WORDS
Why, When, and How They Matter!

Words are vitally important to the development of language and literacy in very young
children. Join us at this informative, interactive and fun workshop to learn more about WORDS
from an experienced educator and child care center director.
Why: Why are words so important? Learn more about the importance of exposing young
children to rich language and conversation.
When: When does exposure to words start to matter? How many words should children hear
every day and in what format? Does it matter what words they hear?
How: How can children hear more words, and eventually use more words? Learn how to use
words with young children, even before they can talk or know what words are. Learn
strategies for incorporating many more spoken and written words into your classroom every
day.

niños pequeños. Acompáñenos en este taller informativo, interactivo, y divertido para
aprender más sobre las PALABRAS, de una educadora experimentada y directora de un centro
de cuidado de niños.
Por qué: ¿Por qué son tan importantes las palabras? Aprenda más sobre la importancia de
exponer a los niños pequeños a lenguaje y conversación de alta riqueza.
Cuándo: ¿Cuándo comienza a importar la exposición a las palabras? ¿Cuántas palabras deben
escuchar los niños todos los días? ¿En qué formato? ¿Importa cuáles palabras escuchan?
Cómo: ¿Cómo pueden los niños escuchar más palabras y eventualmente usar más palabras?
Aprenda cómo usar palabras con los niños pequeños, incluso antes de que hablen o sepan lo
que son las palabras. Aprenda estrategias para incorporar muchas más palabras habladas y
escritas en su sala de clase todos los días.
