A menos que se indique lo contrario, todas las actividades
de la Convención tendrán lugar en distintos recintos de
KINTEX. Los datos del servicio de autobuses de RI figuran
en la Guía de transporte y en el mapa del local.
El junto a una sesión plenaria indica que se ofrecerá
interpretación simultánea en: español, inglés, italiano,
francés, japonés, coreano, mandarín y portugués.
Se prohíbe toda grabación magnetofónica o videográfica
de las sesiones. Se ruega apagar todo aparato electrónico
durante las sesiones plenarias, almuerzos y sesiones
paralelas.

SESIONES PARALELAS
Todas las sesiones paralelas tendrán lugar en KINTEX 2.
Nuestro programa de presentaciones, talleres y discusiones
es una magnífica oportunidad de aprender y trabajar con
expertos en una amplia gama de especialidades. Los disertantes
y panelistas son rotarios experimentados, oradores invitados
y líderes jóvenes con amplios conocimientos sobre una amplia
gama de temas de interés rotario.
En las sesiones participarán expositores del mundo entero y
se tratarán uno o varios de los siguientes temas:
•
Desarrollo del liderazgo. Estas sesiones brindarán
sugerencias para el desarrollo del liderazgo tanto en
Rotary como en nuestras comunidades y en el quehacer
profesional
•
Colaboración para alcanzar el éxito. En estas
sesiones se ofrecerán sugerencias sobre cómo trabajar con
colaboradores empresariales o comunitarios, otros clubes
o distritos y organizaciones patrocinadas por los clubes
•
Promoción de Rotary. En estas sesiones se estudiarán
distintos métodos para mejorar la imagen pública y elevar
el perfil de los clubes en sus comunidades
•
Servicio y proyectos. En estas sesiones se compartirán
historias sobre proyectos llevados a cabo con éxito,
se sugerirán mejores prácticas para las Subvenciones
Globales y se propondrán estrategias para emprender
proyectos sostenibles de gran alcance
•
Fortalecimiento de la membresía. En estas sesiones
se ofrecerán ideas para promover la innovación y la
diversidad en los clubes, así como para mejorar las
técnicas de captación y conservación de socios
La mayor parte de las sesiones se desarrollarán en inglés
y en algunas se contará con servicio de interpretación
simultánea. Se ofrecerá un número limitado de sesiones en
coreano y japonés. Para más detalles, consulta las páginas
22 a 46.
ZONA CULTURAL
La Zona cultural, abierta de 13:30 a 16:30 de lunes a
miércoles, es el lugar ideal para hacer nuevos amigos y
aprender sobre otras culturas mediante una gran variedad
de actividades prácticas para las que, en muchos casos, no
necesitarás hablar otro idioma. Aprende un nuevo juego, pon
a prueba tu creatividad o envíate una postal. Para consultar
el programa de actividades, utiliza la aplicación móvil o
visita esta zona.
Para garantizar la seguridad de los participantes, debemos
cumplir las normas respecto a la capacidad de los locales.
Procura sentarte en uno de los asientos disponibles y
quédate de pie solo si no hay otra alternativa. No se permite
sentarse en los pasillos.

After the physical needs created by a disaster are met, how
can Rotarians address psychological and spiritual needs?
After a March 2011 earthquake and tsunami devastated
Japan’s Tōhoku coast, U.S. Rotary clubs affected by the 9/11
terrorist attacks developed an innovative disaster response,
creating strong bonds with local Rotarians and bringing
healing to survivors in both regions. You’ll learn to think
beyond the deployment of supplies and professionals and see
the untapped potential of peer support in sustained disaster
response.

BIBLIOTECA INFANTIL GLOBAL
En la Convención de Rotary International de 2016, la
Comisión Organizadora Anfitriona inaugura su “Biblioteca
Infantil Global” para los niños de la localidad.
Demuestra tu aprecio por otros seres humanos donando
un libro infantil ilustrado y participando en este proyecto.
Aporta libros para chicos de 7 a 13 años (por ejemplo: libros
ilustrados, cuentos de hadas, ciencias naturales, biografía,
historia, sociedad, cultura, historietas, animación, etc.) en
el área previa a las funciones en el Hall 6, KINTEX 2 en el
horario de la Casa de la Amistad.
SHELTERBOX
La alianza para el servicio establecida entre Rotary y
ShelterBox ofrece a los rotarios la oportunidad de contribuir
a la distribución de refugios de emergencia y suministros
vitales a comunidades afectadas por desastres naturales
y crisis humanitarias. Visita su presentación interactiva
para obtener información sobre su labor de ayuda a los
necesitados.
STOP HUNGER NOW (Lucha contra el hambre)
Desde 2005, rotarios de todo el mundo han empaquetado
decenas de millones de comidas preparadas para Stop
Hunger Now. El embalado de las comidas de Stop Hunger
es una actividad de servicio internacional divertida
que promueve las relaciones de colaboración en la
comunidad. Durante la Convención, los rotarios dispondrán
de la oportunidad de empacar 150.000 comidas nutritivas
que luego se entregarán a Feed the Hungry-Hong-Kong, o

INFORMACIÓN
GENERAL
¿No encuentras la información que buscas en el programa de
la Convención? Visita las oficinas de la Convención (Business
Lounge 3C, KINTEX 1) del viernes 27 de mayo al miércoles 1
de junio, en el horario de 08:00-18:00 o consulta la aplicación
de la Convención. Para descargarla, escanea el código QR
en la portada de este folleto o realiza una búsqueda por los
términos “Rotary Events” en las tiendas de aplicaciones de
Apple, Google Play o Blackberry.
CAJEROS AUTOMÁTICOS
Para buscar los cajeros situados dentro de KINTEX
1 y 2, consulta la Guía de transporte y el mapa de la sede.
En las áreas de salidas y llegadas del aeropuerto, funcionan
casas de cambio las 24 horas del día. En el aeropuerto
también hay sucursales bancarias y varios cajeros
automáticos.
Se puede cambiar moneda extranjera en un mostrador de la
Convención.
También se puede cambiar moneda extranjera en numerosos
hoteles, aunque los tipos de cambio que ofrecen dejan que
desear.
VESTIMENTA
Para la mayoría de los eventos es adecuado vestir
atuendo informal de negocios. Para los eventos especiales
(con invitación), se debe llevar indumentaria más formal.
ADHESIVOS Y CINTAS PARA EL DISTINTIVO
Las cintas se distribuyen en el mostrador a tales
efectos. Se dispone de Cintas especiales para presidentes,
secretarios y tesoreros y otros funcionarios actuales,
pasados y futuros, además de participantes en programas
para la juventud y diversas actividades de la Fundación. Las
cintas son un buen pretexto para conversar con personas
desconocidas, además de identificar a los rotarios que ejercen
cargos similares. Las cintas son solo para los inscritos en la
Convención, quienes pueden recibir una para cada categoría,
mientras se disponga de suficiente inventario.
Los interesados pueden recoger los adhesivos que necesitan
para colocar sobre el distintivo, en el mismo mostrador
donde se entregan las cintas. Los adhesivos indicadores de
idiomas indican qué idiomas habla el portador. También hay
adhesivos en los que se indica que participas en diversos
programas para la juventud y el número de Convenciones a
las cuales has asistido.

ASIENTOS PARA LAS SESIONES GENERALES
Las sesiones generales tendrán lugar en los Halls 2-4
de KINTEX 1. La asignación de asientos y el acceso a todas las
sesiones generales se efectúan por orden de llegada, excepto
en las áreas con asientos reservados. La lista completa de
asientos reservados puede conseguirse en la aplicación de
la Convención para dispositivos móviles. Asimismo, los
maceros pueden ayudar a buscar una sección específica con
asientos reservados.
ALOJAMIENTO
Para información sobre reservas de hotel o depósitos
de alojamiento, dirígete al stand de alojamiento (Hall 5,
KINTEX 1). Representantes de Experient, agencia exclusiva
de los arreglos de hospedaje, asistirán a las personas
que se inscriban en la sede de la Convención y necesiten
alojamiento.
OBJETOS PERDIDOS
Las pérdidas deberán reportarse en la oficina de los
maceros (Sala 212, KINTEX 1).
Rotary no se responsabiliza por la pérdida o el robo de efectos
personales.

COMENTARIOS SOBRE LA CONVENCIÓN
Tus comentarios nos ayudarán a mejorar la
planificación de futuras Convenciones. Si deseas expresar tu
opinión al respecto, responde a la encuesta que te enviaremos
por correo electrónico a la conclusión de la Convención.
También podrás remitir tus comentarios sobre las sesiones
paralelas utilizando la aplicación de la Convención para
dispositivos móviles.
La Comisión Organizadora Anfitriona de la Convención de
2016 también patrocina una aplicación para dispositivos
móviles. Esta aplicación proporciona lo siguiente: tarjeta de
socio para la Convención de Rotary International, un cupón
móvil (válido para obtener descuentos en comidas, bebidas
y souvenirs de los proveedores participantes), información
acerca de KINTEX, restaurantes y excursiones patrocinadas
por la COA. La aplicación también incluirá avisos e
información actualizada sobre la Convención.

SERVICIOS PARA PERSONAS CON
MOVILIDAD REDUCIDA
Las personas con discapacidades físicas que requieran
asistencia deberán dirigirse al stand de distribución de
equipos de movilidad (Vestíbulo del Hall 1, KINTEX 1).
Desde el 27 de mayo al 1 de junio, la organización pone a
disposición de los asistentes, sillas de ruedas manuales y
scooters eléctricos los cuales se alquilarán diariamente
por orden de presentación en el stand de distribución de
equipos de movilidad. Las sillas de ruedas y scooters solo
podrán utilizarse dentro de KINTEX no en el sistema de
autobuses de la Convención. Los scooters y sillas de ruedas
deben devolverse diariamente antes del cierre del área de
inscripciones. Solo se acepta pago en efectivo.
Los usuarios asumen total responsabilidad por lesiones
personales o daños del equipo y se les facturarán los gastos de
reparación del mismo.

materiales de inscripción, o visita los stands de transporte
ubicados en Hall 5, KINTEX 1 y en el vestíbulo del Hall 7,

Las fotografías de la Convención estarán disponibles
en www.rotary.org/rotaryimages, donde encontrarás cientos
de fotografías, desde los eventos previos a la Convención
hasta la ceremonia de clausura. Estas imágenes pueden

de clubes y distritos, publicaciones impresas e iniciativas de

NORMAS
Código de conducta
Rotary International está consagrado a mantener un
ambiente de cortesía, dignidad y respeto. Este espíritu de

Específicamente, todos los participantes, así como los
empleados de Rotary que prestan servicio en la Convención
tienen el derecho a gozar de un entorno laboral libre de:
•
Cualquier contacto físico no apropiado (como
empujones o golpes con el propósito de amenazar,
intimidar o causar daño a otra persona)
•
Lenguaje indebido (incluidas palabras soeces y
expresiones ofensivas)
•
Propuestas indebidas (incluidos comentarios y gestos
provocativos, insinuaciones o contactos físicos)
Rotary International toma muy en serio las denuncias
de contravenciones al código de conducta. Se insta a
toda persona que considere que sus derechos no han
sido respetados a reportar dichos incidentes a la Oficina
de la Convención. El incumplimiento del Código de
conducta podría resultar en la revocación de la inscripción
en la Convención, la confiscación de del distintivo de
identificación o la credencial de acceso en calidad de
expositor o proveedor, la expulsión de la persona, expositor,
entidad o compañía de los recintos de KINTEX, y la
prohibición de su reingreso a dichos recintos sin derecho a
reembolso alguno, así como la prohibición de asistir a futuras
Convenciones de RI.
Debe prestarse atención especial a asegurar que los
jóvenes disfruten de un entorno lo más seguro durante su
participación en la Convención o las actividades relacionadas
con ésta. Conforme a la Declaración de normas de RI respecto
a las actividades para la juventud, “Rotary International se
compromete a crear y mantener un ambiente de máxima
seguridad para todos los jóvenes que participan en las
actividades de Rotary. Se espera que todos los rotarios,
cónyuges de rotarios, colaboradores y otros voluntarios,
desplieguen todo el esfuerzo posible para salvaguardar
el bienestar de los niños y jóvenes con quienes entran en
contacto, a efectos de prevenir todo tipo de acoso o abuso
físico, sexual o afectivo”. Todas las denuncias de acoso o
abuso a los jóvenes serán reportadas a las agencias policiales
o judiciales correspondientes y serán tratadas conforme a la
normativa de RI.
Captación de fondos
La Fundación Rotaria de Rotary International es la única
entidad autorizada a llevar a cabo actividades de captación de
fondos durante la Convención.

directamente a nuestro éxito. Se espera que los asistentes,
voluntarios, proveedores y miembros del personal
se comporten de modo profesional y con espíritu de
cooperación.
Música
En cumplimiento de las leyes de propiedad intelectual, RI
no pondrá a disposición de los asistentes, reproducciones de
las composiciones musicales utilizadas durante las sesiones
plenarias.
Fotografías y videos
Se notifica a los asistentes a la Convención de Rotary
International que, durante su participación en los eventos
preconvención, eventos de Rotary con entrada, eventos de
la COA, y cualquier otra función, podrían ser fotografiados
por cualquier medio, incluidos fotografía y grabación de
vídeo. Rotary Internacional y La Fundación Rotaria tendrán
derecho a perpetuidad a utilizar y publicar sus nombres,
voces, imágenes, semejanzas, etc., para cualquier propósito,
en todo el mundo, sin que RI o La Fundación Rotaria incurran
en deudas u obligaciones de ningún tipo.
No se permite grabar ni fotografiar a los oradores y artistas
que intervienen en las sesiones generales, sesiones paralelas
y la Casa de la Amistad.
Fumadores
Está prohibido fumar en todos los recintos de la Convención.
INFORMACIÓN SOBRE INSCRIPCIONES
Distintivos
Todos los participantes recibirán un distintivo de
identificación que deberán llevar consigo en todo momento
durante su estancia en KINTEX. Los distintivos serán
escaneados a la entrada en las sesiones generales y eventos de
Rotary con entrada.
Rotary International cumple la normativa internacional de
protección de datos para asegurarse de que la información
confidencial recopilada por RI esté protegida en todo
momento. Los distintivos no contienen ni permiten el acceso
a información personal confidencial.
Por motivos de seguridad, las personas inscritas en la
Convención deberán exhibir un documento de identidad
con fotografía (carné de conducir, pasaporte o carné de
identidad) al recoger su distintivo de identificación: RI se
reserva el derecho de verificar su documento de identidad
con foto en cualquier momento durante su estancia en la
Convención. También se podrá verificar al azar que los datos
del documento de identidad coincidan con la información
del distintivo personal. En caso de discrepancia entre los
documentos, se confiscará el distintivo y los infractores
deberán retirarse del local sin derecho a reembolso alguno. RI
se reserva el derecho de inspeccionar todos los portafolios y

Kioscos de inscripción
¿No recuerdas si adquiriste entradas para un evento de
Rotary en particular? Compruébalo en uno de los quioscos
del área de inscripciones. El procedimiento es muy sencillo:
escanea tu distintivo y aparecerán tus datos incluidas
las entradas para los eventos de Rotary o reuniones
preconvención que hayas adquirido. Basta pulsar un botón
para imprimir una copia.
Nota: Los distintivos no incluyen acceso a los eventos y
excursiones de la COA con entrada, los cuales se gestionan
por separado en el stand de venta de entradas para tales
eventos, situado en Hall 5, KINTEX 1
Entradas para eventos
Si no adquiriste entradas de antemano y quieres averiguar si
todavía quedan algunas, visita el área de inscripciones en Hall
5, KINTEX 1.
Eventos de Rotary con entrada: Si hubiese entradas
disponibles, los inscritos en la Convención deberán
presentarse personalmente y cargar la inscripción en los
eventos electrónicamente en el distintivo. No se venderán
localidades impresas. Puede que haya entradas disponibles
para las comidas debido a cancelaciones de última hora, las
cuales se pondrán a la venta aproximadamente una hora
antes del inicio del evento en el área de inscripciones (Hall 5,
KINTEX 1). No se pondrán a la venta entradas a la puerta del
evento.
Intercambio de entradas para los almuerzos: Si alguna
persona con entrada no pudiera asistir a estos eventos,
Rotary facilitará el intercambio de entradas en el stand
de Corrección de Distintivos (Hall 5, KINTEX 1). Ambas
personas deberán estar presentes en el momento del
intercambio, y cualquier transacción financiera deberá
efectuarse exclusivamente entre los inscritos.
Eventos de la COA con entrada: Los inscritos en la
Convención podrán adquirir entradas antes de que se agoten,
en el stand de venta de entradas de la COA (Hall 5, KINTEX

aceptar tal inspección, RI se reserva el derecho de admisión a
KINTEX.
SEGURIDAD
Corea recibe a visitantes de todo el mundo, pero se
recomienda a los asistentes tomar ciertas precauciones, como
se sugieren a continuación:
¨ Quítate el distintivo al salir del local de la Convención
(para no atraer a los carteristas). Recuerda que deberás
exhibir el distintivo al abordar los autobuses de RI, por
lo tanto, mantenlo siempre a mano.
¨ Mantente alerta. Camina con aplomo y mantén
contacto visual con las personas a tu alrededor.
¨ Lleva sólo lo necesario. Evita salir con muchos objetos
de valor o cantidades importantes de efectivo.
No guardes todas tus tarjetas de crédito, documentos
de identidad, pasaporte u otros documentos personales
en la misma billetera o bolso.
¨ Guarda la billetera o cartera en un lugar seguro, de
difícil acceso. Los caballeros deberán llevar la billetera
en los bolsillos frontales de los pantalones o en el
interior del traje o chaqueta. Las damas deberán
guardar las billeteras en el fondo de sus bolsos, asiendo
éstos firmemente con las manos.
¨ Mantente especialmente atento en las inmediaciones
de los bancos, cajeros automáticos y las estaciones de
trenes y autobuses.
¨ Deja la bolsa de bienvenida en la habitación del hotel y utiliza una bolsa sin distintivos específicos.

Tanto RI como la Comisión Organizadora Anfitriona de la
Convención de 2016 están exentas de toda responsabilidad
respecto a cualquier lesión personal o problema de salud que
pudieran sufrir los concurrentes durante su estadía en Corea.
Se recomienda encarecidamente contratar una póliza de
seguro de viaje que cubra gastos de atención médica de
urgencia, evacuación médica y costos de repatriación en
caso de lesión o enfermedad fuera del propio país. Salvo que
tu proveedor de seguro médico confirme que cuentas con tal
cobertura durante tu asistencia a la Convención de RI, es de
suponer que no dispones de dicha protección en caso de una
urgencia médica.
MACEROS
Los maceros, equipo de experimentados rotarios y
sus cónyuges, estarán a disposición de los participantes en
diversos lugares del centro de convenciones para contestar
preguntas y brindar información general. Los podrás
distinguir fácilmente por sus chalecos amarillos.
Se solicita a los convencionistas que sigan sus indicaciones.
Los rotarios interesados en desempeñarse como maceros
podrán anotarse en la oficina a tales efectos (Sala 212B,
KINTEX 1) donde se les asignarán las tareas respectivas y
recibirán la información pertinente.
INTERPRETACIÓN SIMULTÁNEA
La mayoría de las sesiones plenarias y las demás
reuniones se llevarán a cabo en inglés. Algunas sesiones
plenarias contarán con presentaciones en otros idiomas.
Consulta la información de los distintos eventos en el

LA FUNDACIÓN ROTARIA
En 2016-2017, La Fundación Rotaria cumple
100 años, un siglo en el cual los rotarios se han dedicado de
lleno a mejorar las condiciones de vida y las comunidades de
todo el mundo.
La Fundación se sitúa a la vanguardia del servicio
humanitario, habiendo brindado apoyo a miles de proyectos
para suministrar agua salubre, combatir las enfermedades,
promover la paz e impartir educación básica. Asimismo,
emprendió un programa histórico dedicado a la causa de la
erradicación mundial de la polio.

Los delegados o apoderados de los clubes deberán presentar
su certificado de credenciales en el mostrador para delegados
votantes, situado en el vestíbulo del Hall 7, 2º piso, KINTEX
2. El Comité de Credenciales visará los certificados y
distribuirá las tarjetas de votación y los distintivos a los
delegados votantes.
Se requiere que los delegados votantes asistan a la sesión para
delegados que tendrá lugar el martes 31 de mayo.
