For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying
that we are born to Eternal Life.
Mission Statement
St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Anderson SC was founded in 1943 by the
Franciscans of the Holy Name Province, New York. The intention then and today, was
and is to, in the spirit of Jesus Christ and St. Francis, minister in and with the African
American Catholic community and to reach out to the African Americans of Anderson
County. Furthermore, all who come to St. Mary’s from whatever background and
ethnicity with a desire for Christian family will be regarded as brothers and sisters to
us. We also see ourselves as called to live in Gospel relationship to the alienated and the
poor of this community.

INFANCY NARRATIVES
Both the theme and the short length of this study (3 sessions) make it
ideal for Advent study. It focuses on the opening chapters of Matthew
and Luke, the only gospels which describe the wondrous events
surrounding the birth of the Messiah. This study also explores the many
significant connections these two gospels make between the Old
Testament and the birth of the Savior. Rich insights will be made as these
two gospels are opened to reveal the special contribution each makes to
our understanding of Jesus' nativity. Deepen your longing for the
Messiah's coming again and ask God to be Emmanuel, 'God with us.'

2016 BISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL UPDATE
As of October 31, 2016, our parish has raised $11,628 towards our
goal of $13,356. That is 81.76% of goal with 50 Donors out of a
total of 362 Parish Families which is only 13.81% participating.
The Bishop’s Annual Appeal funds critical ministries in our
diocese doing very important work. It is vital that every parish
participate to support the mission of the diocese. Through
charitable works, outreach, and education, we are making a
difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in need. If you
have not yet made a gift, please help us reach our parish’s
financial and participation goals. 50% OF ALL FUNDS RAISED
IN EXCESS OF OUR PARISH GOAL WILL BE RETURNED to
St Mary of the Angels in January so that we may continue the

La CENA de FAMILIA de la PARROQUIA de la NAVIDAD se llevará
a cabo el DOMINGO, el 4 de diciembre, de 3:00 a 5:00 PM para todos
los miembros y familias de St Mary. La carne será proporcionada. Las
hojas de inscripción estarán en el vestíbulo de la Iglesia. Todos los

~PRÓXIMOS EVENTOS PARROQUIALES~
NARRATIVAS DE LA INFANCIA
Tanto el tema como la corta duración de este estudio (3 sesiones) lo hacen
ideal para el estudio de Adviento. Se centra en los primeros capítulos de
Mateo y Lucas, los únicos evangelios que describen los maravillosos
acontecimientos que rodearon el nacimiento del Mesías. Este estudio
también explora las muchas conexiones significativas que estos dos
evangelios hacen entre el Antiguo Testamento y el nacimiento del
Salvador. Se harán visiones ricas a medida que estos dos evangelios se
abran para revelar la contribución especial que cada uno hace a nuestra
comprensión de la Natividad de Jesús. Profundice su anhelo por la
venida del Mesías otra vez y pídale a Dios que sea Emmanuel,
'Dios con nosotros'.

2016 ACTUALIZACIÓN ANUAL DE LA APELACIÓN DEL OBISPO
Al 31 de octubre de 2016, nuestra parroquia ha recaudado $ 11,628 para
nuestra meta de $ 13,356. Eso es 81.76% de la meta con 50 donantes de
un total de 362 Familias de la Parroquia que es solamente el 13.81% que
participa. La Apelación Anual del Obispo financia ministerios críticos en
nuestra diócesis haciendo un trabajo muy importante. Es vital que cada
parroquia participe para apoyar la misión de la diócesis. A través de
obras de caridad, evangelización y educación, estamos haciendo una
diferencia en la vida de nuestros hermanos y hermanas necesitados. Si
todavía no ha hecho un regalo, por favor, ayúdenos a alcanzar los
objetivos financieros y de participación de nuestra parroquia. 50% DE
TODOS LOS FONDOS RECIBIDOS EN EXCESO DE NUESTRA
