World’s Migrant Day –Giornata Mondiale del Migrante:
L’Archidiocesi di Vancouver accoglie dei Cattolici da
diversi nazioni del mondo, e la Sta Messa viene celebrata
in 22 lingue. I migranti vanno in cerca di pace, sicurezza e
lavoro per se stessi e le loro famiglie. Come famiglie
credenti, siamo chiamati a vivere l’ospitalità e l’amore
verso il prossimo. L’Archidiocesi di Vancouver celebra la
giornata di preghiera e di prendere coscienza su questa
realtà il 19 Gennaio in Catedrale alle 2:30 pm. Vi
aspettiamo!
Giornata Scalabriniana: Chiediamo a tutti voi di pregare
per i Missionari Scalabriniani che svolgono il loro
apostolato tra i migranti e rifugiati in 32 nazioni del
mondo. Che la Congregazione Scalabriniana possa
continuare a servire la Chiesa e il mondo. Allora, la
seconda colletta sarà in appoggio alle Missione
Scalabriniane nel mondo.
Preghiera per l’Unità di tutti i Cristiani: Questa giornata di
preghiera comincerà il 18 fino al 25 Gennaio. Preghiamo
perché coloro che siamo stati consacrati per mezzo di un
solo battesimo possiamo formare un solo ovile, sotto un

La fede ci fa guardare a tutti gli uomini come fratelli. È
la fede che in tutti gli avvenimenti di quaggiù, lieti o
triste, ci fa vedere la mano pietosa di Dio che tutto

The Baptism of the Lord: It is a liturgical feast and marks
the conclusion of Christmas Season. The Baptism of Jesus
is on his part the acceptance and inauguration of his
mission as God’s suffering servant (CCC 536).

World’s Migrant Day: The Archdiocese of Vancouver is
home to Catholics from many countries and where the
Holy Mass is celebrated in twenty two languages.
Migrants leave their homes in search of a better life and
face the difficult experience of migration in its various
forms. As Christians, we are called to reach out to and
pray for all migrants to emphasize the unity of the human
family and the values of acceptance, hospitality and love
of neighbor. Archbishop Miller invites you to join him at
the Holy Rosary Cathedral for Holy Mass on Sunday,
January 19, 2014 at 2:30pm. A cultural reception will
follow in the parish hall. This is “100th World Day of
Migrants and Refugees; the theme is “Towards a Better
World.”
Scalabrinian Sunday: Please pray for the Scalabrinian
Missionaries working with migrants and refugees around
the world. May the Scalabrinian Congregation continue
to offer their service to the Church & the World. On Jan
19 there will be a second collection for this Pastoral work.
Knight of Columbus –Charity Appeal Draw 2014: Be part
of it and support us. There are amazing prizes and several
opportunities to win! Tickets on sale after the Masses.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: It begins on Jan. 18
until 25. The theme is “Has Christ been divided? (1 Cor.
1:13), and is prepared by churches and Christian
communions in Canada. In a world marked by diversity in
language and culture, we express our Christian faith in
diverse ways. During this Week we are called to celebrate
this diversity and be faithful to Christ’s call for the unity
of his Church. All are invited to join with brothers and
sisters of various churches in prayer, song, and witness to

Women’s Support group: Would you like to improve your
self-esteem, confidence, authenticity and relationship
with self and others? DAS-OLGC, Surrey is running a 10week series starting January 16- 1 to 2 pm aimed at
providing women with practical skills to be used in times

Kindergarten 2014-2015: If you have a child born in 2009
and are interested in enrolling him/her at OLS Elementary

Jornada Mundial del Emigrante y Refugiado 2014: La
Arquidiócesis de Vancouver es hogar para muchos
católicos de diversos países y en donde la Santa Misa se
celebra en 22 idiomas. Los migrantes dejan su hogar en
búsqueda de una vida mejor y se enfrentan a la difícil
experiencia de la migración en sus diversas formas. Como
cristianos, estamos llamados a orar y ayudar a todos los
migrantes para enfatizar la unidad de la familia humana y
el valor de la aceptación, la hospitalidad y el amor al
prójimo. El Arzobispo Miller nos invita a la Santa Misa el
domingo 19 de enero 2014 a las 2:30 pm en la Catedral
Holy Rosary. Concluida la celebración eucarística habrá
una recepción cultural en el salón parroquial. Esta es la
100 Jornada Mundial del Emigrante y del Refugiado, cuyo
tema es "Hacia un mundo mejor".
Domingo Scalabriniano: Recemos por todos los
Misioneros Scalabrinianos que sirven a los migrantes y
refugiados en más de 32 países alrededor del mundo.
Recemos para que la Congregación Scalabriniana pueda
seguir sirviendo a la Iglesia y al mundo. La segunda colecta
del próximo domingo será para esta labor pastoral.
Semana de Oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos: Será
del 18 al 25 de enero. El tema es: ¿Cristo estuvo dividido?
Oremos para que quienes fuimos consagrados por un
