Campus Information
Clowns and Safety on Our Campus
At YES Prep Southwest, student safety is one of our most important concerns and we want to reiterate our commitment to ensuring that ALL of
our students are safe during the time they are at school. Recently, there have been reports of clowns appearing at schools throughout the Houston area. Yesterday at our campus there were two separate incidents in which a person in a clown-like mask were seen outside of campus by
students. In response to these incidents, we notified both HPD and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office who dispatched officers to the school to
sweep the area and they reported back that the area was clear and safe for the students. In addition, we are ensuring that all gates other than
the main entrance remain locked during the school day and that we will fully investigate all threats against our school or students.
We are doing everything we can to keep our campuses safe including monitoring of social media, and working with our parents and students to
make sure that anything that is suspicious or threatening is reported. In their investigations, HPD is confident that most of this behavior is being
caused by people perpetuating this hoax on social media. In order to help us keep our campus as a safe space, we ask that you, as parents, help
keep a safe environment at school for our children by encouraging them not to get involved in behavior on social media that can cause panic or
harm to others. In the coming days, I ask that you also become part of the conversation by reassuring your child that all of us together-- parents,
teachers, principals and police – are always working to keep them safe. We also ask that you encourage them to not get involved in behavior that
causes harm to others.
Wallstreet and Detention Calls Home
As you know, the school should inform parents if their child has to stay after school that day for Wall Street or Detention. This has
caused a tight turnaround for some parents who get the call when they are on the way to school or at school. From now on we are
moving this time up to allow parents more time to make arrangements. Any Wall Streets or detentions earned after 2:15 will be
served the following day. You should expect an automatic call by 2:30. Please reach out to Mr. Espinoza at (713) 208-4085 if you
have questions or concerns.

 No School on Monday, October 10, 2016.
Lunch Notification Letters will be sent out this next week. Please bring the letter to the front office if you have nay questions in
regards to your balace and status of your student. You can also email [email protected] with any concerns.

En YES Prep Southwest, la seguridad de los estudiantes es una de nuestras preocupaciones más importantes y queremos reiterar nuestro compromiso de asegurar que todos nuestros estudiantes son seguros durante el tiempo que están en la escuela. Recientemente, hemos recibido
informes de payasos que aparecen en algunas escuelas del área de Houston. Ayer en nuestro campus hubo dos incidentes separados en los que
una persona en una máscara de payaso se ve fuera del campus por los estudiantes. En respuesta a estos incidentes, notificamos tanto HPD y la
Oficina del Sheriff del condado de Harris, que envió agentes a la escuela para barrer el área y se informó que la zona era claro y seguro para los
estudiantes. Además, estamos asegurando que todas las puertas que no sean la entrada principal permanecen cerradas durante el día escolar y
que nos van a investigar a fondo todas las amenazas contra nuestra escuela o estudiantes.
