Español II is the continuation course of the Español I class you took during the Fall Term. It provides you with the
second, and final credit, you will need in order to meet your Foreign Language requirement for graduation.
The course focuses on the speaking and listening modalities of learning a new language. We will divide our course
of study in the home and neighborhood; school, time, and schedules; hobbies and occupations; recreation, clothing, and
food; and vacation plans.
This syllabus will provide the major summative assessments you will complete to prove understanding of the topics

and exams that are given to you at the end of a

• Academic Behaviors are the prove that you understand the UAG way (work ethic, respect,
collaboration, accountability, etc)
• Attendance accounts for your daily, ON TIME physical and mental presence in class.
Due Dates & Deadlines
A due date is the date an assignment is due. After
that due date, 10% of final grade will be taken off daily.
A deadline is the last day the assessment can be
submitted and still get a passing grade.
What if I am absent?
If you were present on the day the assessment was assigned, you are responsible for
submitting it by the due date to avoid points being taken off, whether or not you will be
present in school.
If you are absent, you are responsible for emailing me that same day to find out what
you missed. You will be responsible for submitting the assigned work, two school days
after your return (for example, if you return on a Tuesday, you must submit the work by
Thursday) in order to avoid points being taken off.
Academic Honesty
Online Translators are a source that should be used for easy access of information and
new vocabulary, and SHOULD NOT be used to write your assignments for you.
Friends/Family Members are a great resource for understanding a new language and
practicing it. They are not however, your personal writers.
Work that is produced by someone other than you, or through use of online translators,
will result in a failing grade for the assignment that CANNOT be made up! This rule will
be strictly enforced during the Spring Term.
