
scholarships. The earlier you apply, the more likely
assistance will be available! This week only,
registration is discounted to just $150! This will
help families save some money and help the school
to plan and prepare for the coming school year. We
already have some classes that are full. Please

fue la Semana de las Escuelas Católicas, y a pesar de haber
tenido que cancelar las clases el
Martes debido al mal tiempo,
tuvimos una gran semana de
eventos y celebraciones! Un
punto de atención importante en
esta Semana de las Escuelas
Católicas es nuestra matrícula
escolar para el año 2014-2015.
Ahora es el momento de
empezar a considerar nuestra
escuela parroquial para sus hijos,
nietos y otras personas que se
beneficiarían de una educación
católica. A partir de esta semana,
la inscripción está abierta para
nuevas familias las cuales
pueden solicitar las becas y la admisión a la escuela! Las
solicitudes de admisión y de becas están disponibles desde
ahora para el año escolar 2014-2015, y animamos a todos los
padres a comenzar a hacer desde ya estos importantes planes
para sus hijos. La asistencia financiera está disponible a
través de recursos provenientes de la arquidiócesis y de becas
provenientes de la parroquia. Cuanto antes se solicite, la

Donation of Dictionaries
This past week, Mrs. Martin's 3rd
Grade class at Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel School received a generous
donation of dictionaries from the
Harrisburg Rotary Club.
This
annual tradition helps to provide
each 3rd grader with his or her own
personal dictionary to use in class or
at home Our students are very
thankful for the generous donation
and the ongoing support for the
educational
program
at
our
school.
