NOVEMBER’S CHARACTER
TRAIT: RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibility is this month’s character trait, and will be
represented by the color green. On Friday, November
13, there will be free dress down only if you wear green.
Also, there will be eegee’s, nachos, and Hot Cheetos ®
for sale after school.
PENNY WARS
Loose change becomes positive change! This month
we will be holding Penny Wars. The proceeds will
go to the purchase of turkeys and other items for
the holiday baskets. Encourage your child to bring
in pennies for their classroom’s jar. They can also
sabotage other classes by putting silver coins in their
jars. Please only send in coins. Let’s make a change
together.

LA PALOMA ACADEMY VOTED A TUCSON FAVORITE
In the Arizona Daily Star’s Best of Tucson voting, La Paloma was voted one of the top three charter schools in the city.
COOKIE TIME!
If you’re getting ready for holiday baking, this is sure to be
helpful. Beginning November 2, our annual Cookie Dough
Fundraiser kicks into gear. Order your cookie dough from
students and help our school. The sale concludes on
November 18.
COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER
Thursday, November 5, BJ’s Restaurant at 5510 E.
Broadway Blvd. will donate 15% of applicable sales to
La Paloma Academy Lakeside. Bring a flyer with you
and present it to your server to save on purchases made
between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m.
THE SCHOOL THAT PLAYS
TOGETHER …
stays together. During this month’s PIN night, join us
for Family Game Night from 6–7:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
November 10. There will be fun. There will be action. Bring
the whole family and enjoy playing with your kids, their
friends, and teachers.
SERVING OTHERS WEEK
The week of November 16, the La Paloma Academy
community will be focusing on serving those around us
in need.
Mon, Nov. 16: Write letters to servicemen
Tue, Nov. 17: Write thank you notes to
other students
Wed, Nov. 18: Bring in pet food or monetary donations for the Humane Society
Thu, Nov. 19: Pick up trash around the school
Fri, Nov. 20: Show appreciation to people who serve at our school
(i.e., letters, pictures, banners, kind words, etc.)

NEW PARENT-TEACHER DATA
MEETINGS SUCCESSFUL
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended
the Parent-Teacher Data Meetings. The teachers provided
detailed and thoughtful information to help each student
succeed, and we appreciate everyone’s participation and
support. We will be holding these meetings twice more
this school year (Jan. 6 and March 16).
Congratulations to Ms. Johnson’s and Ms. Cleaver’s
kindergarten class. They had the highest attendance!
There were 3 raffle prizes awarded to families who
attended. The winners were: Tommy Williams’ family
from Ms. Cambensy’s class (Jaclyn, Ricky, and his brother
William), who will enjoy $25 for pizza! Amari Noles’ family
from Ms. Parker’s class (Rachel Reyes and Brandon Noles,
with siblings Malakhi and Jada) will also enjoy $25 for
pizza! The grand prize, a $50 gift certificate, was awarded
to Johan Bouraima’s family (Goumi Bouraima)!
HARVEST FEST
Thank you all for joining us for our Harvest Fest. We all
had a great evening.
SNACK SHACK
The Snack Shack will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 3:15–4:15 p.m.

the web page, then click on “Teachers.” Each teacher’s

RESPONSABILIDAD
El rasgo de carácter de este mes es Responsabilidad y
estará representado por el color verde. El viernes,
13 de noviembre habrá vestido libre de uniformes sólo si
su hijo se veste en el color verde. También habrá eegees,
nachos, y Hot Cheetos® por venta después de la escuela.
GUERRA DE CENTAVOS
¡El cambio suelto se hace el cambio positivo! Este
mes vamos a celebrar la Guerra de Centavos. La
recaudación se destinará a la compra de pavos y otros
artículos para las canastas para el Día de dar Gracias.
Anime a su hijo para traer centavos para el tarro de su
salón. También pueden sabotear otras clases poniendo
monedas de plata en sus frascos. Por favor, sólo envíe
en monedas. Vamos a hacer un cambio juntos.

Este mes nuestra escuela se uniendo para
ayudar a traer un poco de alegría a las fiestas

TIEMPO DE GALLETAS!
Si estás preparando para la vacaciones de invierno, esto
seguramente te será útil. A partir del 2 de noviembre,
nuestra venta anual de masa para galletas para recaudar
fondos estará en venta. Pida su masa para galletas de
estudiantes y ayude a nuestra escuela. La venta concluye
el 18 de noviembre.
RECAUDACIÓN DE FONDOS DE
NUESTRA COMUNIDAD
El jueves, 5 de noviembre, el restaurante BJ’s en
5510 E. Broadway Blvd. donará 15% de las ventas
aplicables a La Paloma Academy Lakeside. Lleve un
volante con usted y preséntele a su servidor para ahorrar
en las compras realizadas entre 11 a.m.–11 p.m.
LA ESCUELA QUE JUEGA UNIDA
Se matiene unida. Durante este mes, únete a nosotros
para Noche de Familia y Juegos de 6–7:30 pm el martes,
10 de noviembre. Será divertido. Habrá acción. Traiga a
toda la familia y venga a disfruta jugar con sus hijos, sus
amigos y maestros.
SEMANA DE SERVIR A OTROS
La semana del 16 de noviembre, la comunidad de La
Paloma Academy se centrará en servir a los que nos
rodean y necesitan.

LAS NUEVAS JUNTAS DE PADRES
Y MAESTROS FUERON UN EXCITO
¡Gracias a todos los padres y tutores que asistieron a las
reuniones de Datos de Padres y Maestros! Los maestros
proporcionan información detallada y reflexiva para
ayudar a cada estudiante a tener éxito y agradecemos
la participación y el apoyo de todos. Llevaremos a cabo
estas reuniones dos veces más este año (el 6 de enero y
16 de marzo).
Felicitaciones a la clase de kindergarten de la Sra. Johnson
y Sra. Cleaver. ¡Tuvieron la asistencia más alta!
Tuvieron tres premios de la rifa otorgados a las familias
que asistieron. Los ganadores fueron: la familia de Tommy
Williams de la clase de la Sra. Cambensy (Jaclyn, Ricky, y
su hermano William) disfrutarán $25 para la pizza! Familia
