January 18, 2015 - St. Joseph Parish
January 18, 2015
2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Prayer to the Holy Family
1883-2015
Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
in you we contemplate
the splendor of true love,
to you we turn with trust.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
Grant that our families too
may be places of communion
and prayer,
authentic schools of the
Gospel
and small domestic churches.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
may families never again
Experience violence, rejection
and division:
may all who have been hurt or
scandalized
find
ready
comfort and healing.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
make us once more mindful of
the sacredness and
inviolability of the family, and
its beauty in God’s plan.

What’s in your heart?
There are all kinds of calls going on in the readings today—and all kinds of people
who respond in different ways. Sometimes people are being called clearly,
sometimes not. In one case God is doing the calling; in another, someone is calling
on God’s behalf. And in between the callers and receivers are people like you—
intermediaries—who either act as a clear conduit or as a telephone operator helping
customer with a call.

FROM THE
PASTOR...
My Dear Parish Family,
Welcome back to Ordinary Time in our Church’s
calendar. We made it through the Christmas season
and now we get to that time when we count all the
Sundays by number – ordinal numbers. Hence, we
say Ordinary Time. Make sure to come out and hear
Fr. Garry as he takes on a biblical tour through
Ordinary Time, highlighting what we will be hearing
throughout this season. Join Father Garry
Wednesday, January 21 at 7:00pm in the Church.
As you are reading this, know that I am thinking
of you (I can’t help myself!)as I take this time away.
I am with a couple close friends who are allowing
me to just be myself and not have to “be on.” Last
weekend, many of you asked me how I was doing. I
guess the most accurate answer is that I am sorting
things out. Most of the time, we priests are the
ones that good folks turn to with their questions,
concerns, hurts and joys. Sometimes we are able to
provide direction, answers, or just a shoulder to lean
on. Now, for me, I have to take some time so that I
can be for you. But first, there’s still a little more
sorting to do.
I shall be back, if all goes as planned, by next
weekend. Please keep me in your prayers. I have a
very grateful heart for all your many kindnesses.
Thank you and God bless you.
Fr Scott

HORARIO DE MISAS
MENSAJE DEL
PASTOR …
oraciones. Mi corazón está lleno de agradecimiento. Mil
gracias y Dios los bendiga.
Fr. Scott
