JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY
Masses
It is with great sadness that I bid farewell to my
beloved community of St. Rita. I take you with me by
means of the roses on my coat of arms. Know that I am deeply
appreciative of all that you have done and been for me.
I am happy to make known, however, that I have received
permission from Bishop Greg Kelly, Apostolic Administrator of the
Diocese of Dallas, to celebrate the Confirmation Mass for our St.
Rita youth Candidates for Confirmation. The Confirmation will
take place at noon on Saturday, December 10th. Because I will be
in town and on the St. Rita campus that day already, the
administration of the parish has arranged for me to celebrate the
5:30 Mass at St. Rita that same Saturday. Following that Mass
there will be a reception in the Parish Dining Hall providing us
with an opportunity to celebrate God’s mysterious plan as it has
unfolded in my life and continues to unfold in the life of St. Rita
Catholic Community. I hope to see many of you there on
Saturday evening, December 10!
Now I turn the reins of parish administration over to Fr. Joshua
Whitfield. Be good to him and to Fr. Steve Antes. They are
faithful and loving servants and beloved brothers to me.

SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
ADULT FAITH FORMATION
David and the Psalms
THURSDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY
The Holy Spirit: Lord and Giver of Life
King David is perhaps the most vivid figure in the Old Testament.
Although he was clearly favored by God, he was a farͲfromͲperfect
human being. This study looks at all the twists and turns of his long
life ͲͲ fascinaJng in themselves but also important for the expectaJons
they raised about his descendant, the Messiah. David is also
tradiJonally the author of many of the Psalms. This study puts these
great prayers and poems into the context of David's life.
Revelation about the Holy Spirit grew gradually during Old Testament times Ͳ
Ͳ then exploded in the wake of Jesus' Resurrection and Pentecost. We will
look at all the major Biblical texts as they unfolded in time to see what they
teach about the Third Person of the Holy Trinity.

Epic: A Journey Through Church History
by Steve Weidenkopf
The Saint Rita Men’s Christian Leadership Group is studying
Epic: A Journey Through Church History. Our ministry provides an
environment for men to build relationships and discuss how our
Catholic faith impacts our roles as husbands, fathers, and leaders in
the community.
by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
“Cheap grace is the deadly enemy of our Church.
We are fighting today for costly grace.”
Join us this fall on the first and third Tuesdays of every month as we explore
this classic and prophetic text from Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Lutheran
theologian killed by the Nazis. This book, The Cost of Discipleship, remains a
classic of contemporary Christian reflection for both Catholics and
Protestants. How can we remain faithful in the modern world? How can we
keep from becoming soft, easy Christians in an increasingly hostile world?
Bonhoeffer helps us think about this with a martyr’s wisdom. Join us for this
readable and enlivening engagement with one of the greatest theological
minds of the twentieth century.

How to Share and Defend Your Faith with Anyone
The name of the course says it all. This is basic training in
handsͲon evangelism using a nonͲconfrontaJonal approach that invites
people to enter into conversaJon about Jesus and the Church He
founded. We want to strengthen the faith of pracJcing Catholics, bring
back into the Faith fallenͲaway Catholics, and to clear up
misconcepJons about the Faith held by nonͲCatholics. Through this
training the students will learn how to plant seeds of faith and then
leave it up to God to make the seeds grow. The goal is not to win
arguments, but to share the love of Jesus with a hurJng culture that is
seeking truth. The course will focus on the real world what, why, and
how of evangelism and will include several actual evangelism "field
trip" opportuniJes. Be an RCIA Sponsor!
Being a companion for individuals exploring the Catholic
Church is a sacred ministry. It’s demanding but eternally
rewarding. We need strong men and women who are willing
to share their faith and experiences with others. You don’t
need to be a theologian to be an RCIA sponsor! You just need
to have a heart for others and for the Church. God is calling
some of our community to be RCIA sponsors this year. Is he
calling you? If you’re interested in being a sponsor, contact

Espero ver a
