April 24th: Fifth Sunday of Easter
FROM THE PASTOR…
Dear Parishioners,
With only one week left in April, we are fast approaching that time of the year when spiritual,
sacramental and academic moments seem to arrive relentlessly.
This weekend, our Confirmation candidates (with their parents and sponsors) will have their
preparatory retreat day. This event will be with and at Queen of Angels parish, as will be the May
20th Confirmation ceremony, with Bishop Di Marzio officiating.
Our First Communions will be at various Masses here on Sunday, May 22nd, with the rehearsals on the day before. Those First Communion Masses will conclude with the May crowning of
the Blessed Mother statue in the parking lot.
On May 19th, our three parish candidates in the Pastoral Formation program of the diocesan
School of Evangelization will be graduating after three years of study and formation. More about this
in an upcoming bulletin.
On Tuesday, May 24th, Sister Ave Clark, O.P., of Heart to Heart ministry, returns to us for another mini-brunch retreat: 9:00 am Mass in church, followed by the food and presentation in the rectory basement until about 11:30 am.
On Saturday evening, May 28th, there will be a Spanish ―coronación‖ (May crowning) in
church at 6:00 pm. There will be a children’s retreat here in Spanish on Saturday, July 9th.
Our Korean parishioners continue their 25th Anniversary celebrations with a religious vocals
concert by the Pilgrim Ensemble today in church at 3:00 pm. On Sunday, June 5th, around 5 pm,
their choir and members will present their own Anniversary concert. All parishioners are invited to
both these events.
Farther into the summer, July 24th will mark the appeal of the visiting missionaries, this year
Sisters with a ―medical‖ ministry. That same day, we will have our annual ―Lord of Pardon‖ Mass and
feast.
Add in some weddings, Quinceañeras, Sweet 16 Masses, and baptisms and the ―plate‖ of
ministry here remains quite full and, hopefully, nourishing.

MISA FAMILIAR
Domingo 8 de mayo
(Dia de las Madres)
12:30 pm

WORDS TO AGE BY
Now that I’m older, here’s what I’ve discovered…













I started with nothing, and I still have most of it.
My wild oats have turned into prunes and bran.
I finally got my head together; now my body is falling apart.
Funny, I don’t remember being absent minded…
All reports are in; life is now officially unfair.
Funny, I don’t remember being absent minded…
If all is not lost, where is it?
It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser.
Some days you’re the dog, some days you’re the hydrant.
I wish the buck stopped here; I could sure use a few.
It’s not hard to meet expenses, they’re everywhere.
The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.
These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter; I go somewhere to get something, then ask myself
―What am I here after?‖.
