Effective Immediately: Outside Watering Limited to Alternate Weekdays
Effective immediately all, Del Oro Water Company Tulare District, Grandview Gardens Service Area customers are
asked for their cooperation in voluntarily conserving at least 20% of their monthly usage. California is currently in a
drought following the driest year experienced by the state in over 100 years. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and
is voluntary at this time. However, mandatory limits may be imposed if voluntary conservation is not sufficient to ensure
sufficient drinking water for all customers.
Outside watering (ie. lawns & gardens) is to be done ONLY between the hours of 8 PM and 6 AM. And on the
following schedule:
• Customers who’s street address ends in an odd number (1,3,5,7,9) are to water on Mondays,
Wednesdays, or Fridays only
• Customers who’s street address ends in an even number (0,2,4,6,8) are to water on Tuesdays, Thursdays,
or Saturdays only
• No outside watering is to be done on Sundays.
Outside water usage is now being enforced pursuant to Rule No. 11 Discontinuance and Restoration of Service:
“Where negligent or wasteful use of water exists on a customer’s premises, the utility may discontinue service
of such practices are not remedied within five days after it has given the customer written notice to such effect.”
In addition, no customer shall use utility–supplied water for non-essential or unauthorized uses, including but not limited to:
• Use of potable water for more than minimal landscaping, as defined in the landscaping regulations of the jurisdiction
or as described in Article 10.8 of the California Government Code in connection with new construction;
• Excessive use of water: when a utility has notified the customer in writing to repair a broken or defective plumbing,
sprinkler, watering or irrigation system and the customer has failed to effect such repairs within five business days, the
utility may install a flow restriction device;
• Use of potable water which results in flooding or runoff in gutters, waterways, patios, driveways, or streets;
• Individual private washing of cars with a hose except with the use of a positive action shut-off nozzle. Use of
potable water for washing commercial aircraft, cars, buses, boats, trailers, or other commercial vehicles at any
time, except at commercial or fleet vehicle or boat washing facilities operated at a fixed location where equipment
using water is properly maintained to avoid wasteful use;
• Use of potable water for washing buildings, structures, driveways, patios, parking lots, tennis court, or other
hardsurfaced areas, except in the cases where health and safety are at risk;
• Use of potable water to irrigate turf, lawns, gardens, or ornamental landscaping by means other than drip
irrigation, or hand watering without quick acting positive action shut-off nozzles;
• Use of potable water for street cleaning with trucks, except for initial wash-down for construction purposes (if street
sweeping is not feasible), or to protect the health and safety of the public;
• Use of potable water for construction purposes, such as consolidation of backfill, dust control, or other uses unless no
other source of water or other method can be used;
• Use of potable water for decorative fountains or the filling or topping off of decorative lakes or ponds. Exceptions
are made for those decorative fountains, lakes, or ponds which utilize recycled water;
• Use of potable water for the filling or refilling of swimming pools;
• Service of water by any restaurant except upon the request of a patron; and
• Use of potable water to flush hydrants, except where required for public health or safety.

Fuera agua uso ahora se están aplicando en virtud de la regla No. 11 Suspensión y Restablecimiento de
Servicio: "Donde existe uso negligente o desperdicio de agua en las instalaciones del cliente, la utilidad puede
suspender el servicio de tales prácticas no se subsanaren dentro de cinco días después de que ha dado el
cliente aviso por escrito a tal efecto."
Además, ningún cliente utilizará agua suministrada – para usos no esenciales o no autorizados, incluyendo pero no limitado a:
• Uso de agua potable para el paisajismo más mínimos, tal como se define en el Reglamento de paisajismo de la
jurisdicción o como se describe en el artículo 10.8 del código de gobierno de California con respecto a la nueva
construcción;
• El uso excesivo de agua: cuando una utilidad ha notificado al cliente por escrito reparar un sistema de plomería,
regadera, riego o sistema de riego roto o defectuoso y el cliente ha fallado efectuar dichas reparaciones dentro de cinco
días de negocios, la utilidad puede instalar un dispositivo de restricción de flujo;
• Uso de agua potable que se traduce en inundaciones o escurrimiento del producto en los canales, vías navegables,
patios, calzadas o calles;
• Individual privado lavado de coches con una manguera excepto con el uso de una boquilla de cierre de acción
positiva. Uso de agua potable para el lavado de aeronaves comerciales, coches, autobuses, barcos, remolques u
otros vehículos comerciales en cualquier momento, excepto en vehículos comerciales o flota o barco, instalaciones
de lavado operado desde una ubicación fija donde equipos usando el agua se mantienen adecuadamente para evitar el
uso derrochador;
• Uso de agua potable para el lavado de edificios, estructuras, calzadas, patios, estacionamientos, cancha de tenis u
otras áreas superficie dura, excepto en los casos donde la salud y la seguridad tienen un riesgo;
• Uso de agua potable para regar el césped, céspedes, jardines o jardinería ornamental por medios distintos de riego

excepciones para esas fuentes decorativas, lagos o estanques que utilizan agua reciclada;
• Uso de agua potable para el relleno o el llenado de piscinas;
• Servicio de agua por cualquiera de los restaurantes excepto por el requerimiento de un patrón; y
• Uso de agua potable para lavar hidrantes, excepto donde se requiere de la salud pública o la segurida
