INFANT BAPTISMS
For children under 8 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the
FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The par ents must r egister in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both
parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session
in
advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church,
children over the age of 8 will need catechetical pr epar ation
through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will participate in
separate RCIA pr ocesses.

EL BAUTISMO DE NIÑOS
Solamente para los niños menores de los 8 años de edad, se celebra
el sacramento el SEGUNDO y el CUARTO domingo del mes a las
2:00 pm. Es preciso que los padres se inscriban en la parroquia por
lo menos 4 semanas antes del bautismo. Ambos padres y padrinos
deberán asistir a una instrucción catequética, la noche del Miercoles
anterior al bautizo a las 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTOS DE LA INICIACIÓN CRISTIANA
Con el propósito de participar plenamente en la vida sacramental de
la Iglesia, los niños mayores de los 8 años de edad, necesitarán
prepararse en el proceso de Iniciación Cristiana Para Niños. Los
jóvenes y los adultos se preparán separadamente en el proceso del
RICA.

sincerely thank Sister Pat, the volunteer catechists and the assistants who have worked with such great dedication
and zeal throughout the year. We also remind all the students to continue their faithful participation at Sunday Mass

Dear Parishioners,
Holy Spirit Come! This weekend we celebrate Pentecost! This celebration is the
culmination of the Easter Season. It celebrates what Jesus promised, the coming of the Holy Spirit. In the
alleluia verse after the Sequence, we hear the traditional prayer, “Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of your love.” We can give thanks to God for the beautiful occasions and ways that
the Holy Spirit enables us to say by our words and deed that Jesus is Lord (1 Cor 12:3). On Pentecost this year, we
give thanks that over 90 youth and young adults of our parish come forward to be sealed with the gift of the Holy
Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Last Friday, we celebrated our Feast Day, Our Lady of Fatima. It was on
May 13, 1917 that the Blessed Mother appeared to three children: Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. Our Blessed Mother’s message was to pray and repent. It is the Holy Spirit that helps us to respond to this message of Our Lady
and to come closer to the heart of Jesus and Mary. Next Sunday, May 22nd we will welcome the Pilgrim Virgin
Statue of Our Lady of Fatima at the 12pm Mass. We will remember that 100 years ago, in the Spring of 1916, the
Angel of Peace appeared to the three children to prepare them for the appearance of the Blessed Mother. The
Angel told them to say the prayer, “My God, I believe, I adore, I trust, and I love You. I beg pardon for those who
do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love You.” Let us ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with his love
so we may believe, adore and trust in God just as Mary, our Mother did. In this way, we may be more open to the
new life of Christ in our lives. Happy Easter!

Queridos Feligreses:
Ven Espíritu Santo! Este fin de semana celebramos Pentecostés! Esta celebración es la culminación de la temporada de Pascua. Se celebra lo que Jesús prometió, la venida del Espíritu Santo. En el verso Aleluya después de la
secuencia, oímos la oración tradicional, "Ven Espíritu Santo llena los corazones de tus fieles y enciende en ellos
el fuego de tu amor." Podemos dar gracias a Dios por las hermosas ocasiones y formas que el Santo espíritu nos
permite decir con nuestras palabras y con las obras que Jesús es el Señor (1 Co. 12: 3). En Pentecostés este año,
damos gracias a más de 90 jóvenes y adultos jóvenes de nuestra parroquia vienen hacia adelante para ser sellado
con el don del Espíritu Santo en el Sacramento de la Confirmación. El viernes pasado, celebramos nuestra Fiesta
a Nuestra Señora de Fátima. Era un 13 de mayo, 1917, que la Virgen se apareció a tres niños: Lucía, Francisco y
Jacinta. el mensaje de Nuestra Madre Santísima era rezar y arrepentirse. Es el Espíritu Santo que nos ayuda a
responder a este mensaje de Nuestra Señora y acercarnos al corazón de Jesús y de María. El próximo domingo, 22
de mayo daremos la bienvenida a la Virgen Peregrina Internacional de la Virgen de Fátima en la misa de 12 pm.
Recordemos que hace 100 años, en la primavera de 1916, el Ángel de la Paz apareció a los tres niños para prepararlos para la aparición de la Santa Madre. El ángel les hizo decir la oración, "Dios mío, yo creo, adoro, espero y
te amo. Yo pido perdón por los que no creen, no adoran, no confían, y no te aman.” Pidamos al Espíritu Santo
que nos llene de su amor para que podamos creer, adorar y confiar en Dios como María, nuestra Madre hizo. De
esta manera podemos estar más abiertos a la nueva vida de Cristo en nuestras vidas. ¡Felices Pascuas!

Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will take place at
our 12pm Mass. To facilitate the increased number visitors for
this Mass, we ask that our parishioners please cooperate in the
following ways:
1) If you do not need to use your car, please walk to church.
2) If you & other parishioners need to come by car please
consider carpooling.
3) Parishioners attending the 10:30am Mass who are not staying for the 12pm Mass, please Exit the church as soon as possible after the 10:30am Mass
ends especially if your car is parked in the parking lot.

THE FULLNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The church wakes up to an amazing message this morning. Look around and see who has been
called. Listen to the voices of those who proclaim Jesus is Lord. You’ll find no race of people left out; you’ll
find no language on earth unfit to proclaim the glory of God. We call Pentecost Sunday the “birthday of the
church.” In many ways, the church is still being born. Only when we all know the peace Jesus offered in today’s Gospel will we really know the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
St. Paul assures us in today’s second reading that “all of us have been given to drink of the one
Spirit.” When we look around us in the church we should see everyone. But we don’t. Not yet. What is holding us back from fully embracing the one Body of Christ? When will we see our differences as manifestations of the same Holy Spirit?
TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
Hoy celebramos la Pascua de Pentecostés. Esta es una de las tres Pascuas que celebramos los
cristianos. Las otras dos son la Pascua de Resurrección (o Pascua Florida) y la Pascua del Nacimiento de
Jesús. Estas tres solemnidades cristianas celebran tres momentos claves en el plan de salvación: la Encarnación del Verbo Divino (Jesús), su Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección y el descenso de su Espíritu Santo sobre la Iglesia. Pascua viene siendo el nombre de la principal solemnidad del calendario Judío y recuerda la
liberación del pueblo de Israel de la esclavitud. Los cristianos hemos tomado ese nombre por reconocernos
como descendientes de Abraham y porque en nuestras tres pascuas celebramos que Jesús viene a salvarnos, o sea, a liberarnos del pecado y sus consecuencias tanto personales como sociales. En muchas
partes el titulo de Pascua se ha dejado para hablar de la fiesta de la Navidad y la fiesta de Pentecostés.
Esto es una lástima ya que el recordar la Pascua debe impulsar al cristiano a obrar por la liberación de todos para que el mundo se salve por Jesucristo.
