de Tenerife
Santa Cruz de Tenerife se sitúa en el extremo oriental de
la isla de Tenerife, la más grande del archipiélago canario,
a una latitud norte de 28º 28’ y a una longitud oeste
de 16º 15’. El término municipal tiene una superficie de
150,56 kilómetros cuadrados y está dividido en dos ámbitos bien diferenciados: de un lado el antiguo Macizo de
Anaga y de otro, la rampa meridional formada por coladas que abarcan desde la cumbre de Acentejo hasta la
costa. La altitud máxima que se alcanza en el municipio
es de 750 metros sobre el nivel del mar aunque hay zonas céntricas como la Plaza de España que se elevan tan
sólo 4 metros. Más de la mitad del perímetro municipal
está ocupado por superficie costera (58 kilómetros de
costa en 111 kilómetros de perímetro municipal).
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is located at the eastern end
of the island of Tenerife, the largest in the Canaries,
at a latitude of 28º 28’ north and a longitude of 16º
15’ west. The municipal district has an area of 150.56
square kilometres and is divided into two well-differentiated areas: on the one hand, there is the old Anaga
Massif and on the other, the southern ramp formed by
lava flows which run from the peak of Acentejo down
to the coast. The maximum height above sea level in
the municipal area is 750 metres although there are
central areas such as Plaza de España which are only
at four metres. Over half the municipal perimeter is
occupied by coastline (58 kilometres of coast on 111
kilometres of perimeter).

La autopista norte de la isla TF-5 en el caso de viajeros provenientes del
norte de la isla o el aeropuerto Los Rodeos (TFN). Para quienes que accedan desde el sur de la isla o que arriven al aeropuerto Reina Sofía (TFS) el
acceso a la ciudad se lleva a cabo a través de la autopista sur TF-1.

The island’s northern motorway, TF-5, in the case of travellers from the
north of the island or Los Rodeos Airport (TFN). For those coming from
the south of the island or who arrive at Reina Sofía Airport (TFS), access
is gained to the city by the southern motorway, the TF-1.

En el puerto de Santa Cruz de Tenerife atracan barcos de compañías de
transporte marítimo provenientes de las islas de Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura y Lanzarote. Los viajeros provenientes de las islas de La Gomera,
La Palma y El Hierro, atracan en el puerto de Los Cristianos, en el sur de
la isla, por lo que acceden a la ciudad por carretera tomando la TF-1.

Ferries from the islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote
berth in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The travellers from the islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro come to the port of Los
Cristianos, in the south of the island, with the result that they reach the
city by the TF-1.

Santa Cruz, it is possible to see how this
city gazes upon the sea without losing
sight of the silhouette of the volcanic
mountains which announce that Mount
Teide is nearby. While the lift reaches the
upper floors of a modern, almost futuristic
façade with glints of steel, it is possible to
contemplate the beauty of a city which is
above all a luxuriant garden. The Atlántida
Santa Cruz, inaugurated in late 2001, is
close to three new icons of the capital: the
