February 24, 2014
Diagnosing the Top Variable Valve Timing Problems
This one night seminar will prepare you to deal with mechanical and control failures, along with
providing techniques to make your diagnostics more efficient on Variable Valve Timing Systems.
VVT systems are used on most new engines to increase efficiency and reduce emissions. These
systems are well thought out, but they have problems which may present numerous pitfalls
for the technician during diagnosis and repair. The goal of this class is to focus on problem
areas on a variety of import and domestic vehicles. The technician will learn important scan
data PIDs and how they can lead to VVT diagnosis. Get ready to diagnose and service these
systems with field generated tips and service methods which you can put to use right away.

Diagnosing the Top Duramax Diesel Problems
This one night seminar will inform you of the fuel systems, emission systems, as well as provide
techniques to make your diagnostics more efficient on GM Duramax Diesel Engines. We
will cover the LB7, LLY, LBZ, LML, and LGH Duramax engines with a focus on fuel systems,
maintenance, and emission control systems. This class is designed both for those who are
new to the Duramax and for experienced diesel technicians. Field developed techniques will
shorten your diagnostic time while providing accurate results. Case studies will allow you to see
the techniques in action.

Diagnosing & Repairing Top Automotive HVAC Problems
This one night seminar will inform you of system operations, pattern failures, and provide techniques
to make your diagnosis and repair of automotive HAVC systems more efficient. The drive toward
increased fuel economy and reduced emissions has forced changes in current HVAC systems
that require additional knowledge. The goal of this class is to prepare the technician with the skills
needed to properly diagnose these systems, verify proper system operation, improve post repair
HVAC system performance, and reduce come backs.

Diagnosing the Top Powerstroke Diesel Problems
This class will prepare you with the required understanding of the systems in order to diagnose
and repair them. We will explain the many electronic sensors and modules that require sharp
diagnostic skills, electrical comprehension, and familiarity with module programming for proper
service. After a thorough introduction of the 6.7 liter diesel and its emerging issues, this class will
focus on the operating characteristics and common failures of the 6.0 and 6.4 liter engines that
are popular in the service bays today. Service opportunities on these engines include: EGR cooler,
head gasket, turbo, injectors, FICM, and high pressure oil systems.

Diagnosing the Top Toyota/Lexus Engine Performance Problems
Toyota engines and control systems have undergone numerous changes and their diagnostic
procedures have changed right along with them. Proper interpretation of scan data PIDs and the
use of bidirectional controls and other enhanced scan tool functions can speed your diagnosis
on these engines. The goal of this class is to prepare you to diagnose common problems on these
engine control systems in the shortest amount of time. During the class, case studies will be used
to demonstrate efficient diagnostic methods. Pattern failures and common pitfalls will be covered
that will help you to diagnose these vehicles quickly and accurately.

Diagnosing the Top GM Driveability Problems

Diagnosing Vehicle Electronics Problems
Today’s vehicles contain a complex mix of sensors, actuators, and control modules to perform
most functions. Raising a window can involve a switch module, door module, and body control
module in addition to the motor that does the work. A test light can only go so far in diagnosing
these circuits and jumper wires can spell disaster if used incorrectly. The goal of this class is to
prepare you to diagnose and repair problems in body, chassis, HVAC, and powertrain control
systems, as well as the data bus which connects them. Case studies will be used to demonstrate
techniques you can use to reduce the time spent on diagnosis.
