Media Alert: The Lettermen Concerts in Central Florida
Will Bring Christmas Joy to Many
For three years, The Lettermen have performed benefit concerts in Central Florida to support charities serving the
homeless and have raised over $185,000 in the process. This December, the famous vocal male trio will lend their
voices to charity for the fourth year in a row, performing Christmas classics along with some of their most loved
and requested hits for the annual Concert Tour for the Homeless to support the programs and services of Catholic
Charities of Central Florida that help prevent homelessness in our community.
The Lettermen, whose greatest hits include “Put Your Head On My Shoulder,” "When I Fall in Love" and "Goin’
Out of My Head,” will perform at the following locations and times:
• Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., Our Lady of Hope Parish, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange
• Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2:30 p.m. St. Margaret Mary Winter Park($30 per ticket will include round-trip
transportation from St. Patrick parking lot. These tickets are on sale in our Parish office.)
• Thursday, Dec. 4, 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 3050 N. Highway A1A, Indialantic
• Friday, Dec. 5, 7 p.m. only, Holy Redeemer Parish, 1603 N. Thacker Ave., Kissimmee
The Concert Tour for the Homeless began in 2011 to benefit the critical needs of the homeless in Central Florida
and has grown from a single performance to seven performances at various parishes throughout the Diocese of
Orlando.
“These entertainers are full of faith and joy and that’s clearly visible when they perform and it’s also rare to find
that in the entertainment industry,” said Tony Rossi, local businessman who serves on the board of Catholic
Charities of Central Florida and is the concert organizer. “These concerts are a wonderful way to begin the holiday
season as they bring hope to so many people in need.”
Tickets are $25 for general admission and $45 for VIP. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit:
http://www.cflcc.org/ConcertTourfortheHomeless or call Renee Baker at 407-658-1818, ext. 2121.
Catholic Charities of Central Florida is the largest non-profit social service organization in Central Florida. Their mission
is to provide vital social services for people in need regardless of their religious, social, or economic background, to
improve lives of individuals, families and the community. These social services include: preventing homelessness,
alleviating hunger, providing access to healthcare, and caring for immigrants and refugees.

“Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of
these least ones, you did not do for me.” Jesus does
not make it easy for any of us when He says that.
Even those who practice stewardship faithfully, even
the best among us, have times when they may turn
their back on those in need. The Solemnity that we
celebrate today is popularly known as Christ the King.
It is in Church terms relatively new. Instituted in
1921 by Pope Pius XI, it was originally on the last
Sunday of October. It was renamed in 1969 by Pope
Paul VI and moved to its present date, which is the
last Sunday in the liturgical year, the last Sunday
before Advent. The edict issued by Pope Pius XI in
1925 was called Quas Primas. It stated “It has long
been a custom to give to Christ the metaphorical title
of ‘King.’ He is King of Hearts by reason of His ‘charity
which exceedeth all knowledge’.”
Today’s readings trace our Lord Jesus Christ from
“the shepherd who tends his flock” to the “first fruits”
to the “king.” As stewards of His Word, His Kingdom,
and His Hope, He invites us to see Him in everyone
we see and everyone we encounter so that we can
finally hear His glorious declaration, “Come, you who
are blessed by my Father.”
