From The Pastor’s Desk
hat a
great
experience to be traveling to
Lithuania and Poland for a
discernment retreat with 20
young pilgrims ranging in age
from 17 to 24. My classmate,
Father Joe Fitzgerald who is
the Vocation Director asked
Sister Bonaventure and Sister
Catherine who are Missionary
Sisters of St. Benedict and
myself to assist in giving a
We arrived at the
seminary during the night,
going into Thursday morning.
We spent the next five days
on this beautiful retreat with
this wonderful group of
discerners. I gave a talk on
the last day about making
choices. Closing off certain
options that are good but
allowing the Lord to open
new doors and to enter into it
as in the Holy Door opening
ones heart to God’s love and
Discernment Retreat to this
wonderful group of young
adults.
Each of the young adults is
considering a religious
vocation. We began our time
in Vilnius, Lithuania where we
saw the original image of the
Divine Mercy and also
offered Mass at a monastery
at the Hill of Crosses before
our long journey. That first
day and a half brought us to
the Seminary St. Byalistock in
northeastern Poland.

spent time visiting Augudto
and other areas where St.
John Paul II spent time with
young people canoeing and
enjoying the country.

Byalistock to Kraków for the
World Youth Day ceremonies
with Pope Francis, we
stopped at the Mother House
of the Missionary Sisters of
Saint Benedict where the
sisters warmly welcomed us
including our auxiliary
bishops, Bishop Andrzej
Zglejszewski, Bishop Nelson
Perez and Bishop Bob
Brennan who were traveling
with us from the north to
Kraków to meet up with the
rest of the 350 pilgrims from
the Diocese of Rockville
Centre.

Conociendo la pasión que ustedes le ponen a la misión, me
animo a repetir: la misericordia siempre tiene rostro joven.
Porque un corazón misericordioso se anima a salir de su
comodidad; un corazón misericordioso sabe ir al encuentro
de los demás, logra abrazar a todos. Un corazón
misericordioso sabe ser refugio para los que nunca tuvieron
casa o la han perdido, sabe construir hogar y familia para
aquellos que han tenido que emigrar, sabe de ternura y
compasión. Un corazón misericordioso, sabe compartir el
pan con el que tiene hambre, un corazón misericordioso se
abre para recibir al prófugo y al emigrante. Decir
misericordia junto a ustedes, es decir oportunidad, es decir
mañana, es decir compromiso, es decir confianza, es decir
apertura, hospitalidad, compasión, es decir sueños. Por eso,
queridos amigos, nos hemos reunidos porque no queremos
falsas ilusiones.
Jesucristo es quien sabe darle verdadera pasión a la vida,
Jesucristo es quien nos mueve a no conformarnos con poco y
nos lleva a dar lo mejor de nosotros mismos; es Jesucristo
quien nos cuestiona, nos invita y nos ayuda a levantarnos
cada vez que nos damos por vencidos. Es Jesucristo quien
nos impulsa a levantar la mirada y a soñar alto.
Y quien acoge a Jesús, aprende a amar como Jesús. La
misericordia tiene siempre rostro joven; Señor lánzanos a la

El grupo, Jóvenes Renovados en Cristo, se reúne los martes a

Curso Pre-Bautismal
El curso se da el último domingo de cada mes a la 1:30 PM en
el Apostolado Hispano en Southampton o a las 5:00 PM en la
iglesia en East Hampton. En junio el curso será el domingo, 28
de agosto. Favor de llevar la copia del acta de nacimiento del
niño. Los bautizos en Hampton Bays serán el 9 de julio, el 13
de agosto, el 10 de sept., el 8 de octubre, el 12 de noviembre y
el 10 de diciembre.
Requisitos para el Bautismo de un Niño
Curso: Para bautizar a su hijo, es necesario que los padres y
padrinos asistan al curso pre-bautismal.
Padrinos: Debe escoger a los padrinos conscientes de los
requisitos. Los padrinos tienen que ser católicos bautizados,
confirmados y que han hecho su Primera Comunión y deben
poder comulgar. El padrino (madrina) debe ser soltero(a) o
casado(a) por la iglesia.

foundress of Peace Through Divine
Mercy. Kathleen's mission and work
is to have EVERY parish enthrone the
image of Divine Mercy in a visible
place in the Church, so that this all
important message given to St.
Faustina will bring about the conversion of the world.
The cost is $35 per person, and
payment must be received by September 6. Checks should be made

Jesus says to his disciples: “I have come

fire, and how I wish
it were already
blazing! There is a
baptism with which I must be baptized, and how great is my anguish
until it be accomplished.”
