Message from the Director
Happy Spring! Our Reading Challenge
starts this month. Be sure to write
down each book that you read at home
with your child. We will add it to the
growing caterpillar that runs through
the hallway. Reading books is the best
way to help your child grow and
develop language and literacy skills that
will help them throughout their lives.
When we read books that have science
and math concepts like “The Tiny Seed”
and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by
Eric Carle our children are learning
important concepts as well. Let’s all
enjoy the beautiful Spring weather by
playing and exploring outside!

Baby Teeth Do Matter!
Teaching good oral hygiene habits early can lead to
a lifelong healthy smile. When your child’s teeth
begin to come in, brush them gently with a child’s
size toothbrush and water.
For children between the ages of 2 and 6, brush
teeth with a pea-sized amount of fluoride
toothpaste. Spit out toothpaste. Ask your child’s
pediatric dentist or physician if you are considering
using fluoride toothpaste before age 2. Don’t
forget to brush the tongue and floss between teeth

Problem-solving Skills
Children can be taught problem-solving skills
during the regular course of each day through
modeling, coaching and adult assistance. Try these
4 easy steps with your child.
1) Identify problem
2) Brainstorm solutions
3) Discuss fairness & effectiveness of solution.
4) Try the solution.
Be sure to check back in with the child to make
sure the solution has worked.

Feliz Primavera! Nuestro desafío de
lectura empieza este mes. Asegúrese de
anotar cada libro que usted lea en casa
con su(s) hijo(s) y nosotros lo
añadiremos a la oruguita que está
creciendo en el pasillo. Leer libros es la
mejor manera de ayudar a su hijo(a) a
crecer y a desarrollar sus habilidades de
lenguage y literatura que le ayudarán a
través de toda su vida. Después, cuando
leemos libros sobre conceptos de ciencia
y Matemáticas como “La Semilla
Pequeñita” y “La Orugita Hambrienta” de
Eric Carle nuestros niños aprenden otros
conceptos importantes. Vamos a disfrutar
del hermoso Clima de Primavera jugando
y explorando afuera!

Notas sobre Salud
Los Dientes de los Bebés son Importantes!
Establecer buenos hábitos de higiene bucal a
temprana edad, puede ayudarlos a tener una
sonrrisa saludable. Cuando los dientes de su bebé
comienzen a salir, límpieselos suavemente con
agua y un cepillo dental para bebé.
Para niños entre las edades de 2 a 6 años, cepille
los dientes con un poco de pasta de dientes con
floruro. Haga que escupan la pasta dental.
Pregunte a dentista de su(s) niño(s) si pueden usar
pasta dental con floruro antes de los 2 años. No se
olvide cepillar su lengua y pasarles el hilo dental

Habilidades Para Resolver Problemas
A los niños se les puede enseñar habilidades para
resolver problemas durante el transcurso regular
de cada día a través de modelar, enseñar y la
ayuda de un adulto. Trate estos 4 pasos fáciles
con su niño(a).

3) Discuta justicia y efectividad de la solución
