It is the annual celebration of the “Mass for New Catholics”, and it introduces them to the Cathedral as the Mother Church of the diocesan family. It also connects them in a symbolic way to the whole of the universal Church, as the Bishop’s chair and his office is connected to the Chair of Peter in Rome. Today is also “Stewardship Sunday” throughout the Archdiocese, rooted in the outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. All gifts come from God and are meant to be used well by the recipient in serving and building up the Body of Christ, the Church. This means we are “stewards” of God’s gifts, which are usually categorized in three ways: time, talent, & treasure. Today we are reminded that: - gratitude to God is essential - my “wants” are not the same as my “needs” - service to others is a norm of faith - generosity is a key virtue Think on these things and pray for an increase in possessing a joyful spirit. God Bless. Fr. Dion -Sunday Social: Come for coffee and simple refreshments at Holy Rosary Hall Sunday morning after the 9:30 & 11:00am Masses. Drop in after the 11:00am Mass today to celebrate with the new Catholics of our Archdiocese! PRAYER to Our Lady Spouse of the Holy Spirit O Mary, Mother of Jesus and my Mother, I venerate you a the Immaculate Spouse of the Holy Spirit. You are the glory of Jerusalem, the joy of Israel, the honor of our nation. As the valiant woman, you crushed the head of the serpent when you offered your Divine Son to the heavenly Father in the love of the Holy Spirit for the salvation of the world. I thank the Holy Spirit for having chosen you as His spouse and made you the dispenser of His graces. Look upon me with passionate eyes. Behold my distress and my needs. Help me never to lose the grace of God or defile the temple of the Spirit, that my heart may always remain His holy dwelling. May I become His faithful child on earth, so that I may share His eternal glory in heaven. -Anniversary Celebration for Father Ryszard We are happy to announce that next Sunday, May 26th , our Assistant Priest Fr.
