LA CONFESION
1. ¿Qué es la Penitencia?

La Penitencia o Confesión es el sacramento por el cual se perdonan todos los
pecados cometidos después del Bautismo.
The Confession or Reconciliation is the
sacrament through which we are forgiven of all sins committed after our Baptism.

Nota para los papas: Recuerden que este examen de conciencia es para ayudar a sus hijos a recordar los
pecados que han cometido. Verán al leer Uds. que en este examen hay preguntas que no se aplican a niños de
7 años, pero si pueden llegar a aplicarse a jovencitos de 13 o 14 años.
Por favor ayuden a sus hijos a hacer el examen, leyéndoselos Uds. y explicándoles a ellos.
Note for parents: Let us remembers that this guide to examine our conscience is a tool to help your child
to remember their sins. You will notice that among the many question there are some that are NOT applicable to little children but ARE applicable to teenagers.
So please parents, help your children to examine their conscience by reading yourself to them
and explaining them the meaning of these questions.

He vivido como si de verdad amara a Dios?
Cuanto tiempo gasto con Dios en mi vida?
He hablado con El elevando mi corazón en la oración?
He creído en Dios escuchando su Palabra que esta en la Biblia y me enseña la Iglesia?
He tratado de aumentar la fe poniéndome en contacto con la Divina Palabra?
He esperado en Dios en las dificultades?
He adorado a Dios asistiendo a la Misa cada Domingo?
He trabajo el Domingo, dial del Señor, sin necesidad?
He jurado por el nombre de Dios en vano?
He cumplido mis promesas?
He pronunciado palabras irreverentes contra Dios, sus santos, su Iglesia o sus Ministros?
He practicado supersticiones consultando adivinas, santeros o espiritistas?
He contribuido según mis posibilidades a mantener económicamente la Iglesia?
He hecho penitencia especialmente los días señalados por la Iglesia?
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all yours souls, and with all your
mind” (Matt 22,37)
Have I lived as if I really loved God?
How much time do I devote to God in my daily life?
Do I talk to Him, lifting my heart in prayer?
Do I believe in God – listen to His Word in the Scripture and the teachings of the
Church?
Have I tried to increase my faith – placing myself in contact with His Divine Word?
Do I hope in God – even in the middle of difficulties?
Do I adore God by assisting at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation?
Have I worked unnecessarily on Sundays, the Lord’s Day?
Have I taken the name of God in vain?
Have I fulfilled my promises?
Have I used irreverent words against God, the Saints, the Church or its Ministers?
Have I practiced superstitious rites, consulted Palm Readers, Spiritualists or be involved in Santeria?
Do I contribute to the support of the Church according to my income?
Have I observed Penance and Fasting on the prescribed days?

He consentido en pensamientos, deseos o conversaciones deshonestas?
He visto o participado en espectáculos deshonestos en TV, cable, Internet, etc.?
He hecho alguna acción impura o deshonesta? Solo? Con otra persona
He robado?
Do I live my life really trying to love my neighbor?
Do I deal with my neighbor as I would like others to deal with me?
Have I obeyed my parents, respected them and taken care of them?
Do I respect my superiors at work with the proper humility?
Have I fulfilled my duties as father, mother, manager, student, etc?
Have I insulted others by my words and deeds?
Do I hate anyone?
Have I given a bad example?
Have I cursed others or wished they were dead?
Have I fought with or insulted others?
Do I have control of my temper?
Do I abuse alcohol or drugs, or have I given them to others?
Have I considered suicide or taken another’s life – participated in an abortion?
Do I enjoy dishonest conversations, thoughts, or desires?
Have I gone to see X rated movies on TV, cable, internet, etc?
Have I committed any illicit sexual action with myself? With others?
Have I stolen anyone’s property, money, jewelry, etc?
