FIAB
MARM
FIAB (The Spanish Federation of Food and
Beverage Industries) is an umbrella organization
of most of the food and beverage associations
and more than 8000 manufacturing companies
in Spain. Its basic function consists of informing
its members about events and developments
which are relevant to the sector. FIAB also
represents the interests of its members in
discussions with administrative and decisionmaking bodies on national, European and
international levels. Accordingly, its activities
are focused on the following areas: economy,
fiscal policy, research and development, labour
affairs, food legislation, promotion of foreign
trade, training, environment and communication.
In particular, the promotion of foreign trade is
effected through supporting Spanish companies
and their products in events like trade fairs, show
rooms, business meetings, etc. in order to build
up and enhance the Spanish image abroad.
The Ministry of the Environment and Rural and
Marine Affairs is the department in charge of
proposing and executing government policy in
terms of the struggle against climatic change
and the protection of the environment, its natural
resources and biodiversity as well as its marine
life, water resources, rural development,
agricultural resources, and the cattle, fish and
food industries.
The high quality and unique taste of Spanish
products have fostered its exports to more than
80 countries, leading in 2008, to an export value
of ¤20 billion and maintaining its positive trade
balance worldwide.
To this effect, it assumes the responsibilities
erstwhile attributed to the Ministry of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Ministry
of the Environment as well as the policies
developed so far by the Ministry of Public Works
with regard to marine protection.
ICEX
ICEX (The Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade)
provides Spanish businesses with assistance
aimed at promoting and supporting their
international presence. To do this it has its own
financial, material and human resources,
operating in the following areas:
•Compiling and publicizing information on
Spanish goods and services as well as
international markets.
•Promoting technical business skills within the
company and training business professionals in
foreign trade.
•Designing and implementing promotional
business programs on foreign markets.
•Promoting business investment, implementation
and partnership projects on foreign markets.
To achieve its goals efficiently, ICEX operates
abroad through the network of Spanish Embassy
Offices for Economic and Commercial Affairs
and in Spain through Regional and Territorial
Trade Offices.

Extenda is the Trade Promotion Agency of
Andalusia (Extenda): a company owned by

ADE INTERNACIONAL EXCAL
ADE Internacional Excal is a public company that
was created by the Regional Government of
Castilla-León to facilitate the internationalization
of the companies in that region. Its objective is
to boost their promotion efforts and assist them
in obtaining access to foreign markets in order
to enhance their development through the
expansion of their international activity.
The philosophy of ADE Internacional Excal is
based on providing advice and services to all
those companies of Castilla-León that already
are exporting, as well as to those that want to
initiate commercial activities worldwide.
Consequently, ADE Internacional Excal is a key
instrument in the development of the Corporate
Plan for the Internationalization of Castilla-León
for 2008 - 2011.

PRODECA
IPEX (The Foreign Trade Institute of Castilla La
Mancha) is a state-owned company that carries
out activities and services aimed at supporting
and promoting foreign trade for CASTILLA LA
MANCHA´S companies.
Promotora d’Exportacions Catalanes SA,
PRODECA, provides a series of services to
Catalonia´s food industry aimed at supporting
foreign trade, and the internationalization and
promotion of food quality.
Generalitat de Catalunya promotes Catalan food
products and supports their international
distribution. This is why Prodeca, a company
attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock
and Rural Action, uses its human and financial
resources to promote the services and technology
of such companies, cooperatives, associations
and institutions which make up the chain of
production, processing and distribution of
Catalonia´s agri-food sector in domestic and
foreign markets, as well as the promotion of food
quality.
To complete this task, Prodeca coordinates its
activities with other trade promotion and
internationalization agencies, joining forces and
providing efficient services to food companies.
Regarding the wine sector, the viticulture of
Castilla La Mancha is fully competitive and first
class in terms of grape varieties and growing
methods, oenological technology and qualityprice ratio of the wine.
On other hand, our region offers a wide range of
high quality products including olive oil,
Manchego cheese, saffron, honey, fresh and
canned foods and vegetables, meats and meat
products like ham, etc.
INFO’S DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN TRADE
INFO’s department of Foreign Trade, together
with the Chambers of Commerce of Murcia,
Cartagena and Lorca, develops various lines of
work included within the Foreign Trade Promotion
Plan. The aim is to upgrade the
internationalization process of Murcian
companies by promoting new firms, opening
new markets and supporting existing ones, as
well as improving the variety of the export batch.
The Foreign Trade Promotion Plan 2007-2013,
intended to meet the new market challenges,
rests upon four pillars: information, training,
promotion and financing. In turn, these basic
pillars provide nearly forty corporate instruments
and tools designed to help companies develop
their foreign market policies.

The Aceitunas Guadalquivir Group is located in Morón de la Frontera,
in the south of the Sevillian countryside. Our company was created
to meet the demand for a product that is unique in the world: the
Sevillian table olive. The main objective that Aceitunas Guadalquivir
S. A. strives for daily is to prepare, produce, package and market
olives of the highest quality and to provide the best services to our
clients. At present, it is one of the principal companies in olive
packaging and commercialization in the national market as well as
in exportation. We have two factories in Morón de la Frontera and
a 50% participation in two other factories in Argentina.

Amanida S.A. is a Spanish company that produces olives and pickles.
With a strong position in the national market, our short term
objectives are directed towards the international market.
Our focus is on maximum quality and the state-of-the-art technology
we use in the making of our products is manifested in our product
lines: GoldeN Family, which includes virgin olive oil, and Export
Family.
Besides green and black table olives, we also produce gherkins,
pickled onions, sweet peppers and white garlic (which do not smell
or taste hot). The white garlic is an exclusive and revolutionary
product, both for the hostelry trade and the private customer. Rich

Beloyana has a single-estate olive grove and “almazara” (olive press)

Atunes del Maresme (Tunamar) is a company based in Andalusia,

products. Tunamar sources the majority of its raw material from
the rich Atlantic Ocean fishing grounds where we access fish directly
