Grateful for Our Past, Building Our Future
Dear Parishioners,
The campaign to raise the $2 miilion that is
needed to stabilize the stone church ($1,363,000)
and to meet the parish target for the Diocesan
Campaign ($637,000) is entering a very important
phase this week. During the month of August a
group of dedicated parishionrs will be working with
me contacting all our registered parishioners. The
plan is to make as many home visists as possible.
The volunteers will bring the Campaign materials to
the homes they visit. I ask that you welcome them
and that you give thoughtful and prayerful
consideration to making a five-year pledge to the
Campaign. Making a pledge allows the donor to
do something extra by spreading the amount of the
gift over five years. I trust you will give this your
consideration and respond with a meaningful gift.
The 64 donors who have already pledged $501,350
have set an example of sacrifice and generosity for
many more to emulate. This gives me confidence
that we will reach our goal. Be a part of its success
and keep the Campaign in your prayer.

Lla campaña para recaudar los $2 millones
que es necesaria para estabilizar la Iglesia de
piedra ($1.363.000) y para cumplir la meta de la
parroquia para la campaña diocesana ($637.000)
está entrando en una fase muy importante esta
semana. Durante el mes de agosto un grupo de
parroquianos dedicados a trabajará conmigo, van
a contactar a todos nuestros feligreses registrados.
El plan es hacer las mas visistas de casa como sea
posible. Los voluntarios llevarán los materiales de la
campaña a los hogares que visiten. Les pido que
les den la bienvenida y que dén consideración
reflexiva y oración para hacer un compromiso de
cinco años a la campaña. Hacer un compromiso
de cinco años pemite que el feligres haga algo
extra por la parroquia con mas facilidad. Confío en
que le darán consideración y que responderan
con un regalo significativo. Los 64 donantes que ya
han prometido $501.350 han establecido un
ejemplo de generosidad para que los de más lo
sigan. Esto me da confianza que alcanzaremos
nuestra meta. Sea parte de este éxito y mantenga
la campaña en sus oraciónes.

Monthly Breakfast in the Parish Hall today after the
7:30 and 9:00 a.m. Masses

Welcome Fr. David Costello, OCD
Fr. David is a Carmelite priest at the Carmelite
House of Prayer in Oakville and he is spending the
weekend with us at St. Rose. He will preach the
homily at all the English and Spanish Masses today
and share some of his experiences working as a
priest in Uganda, Africa. A second collection will be
taken up today to assist the work of the Carmelites
in that country.

Fr. David es un Sacerdote Carmelita de la Casa de
Oración de Carmelitas en Oakville y pasará el fin de

R.C.I.A.
The parish R.C.I.A. begins on Tuesday, September
9th in the Fireside Room of the convent from 7:008:30 p.m. R.C.I.A. is a process of instruction and formation for adults interested in joining the Catholic
Church and receiving the sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation, and Eucharist. All interested adults
are invited to begin the process by calling the parish office. All are welcome.

Parents Baptism Classes
The next English class will be on Wednesday, August
6th from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Baptistry. The next class
in Spanish will be on Thursday, August 7th at 7:00
p.m. in the parish hall. No children please. Parents
must attend the class before scheduling a date for
the child’s baptism.

Immigration Workshop
The parish is hosting an information day on AB60 on
Wednesday, August 13th in the parish hall from 4:009:00 p.m. AB60 takes effect in 2015 and will allow
eligible drivers in California who cannot prove their
legal immigration status to apply for a special driver’s license.

Noticias del Catecismo
The deadline to register for Religious Education
classes is Tuesday, August 12th. All registrations are
done at the parish office. The office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. At the time of
registration a copy of the child’s baptism certificate
must be presented. Those signing up for Confirmation must also provide a copy of the First Communion certificate. Registrations will not be accepted
without these documents.
La fecha límite para inscribir a sus hijos al catecismo es el martes, 12 de agosto. Todos los registros se
realizan en la oficina parroquial. La oficina está
abierta de lunes a viernes de 9:00-5:00pm. En el
momento de la inscripción debe presentarse una
copia del fe de bautismo del niño. Los de confirmación también deben proporcionar una copia
del certificado de primera comunión. No se aceptarán aplicaciones sin estos documentos.
