Goods and services will be auctioned for the purpose of benefiting our parish. Become a part of our October St. Lucie Auction. Send a sentiment (100 characters including spaces) for $10. Your participation will allow us to print a program booklet offsetting the cost to our parish. Print clearly your information below and attach your payment (checks may be made payable to St. Lucie Catholic Church). Place your information and payment in any offertory basket. Why present a parish auction? A fundraiser would greatly help to pay some unexpected bills. Like a home, our parish buildings and equipment incur unexpected costs: pipes break, equipment malfunctions, replacement costs increase with time and maintenance continues to rise. It would be nice to have a bit of a safety net but this becomes increasingly more difficult with a faltering economy. A new, fun-filled event coupled with dance and good food invites Christian fellowship and relaxation. We plan and set the evening. You commit to attend. It is a win-win event! Saturday, October 26, 2013 Parish Auction and Dinner-Dance R.C.I.A., which stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a process through which men and women prepare for Baptism, First Communion, and/or Confirmation. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at Mass. Participants in the RCIA are known as catechumens. They undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. The RCIA process follows the ancient practice of the Church and was restored by the Second Vatican Council as the normal way adults prepare for baptism. If you are an adult with a desire to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and/or Confirmation, please consider joining the RCIA program. Classes begin in September and meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center Library. Contact Andrea Draper at 878-1215 for further information. Since the early 1960s, when Saint Lucie Parish was established, women gathered together to assist in ministering to the needs of the Church. Women throughout Florida and the United States did the same thing as parishes were established. As time progressed, women became involved and wanted to know more about their religion and what they could do to make a difference in society. ______________________________________________ Last Name First Name Middle Initial Address _______________________________________ City _____________________ State ________ Zip _______ Home Phone __________________________ In the early part of the century, the National Council of Catholic Women was formed; each state being divided into dioceses; each diocese being comprised of parish affiliations.
