Diocesan Pilgrimage
to the
Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
in Washington, D.C.
As part of the celebration of this Year of Mercy, Saint Rosalie’s Parish will be participating in the
Diocesan Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The
date of the pilgrimage is Saturday, September 24. Please contact Linda at the Parish Center 631728-9461 for more information on this wonderful event and to reserve a seat on the bus. We have
25 seats reserved, so don’t hesitate to save your seat! There are a few seats available. If you want to
participate you MUST call to make a reservation! Or please fill out the form below and bring it to the

Eucharistic Ministers Training
The training for new Eucharistic Ministers will be
offered on Saturday, October 22, from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. at McGann-Mercy High School, Riverhead.
We are in need of more ministers for this very
important ministry of serving Eucharist to our many
parishioners.
Those who wish to minister in hospitals, nursing homes
and to homebound persons are also required to attend
a second session on Saturday, November 5, from 9
a.m. to 1 p.m. at McGann-Mercy High School.

Beginning this Sunday, September 11, we will return
to our regular Mass schedule on Sundays at St. Rosalie’s
in Hampton Bays: Saturday at 5 p.m.; Sunday 8 a.m.,
9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Weekday Mass will be at 8 a.m.
and 12 noon, Monday-Friday. At St. Rosalie’s in East
Quogue beginning September 11, only one Sunday
Mass will be at 9 a.m. This schedule will continue through
the end of the year.

Crew 7023 News
The barbecues were a success! The Crew assisted with
all four events and logged 52 hours of community service
for the barbecues alone. They set up, cooked, served,
assisted the guests and cleaned up afterwards. The
Knights of Columbus served an average of 50+ patrons
each Sunday, providing 312 hot dogs, 256 hamburgers,
along with salads, chips and beverages.

Since its inception, the Crew has participated in a Movie night, Bowling night, Long Island Ducks
Game, Survival camp out, Paddle Boarding day, Pokémon Go! excursion, 3 Eagle Scout projects, 1
Girl Scout Gold Project, marched in the Fourth of July parade, volunteered at the K of C blood drive,
collected 150 cases of Girl Scout cookies for Veterans, collected School supplies for 100+ needy kids,
volunteered at the luncheons for Deacon Jim, Father Collins and Father Kevin, hosted a pancake
breakfast, hosted a pasta buffet, held a car wash, assisted at the carnival with the special needs
groups, and attended the special needs masses at Saint Rosalie's church.
The Crew has scheduled a shooting sports weekend in September, a NYC trip in October, a trip
upstate in November, a ski trip in December, and will be completing the CPR/AED and first aid
certifications in the next few weeks. The Crew has received training in personal safety, ethical
dilemmas, youth protection, and leadership development. This year, five of them are will be receiving
the Pope Pius medal at the Diocese of Rockville Centre Scouting Convocation in October.
Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women
who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21

El Papa Habla sobre el Matrimonio «El don recíproco constitutivo del
matrimonio sacramental arraiga en la
gracia del bautismo, que establece la
alianza fundamental de toda persona
con Cristo en la Iglesia. En la acogida
mutua, y con la gracia de Cristo, los
novios se prometen entrega total,
fidelidad y apertura a la vida, y además
reconocen como elementos constitutivos del matrimonio los
dones que Dios les ofrece, tomando en serio su mutuo
compromiso, en su nombre y frente a la Iglesia. Ahora bien,
la fe permite asumir los bienes del matrimonio como
compromisos que se pueden sostener mejor mediante la
ayuda de la gracia del sacramento [...] Por lo tanto, la
mirada de la Iglesia se dirige a los esposos como al corazón
de toda la familia, que a su vez dirige su mirada hacia
Jesús». El sacramento no es una «cosa» o una «fuerza»,
porque en realidad Cristo mismo «mediante el sacramento
del matrimonio, sale al encuentro de los esposos cristianos.
Permanece con ellos, les da la fuerza de seguirle tomando
su cruz, de levantarse después de sus caídas, de perdonarse
mutuamente, de llevar unos las cargas de los otros». El
matrimonio cristiano es un signo que no sólo indica cuánto
amó Cristo a su Iglesia en la Alianza sellada en la cruz, sino
que hace presente ese amor en la comunión de los esposos.
Al unirse ellos en una sola carne, representan el desposorio
del Hijo de Dios con la naturaleza humana. Por eso «en las
alegrías de su amor y de su vida familiar les da, ya aquí, un
gusto anticipado del banquete de las bodas del Cordero».
Aunque «la analogía entre la pareja marido-mujer y CristoIglesia» es una «analogía imperfecta», invita a invocar al
Señor para que derrame su propio amor en los límites de las
relaciones conyugales. De Amoris Laetitia, §73. Dado en Roma, el 19

Sacramentos para Adultos - Las clases para adultos que no
han recibido los sacramentos de Confirmación o Comunión
o aún no son Bautizados, son los jueves, a las 7 PM en la
escuelita en East Hampton o los domingos, a las 10 de la
mañana en el Apostolado Hispano en Southampton. Estas
clases son para jóvenes y adultos de 18 o más años. La
clase en East Hampton comienza el 8 de septiembre y en
Southampton el domingo 25.
Cursillo Prematrimonial - A los interesados en contraer
matrimonio por la iglesia católica, les estamos informando
que el Cursillo Prematrimonial si iniciará el 2 de octubre.
Las reuniones serán los domingos de las 9:00 AM hasta las
12 de mediodía en Southampton.

Grupo de Oración para Jóvenes Adultos
El grupo, Jóvenes Renovados en Cristo, se reúne los martes a
las 7:30 PM en el Centro Comunitario.
Comunidad de Oración para Adultos y Familias
Los jueves a las 7:00 PM en el Centro Comunitario. El
segundo jueves de cada mes se reúne en la iglesia para la hora
santa. Todos están invitados.
Preparación Pre Matrimonial – Para casarse por la iglesia,
haga una cita para una entrevista con P. Cesar, P. Esteban o P.
Jesús. El curso pre-matrimonial se da por seis domingos, de las
9 AM al mediodía comenzando el primer domingo de octubre
o de febrero.
Curso Pre-Bautismal
El curso se da el último domingo de cada mes a la 1:30 PM en
el Apostolado Hispano en Southampton o a las 5:00 PM en la
iglesia en East Hampton. En junio el curso será el domingo, 25
de septiembre. Favor de llevar la copia del acta de nacimiento
del niño. Los bautizos en Hampton Bays serán el 8 de octubre,
el 12 de noviembre y el 10 de diciembre.
Requisitos para el Bautismo de un Niño
Curso: Para bautizar a su hijo, es necesario que los padres y
padrinos asistan al curso pre-bautismal.

Compostela
The Way of St. James
Sunday, September 25, 2-4 pm
at the Hampton Bays Library
The Camino is a network of routes
across Spain and Europe which lead
to the tomb of the apostle St. James,
under the cathedral in Santiago de
Compostela in Galicia in northwest
Spain. Since the Middle Ages these
routes have been walked as a pilgrimage. People from all over the
world have walked, cycled, or ridden horseback every year since then
in an epic journey of 500 miles.
