STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
WEEKLY OFFERING
Am I my brother’s keeper? All three readings today suggest that for the Christian steward the answer is “Yes!”
The weekly offering is extremely important to St. Anne Parish in order to meet our operational responsibilities. We ask that you prayerfully consider a consistent offering that will assist in meeting those
responsibilities. For your consideration: Sign up for the Weekly Envelope Program by registering with St. Anne.
A convenient method is through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
This method is an easy way to provide St. Anne with your Sunday
Offering. Enroll in a Script Program. This is a no cost way of supporting our ministries and programs, in addition to our weekly offerings.
Your generosity is your return to the Lord for his goodness to you.
Make an investment in the reign of God today!
PENSAMIENTO ADMINISTRATIVO
Soy yo quien cuida a mi hermano? Las tres lecturas de hoy,
sugieren que la respuesta de un Lider Cristiano es: SI
Nurses Notes
Common Cold
When to see a doctor
For Adults - seek medical attention if you have:
 Fever of 103 F (39.4 C) or higher
 Fever accompanied by sweating, chills and a cough with colored
phlegm
 Significantly swollen glands
 Severe sinus pain
For Children - in general, children are sicker with a common cold
than adults are and often develop complications, such as ear infections. Your child doesn’t need to see the doctor for a routine common cold. But seek medical attention right away if your child has any
of the following signs or symptoms:
 Fever of 103 F (39.4 C) or higher in children age 2 or older
 Fever of 102 F (38.9 C) or higher in children ages 6 wks to 2 yrs.
 Fever of 199 F (37.8 C) in newborns up to 6 weeks
 Signs of dehydration, such as urinating less often than usual
 Not drinking adequate fluids
 Fever that lasts more than three days
 Vomiting or abdominal pain
 Unusual sleepiness
 Severe headache
 Stiff neck
 Difficulty breathing
 Persistent crying
 Ear Pain
 Persistent cough
If symptoms in a child or an adult last longer that 10 days, call your
doctor.
Next Week: Causes & Risk Factors
PLEASE- Remember to use the phone in the office or at
the AV area in the hall and not a cell phone to call 911.
Your cell phone will reach Sacramento CHP and precious
time will be wasted.

Can you provide an occasional ride to a senior?
Caring Hands Volunteers
A Program of John Muir Health
We need your help! In just a couple of hours a week as a volunteer you can provide an occasional ride to the doctor, to the store or
just a friendly visit to a senior who is trying to remain in their own homes as long as possible. Caring Hands’ mission it to create
“matches” between caring volunteers and seniors who may be isolated and in need of non medical assistance to stay on their own.
Now we know many just need a ride now and then. Currently we have over 100 seniors in the Caring Hands program who just need an
occasional ride. Can you help? You may be the person who helps someone maintain their independence a little longer. We all have
many losses over the years. One of the toughest losses after the loss of a loved one is the loss of our driver’s license. Losing a driver’s license can cause dependence on others to do even the simplest task. There is also the risk of becoming isolated which may lead
to a move to an assisted living facility before it is necessary. Each senior’s needs are different but what is constant about a Caring
Hands volunteer and their senior is the relationship that develops.
Please consider joining us.
Feed Your Soul – Volunteer
If you have can provide a ride occasionally or can give 1 to 3 hours a week to one person, please call and learn more about becoming a
Caring Hands volunteer. It will change your life and the life of a senior as well.
Our next trainings:
Friday September 23, 2011 at the John Muir Outpatient Center – Brentwood
Friday November 18, 2011 at the John Muir Medical Center – Concord.
Imagine the look on the senior’s face if they saw you arriving each week and you were there because you wanted to be there.
Call Linda Groobin at 925 952-2999
Check our website: www.johnmuirhealth.com/ get involved “volunteer”
An orientation/interview is required before coming to our training.
