The vineyard stories from Isaiah and Ma hew both talk about evildoers coming to a bad end. In Isaiah, it’s the vineyard itself that produces “wild grapes” instead of the crop the owner dreamed of and worked for. So it will be “trampled” and “overgrown with thorns.” In Ma hew, those to whom the owner leased the vineyard de‐ stroy the dream. So the owner “will put those wretched men to a wretched death and lease his vineyard to other ten‐ ants” (Ma hew 21:41). Yes, if we reject divine love we come to a bad end. And with all this talk of the unfaithful being trampled and thrown out, it’s consoling to hear Paul’s message to the Philip‐ pians, who were by no means perfect. “Have no anxiety at all,” Paul said. For this reason, the mission ad gentes continues to be most urgent. All the members of the Church are called to participate in this mission, for the Church is missionary by her very nature: she was born “to go forth.” The Evangelist tells us that the Lord sent the seventy-two disciples two by two into cities and villages to proclaim that the Kingdom of God was near, and to prepare people to meet Jesus After carrying out this mission of preaching, the disciples returned full of joy: joy is a dominant theme of this first and unforgettable missionary experi-ence. Yet the divine Master told them: “Do not rejoice because the demons are subject to you; but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” World Mission Sunday is a privileged moment when the faithful of various continents engage in prayer and concrete gestures of solidarity in support of the young Churches in mission lands. World Mission Sunday is a celebration of grace and joy. All the Lord’s disciples are called to nurture the joy of evangelization. World Mission Sunday is also an occasion to rekindle the desire and the moral obligation to take joyful part in the mission ad gentes. A monetary contribution on the part of individuals is the sign of a self-offering, first to the Lord and then to others; in this way a material offering can become a means for the evangelization of humanity built on love. World Mission Sunday is an invitation to immerse yourself in the joy of the Gospel and nurture a love that can light up your vocation and your mission. Dear brothers and sisters, on this World Mission Sunday my thoughts turn to all the local Churches. Let us not be robbed of the joy of evangelization! It is the Catholic Church’s way of extending an invitation to those who wish to know more about the Catholic Church. The Rite is a spiritual journey that takes place within a community of believers. Therefore, this rite is referred to as a process rather than a class or program. Who's RCIA for? Those who feel it is time to begin a journey towards baptism. Those baptized Christians who wish to explore entering into full communion in the Catholic Church faith. Those baptized Catholics who wish to complete their Sacraments of initiation, Confirmation and Eucharist. How do I Begin? The first step is to simply attend and inquiry session. You do not need to call or register These sessions are designed to answer your general questions At your initial session, you will arrange to meet with the director of initiation At this meeting the individual or family inquiring will be warmly received, personal questions will be answered, and particular needs will be assessed. Each person’s journey is different, therefore, the path and “time-line” for preparing for initiation varies with the individual needs of each person. When are Inquiry Sessions? Inquiry Sessions beginning now on Sundays from 8:30 AM –10:15 AM in the Holy Family room. There is no need to call or register. You are welcome any time! For Questions call Steve Toll cell number 661-4063935 call or text or email Mary Rose Toll at 661-406-3458 maryrose [email protected] or Debbie Castillo 661-538-1985. Though safety inside school is ultimately the responsibility of the principal and school staff, parents can take a few basic steps to ensure a safe school experience.” Learn the school's emergency procedures. Emergency plans and phone numbers are usually included in school handbooks and posted in classrooms. Taking a few extra minutes to familiarize yourself and your child with emergency information can give him the confidence he needs to act quickly in emergency situations.
