ORIGEN
Origen es el inicio, el principio de una nueva andadura llena de ilusión, ahora por la senda
de los papeles pintados. De ella nacerán futuras colecciones que reforzarán y aumentarán
la propuesta decorativa de Gastón y Daniela. Es una prueba más del constante espíritu
renovador de la firma, sin renunciar a sus raíces.
Para esta colección se han elegido una serie de diseños emblemáticos y característicos de
Gastón y Daniela, como Linneo, alegre y colorido, o la muy especial Toile de Jouy Guayana,
adaptando el dibujo a su nuevo uso. Con el diseño Almendros volvemos a encontrarnos
con motivos naturalistas, no faltan los inspirados en los años 60, como Caleidoscopio, ya
con motivos geométricos, o Villefranche, figurativa. Encontraremos también en nuestra
primera colección de papeles pintados sofisticados y distinguidos diseños, como los de
Laberinto y Marquina, que con el contraste de sus diferentes acabados aportan un aire
totalmente contemporáneo.
Origen ofrece, además, una amplia gama de rayas en diferentes anchos y efectos,
representada por Florencia, Lucca y Milán, de una estilizada simplicidad. Todos los
diseños se ofrecen en muy diversos colores, desde el turquesa o el rojo hasta los tonos
crudos, y no podían faltar los que nos llevan hacia lo mineral y profundo, hacia la tierra:
acero, antracita, oro, ocre, titanio, plata, berenjena, terracota, plomo…
Origen is the beginning, the first step on a new exciting journey; this time, down the path of
wallpapers. The collection shows the way to future collections that will strengthen and diversify
Gastón y Daniela’s decorative portfolio. It is another proof of our brand’s renewing spirit, yet
staying true to its roots.
For this collection, we have chosen a selection of emblematic and characteristic Gastón y Daniela
designs as Linneo, bright and colorful, or the very special Toile de Jouy Guayana in a new
reading adapting its pattern to the new purpose. In the design Almendros we revisit naturalistic
drawings. The collection also contains designs inspired in the 1960s, as Caleidoscopio showing
geometric patterns, or Villefranche, a descriptive print. Our first wallpaper collection combines
sophistcation and distinguished designs such as Laberinto or Marquina. The contrast between its
different textures creates a completely contemporary flair.
Besides a broad range of stripes in different widths and effects presented in Florencia, Lucca and
Milán, Origen also offers a sophisticated simplicity. All designs are available in a very diverse
color palette, from turquoise or red to ecru tones and, finally, shades that take us deep into the
world of minerals; into the earth: steel, anthracite, gold, ochre, titanium, silver, eggplant and
terracotta, lead…

El nombre de este diseño es un pequeño homenaje al famoso botánico
sueco LINNEO. Se basa en un grabado de finales del s.XIX en el que frutos,
flores e insectos crean una preciosa composición.
The name of this design was chosen as a small homage to the genius botanist
LINNEO. It is based on engravings of the end of the 19 th century in wich fruits,
flowers and insects create a closed composition.

Diseño basado en un documento de archivo de Gastón y Daniela. Es una
Toile de Jouy en una versión actual que juega con elementos botánicos muy
descriptivos. Posee gran sutileza y ligereza debido a cómo se ha calculado
la disposición de los distintos elementos. Todo ello le confiere un carácter
muy contemporáneo. Se aprecia el magnífico trabajo de grabación.
Design based on documents of the Gaston y Daniela archive. An updated Toile
de Jouy that plays around with very descriptive botanical elements. The layout
of the different components provides it with great subtleness and lightness,
which confers a very contemporary character. The magnificent etching work is
unmistakable.
