MULTI-LANGUAGE MESSAGE LINE
In an effort to better support our families whose home language is not English, we have created a multi-language
message line for our highest populations of non-English
speaking families: Spanish, Punjabi, Russian/Ukrainian,
and Vietnamese. The line will be checked daily
for messages. With this new line, we plan to
bridge communication gaps with families who
do not speak English and who may be reluctant
to relay information about their child or ask questions of
staff.
Please remember to share this number with families and
staff who may find this line useful.

Q & A WITH MRS. HANES
Questions and Answers from
our Library Media Teacher:
Mrs. Hanes
Mrs. Hanes, what was your very first job?
I started babysitting when I was 11. My first
official job was as a salesclerk in the men’s
department at Sears.
When did you decide you wanted to work
with children?
I loved helping out with my younger siblings
as a kid. When I was in middle school. My
mom became a teacher, and I loved the idea of
spending all day helping kids learn! What a
rewarding thing to do!
What do you find is the most satisfying
part of your job?
I absolutely love building relationships with
students. I love when students know I value
and care about them.
If you could trade places with any celebrity
for one day, who would it be and why?
J.K. Rowling. My dream in elementary school
was to be a famous, published author, and
Rowling wrote my favorite children’s series! I
would love to have her literary brilliance and
imagination for a day!
Do you have a favorite book, movie or
quote that has inspired you? If so, would
you share it with us?
“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience. Forgive one
another…And over all these virtues put on
love, which binds them all together in perfect
unity.”

ANTI-BULLYING ASSEMBLY
Throughout the month of Feb. and March, 12 fourth and
fifth grade Leadership students participated in writing, creating and producing an anti bullying presentation for the intermediate students in our school. These students gave actual
examples of how to deal with bullies and presented the material in a humorous manner. This was done in conjunction
with their school counselor, Jeannie Dodd and a generous
grant from the Allied Arts. See the photos below for their
final production.
