Estimados apoderados,
Sus hijos(as) están próximos a culminar un ciclo muy importante en sus vidas, su etapa
escolar. Como es de vuestro conocimiento, el Santiago College despide a los Seniors
con diversas ceremonias y actividades que forman parte de la tradición del colegio.
A continuación, les incluyo un detalle de estas celebraciones con sus correspondientes
fechas:
RING AND MEDAL CEREMONY
Miércoles 27 noviembre – 19:00 horas
En esta ceremonia, los alumnos recibirán el anillo o medalla que simboliza el
compromiso que ellos adquieren con el colegio y que los distingue como miembros del
Santiago College donde quiera que vayan. El Ring and Medal se realiza en el Patio
Miss Mason y cada alumno puede contar con 3 invitaciones. Los anillos y medallas son
entregados por la Directora de nuestro establecimiento o por las madres, padres o
abuelas ex alumnas, según corresponda.
LAST CHAPEL
Viernes 29 noviembre – 09:00 horas
Esta es una ceremonia de despedida que le brinda el colegio a los Seniors, de un
profundo sentido religioso, en la cual están representadas las Iglesias católica,
protestante y judía. Se realiza en el Auditorio del colegio y asiste la totalidad del Junior
Class, representantes de otros niveles, profesores y administrativos. Por problemas de
espacio y de seguridad, las entradas se restringen a 4 por familia. Los alumnos de
Primero Básico hacen entrega de un ramito de flores a las damas y un banderín a los
varones lo que simboliza la continuidad de la educación.
JUNIOR-SENIOR PICNIC
Viernes 29 noviembre – 11:00 horas
A continuación del Last Chapel, el Junior Class despide al Senior Class con un Picnic,
donde comparten un día de convivencia y recreación entre ambas generaciones y sus
profesores. Cada Senior recibe un pequeño presente de su Junior asignado. El lugar
en donde se realizará este picnic está por confirmarse, por lo que apenas tengamos
novedades al respecto se las haremos saber.
ALUMNI SUPPER
Jueves 05 diciembre – 19:30 horas
Cena de bienvenida que ofrece el Alumni Association a sus nuevos miembros. Se
realizara en el Campus Los Trapenses. Aparte de recibir a la nueva promoción, es una
oportunidad de reencuentro entre los ex alumnos de generaciones anteriores.
SENIOR BREAKFAST
Sábado 07 diciembre – 08:00 horas
Los Seniors, junto a sus profesores, se reúnen en el comedor del colegio para compartir
un desayuno. En esa ocasión, los Profesores Jefes se despiden de sus cursos y del
nivel.
ELECCIÓN FINER-HUMANKIND AWARD
Sábado 07 diciembre – 10:30 horas
A continuación del desayuno, los Seniors se dirigen a la Sala de Profesores para
participar en la votación del Finer Humankind Award. El objetivo es elegir al alumno/a
del Senior Class que mejor represente los valores del Santiago College. Participan
también los Juniors, representantes de 9° y 10° y profesores.
COMMENCEMENT
Sábado 07 diciembre – 19:30 horas
Esta es la última ceremonia en la que participan los Seniors y como su nombre lo indica,
no sólo marca el final de un ciclo, sino el comienzo de una nueva vida. Los Juniors
cumplen un rol importante, portando el “evergreen chain” que simboliza la cadena que
nunca se rompe. En esta ocasión, los Seniors reciben su diploma de graduados del
Santiago College y también se entregan los premios que distinguen a los más
destacados en distintas áreas.
SENIOR BALL
Domingo 08 de diciembre - 20:30horas
Baile de graduación al cual asisten los alumnos de la promoción junto a sus padres y
apoderados quienes asisten al cocktail. A continuación, los adultos se retiran y dejan a
sus hijos disfrutando de la cena y el baile que se extiende hasta la madrugada. Este
evento es organizado por los apoderados del nivel y algunos de ellos los acompañan
durante toda la velada. Este año el Senior Ball tendrá lugar en la casa de Eventos Casa
Piedra, ubicada en Monseñor Escrivá de Balaguer 5600 – Vitacura.
A continuación se detallan acuerdos de la comisión roomparents para los costos de los
anillos y medallas, por lo que agradeceremos devolver colilla firmada o enviar e-mail
con la respuesta a Claudia Arenas - [email protected] – a más tardar el día viernes
26 de julio de 2013.
En nuestra calidad de Apoderados, Room-parents de los Cuartos Medios y en
respuesta a la confianza depositada en nosotros, nos es grato informarles de los
acuerdos que hemos tomado con relación a aquellos gastos que deben ser cubiertos
por los padres.

El precio corresponde a trabajo vendido, es decir, incluye el valor total del anillo /
medalla con el metal incluido. El anillo será hecho a medida y la joyería tomará las
medidas en el colegio, jueves 27 de junio, lunes 1 de julio y miércoles 3 de julio
desde las 9:00 hrs (después que terminen su prueba).
En base a la elección de su hijo/a, el monto a cancelar se cobrará en 3 cuotas en las
mensualidades de agosto, septiembre y octubre de 2013.

Dear Parents,
Your children are about to finish an important stage in their lives, the time spent at
school. As you may be all aware, Santiago College organizes various farewell
ceremonies and activities, which are part of the school tradition.
Herewith a list of the ceremonies and corresponding dates:
RING AND MEDAL CEREMONY
Wednesday, November 27th – 19:00 pm
As a symbol of their years spent at Santiago College, senior students are handed in the
rings and medals, symbols that distinguish the Santiago College members wherever
they go. This ceremony will take place at Miss Mason’s Patio and each student will
receive 3 invitations.
The Headmistress, Alumni mothers, Alumni fathers or
Grandmothers will hand in the rings and medals.
LAST CHAPEL
Friday, November 29th – 9:00 am
It is a farewell ceremony offered to the Senior Class, with a deep religious connotation
and in which the Jewish, Protestant and Catholic Churches are represented. The Junior
Class, parents, classmates and teachers attend the Last Chapel. Each student will
receive 4 invitations. During the ceremony, 1st grade students present the girls with
flowers and boys with the school banner, which are symbols of a permanent education.
JUNIOR-SENIOR PICNIC
Friday, November 29th - 11:00 am
Juniors invite seniors and teachers to a final get-together. The idea is to share with
those students who have completed their studies at Santiago College. The seniors are
presented with a small gift. The place where this picnic will take place is not defined yet.
Once we have news about it, we will let you know.
ALUMNI SUPPER
Thursday, December 5th – 19:30 pm
It is a traditional welcome offered by the Santiago College Alumni Association to the
graduating class. Over the past years a dinner has been organized at La Dehesa
Campus field. Santiago College students from past generations have the chance of
meeting.
SENIOR BREAKFAST
Saturday, December 7th – 8:00 am
The Senior Class, along with teachers and administrative staff, share a breakfast at the
school’s dining room. On this occasion, the Homeroom teachers bid farewell to their
respective class.
FINER HUMANKIND AWARD ELECTION
Saturday, December 7th – 10:30 am
After breakfast, seniors, juniors, 9th and 10th class representatives and teachers
participate in the election of the Finer Humankind Award. This award is given to the
student who best represents the school values.
COMMENCEMENT
December 7th - 19:30 pm
It is the graduation ceremony where seniors are given with their graduating Diploma.
They are leaving behind a part of their lives and are prepared to face new challenges.
The ceremony begins with the juniors (11th grade) walking along with the seniors. On
this occasion, outstanding students are awarded in different areas.
SENIOR BALL
Sunday, December 8th – 20:30 pm
The Senior Ball is the last event after Commencement. During the cocktail, parents
accompany students. Later on, seniors spend an all-night dinner and dance with their
dates. 12th grade parents organize this event and some of them stay over night. This
year, the Senior Ball will take place at “Casa de Eventos Casa Piedra”, Monseñor
Escrivá de Balaguer 5600 – Vitacura”.
In the following page there is information about the agreements of the parents involved
in the organization of the end of year ceremonies, with the costs of the rings and medals.

The price includes total cost of the ring and medal with both metals included. The
jeweler will come to school to check students’ rings sizes on Thursday, June 27th,
Monday, July the 1st and Wednesdy, July the 3rd.
According to your son/daughter’s choice, the amount will be deducted in three
installments in August, September and October 2013 monthly fees.
