Letter from our Managing Director
Queridos amigos y clientes:
Dear Friends and Clients,
Es para mi un honor abrir nuevamente la puerta de nuestra
empresa a todos vosotros con esta nueva edición anual de la
revista “TM en Acción”.
2014 ha sido un año especial en el que hemos celebrado
nuestro 45º aniversario, por lo que en primer lugar quiero
daros las gracias por haber compartido con nosotros estos
años y ayudado a mantener viva la ilusión por el presente y
futuro que compartimos. Un presente y un futuro que nos
unen y nos retan, todavía más, a estar cerca de nuestros
clientes y seguir creciendo para que más familias puedan
disfrutar de una vida junto al mar.
2014 ha sido un año muy positivo. Más de 500 clientes han
confiado en TM. Clientes de 20 nacionalidades diferentes
han empezado a disfrutar de nuestros nuevos y exclusivos
residenciales en Costa Blanca. Se trata de los proyectos
Ocean View y Sea Senses, este último galardonado
recientemente con el premio “Mejor Proyecto Residencial,
España” en la edición europea de los prestigiosos Premios
Internacionales de la Vivienda (International Property
Awards).
En otro de nuestros proyectos estrella, Mar de Pulpí Pueblo
Mediterráneo, hemos conseguido crear un fantástico resort
en primera línea de playa orientado al disfrute y realización
de experiencias relacionadas con el deporte, la salud y la
calidad de vida. Un resort que esperamos se convierta en
un referente en el mundo del entrenamiento deportivo de
élite, pero que sin duda constituirá una gran opción de
ocio y descanso para todos los que deseen conocer este
maravilloso rincón almeriense.
Y, como no podía ser de otra forma, continuamos
trabajando en nuestros proyectos de Mallorca, Costa Blanca,
Murcia, México y Brasil con el mismo ahínco de siempre,
buscando la mejor de las recompensas: vuestra satisfacción.
Pero 2014 terminó, así que empezamos 2015 de cero
y esperando obtener un mejor resultado. Porque estoy
convencido de que la excelencia es un asunto a alcanzar
cada año y cada día, y cada momento es un paso más que
hay que dar para conseguirla.
Deseo que disfrutéis con estas páginas y que generen el
interés que necesitamos para continuar con vosotros otros
muchos años. Gracias a todos.

It is an honour for me to open our company doors once
again to all of you through this new issue of our annual “TM
in Action” magazine.
The year 2014 was a special year for us, during which we
celebrated out 45th anniversary, so first of all I would like to
thank all of you for having shared with us all these years and
having helped to keep our hopes and dreams alive for the
present and future. Both the present and the future unite
us, and even more, combine to challenge us to stay close
to our clients and continue to grow so that more and more
families can enjoy life close to the sea.
2014 was a highly positive year. Over 500 new clients
placed their trust in TM. People from 20 different countries
began enjoying our new and exclusive residential estates
on the Costa Blanca. These were the Ocean View and Sea
Senses projects, and the latter even won a recent award
for the “Best Residential Project, Spain” at the prestigious
International Property Awards held in Europe.
Another of our star projects, Mar de Pulpí Pueblo
Mediterraneo, is a fantastic beachfront resort designed
for enjoyment and experiences related to sports, health
and quality living. We hope this resort will soon become
a benchmark site in the world of elite sports training, but
without a doubt it is already a great option for leisure and
relaxation for all those who want to get acquainted with this
marvellous area of the Almería coast.
And, as usual, we continue work on our projects in Majorca,
Costa Blanca, Murcia, Mexico and Brazil with the same
determination as ever, always seeking the finest of rewards –
your satisfaction.
Now that 2014 is over, we are starting 2015 from scratch
and hope to obtain even better results throughout this
coming year. Because I am convinced that excellence is
something we achieve with every new day in every new year,
and every moment is another step forward in attaining it.
I hope you all enjoy reading these pages and that this new
issue renews your interest in TM so that we can stay by your
side for many years to come. Thanks to everyone for making
this happen.

bajas temperaturas y que no
tiene nada que ver con el suave
clima del litoral mediterráneo. Si
pudiéramos llevarles un poco de
sol, un pedacito de cálida arena
de playa y unos momentos de
vida mediterránea con esta revista
nos daríamos por satisfechos.

At TM we are an extended family, and
we enjoy spending time together. For this

with a family day in which nothing was missing

Tramontana
Situada al noroeste de la isla de
Mallorca, la Sierra de Tramontana
es un paisaje cultural declarado
Patrimonio Mundial por la UNESCO.
Constituye un ejemplo significativo

tras siglos de transformaciones por
parte del ser humano para adaptarse
al entorno, se ha convertido en
una monumental obra en la que se
mezclan cultura y tradiciones.
La enorme extensión de esta cadena
montañosa alberga 18 municipios
entre los que se encuentran
Valldemosa, Deià, Sóller y Pollença,
que destacan por su ubicación y
belleza. Además, existen multitud
de calas, caminos y miradores desde
donde se puede admirar la riqueza
material e inmaterial característica de
este área y que incluye acantilados,
pueblos de piedra, centenarios
sistemas de regadío, olivos, viñas y un
largo etcétera. Sin duda, un lugar que
merece la pena visitar.
Sierra de
Tramontana
Located on the north-western part
of Majorca, the Sierra de Tramontana
is a mountain area listed as UNESCO
World Heritage. It is a prime example
of Mediterranean rural landscape,
with long centuries of transformation
of the terrain by man to adapt to the
surroundings, resulting in picturesque
scenery that shows a mixture of
culture and traditions in the area.
This large mountainous area is home
to 18 municipalities, among which
are Valldemosa, Deià, Sóller and
Pollensa, which stand out for their
beautiful scenery. There are also lots
of coves, footpaths and lookout
points from which you can enjoy the
tangible and intangible wealth of this
area, including cliffs, villages made
of stone, centuries-old irrigation
systems, olive orchards, vineyards and
much more. This is a definite mustsee if you like scenic outings.

Palmeral de Elche
El elemento más característico de esta
bonita ciudad levantina es sin duda
su Palmeral, que con más de 200.000
ejemplares es el mayor de Europa y
uno de los más extensos del mundo.
Declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad
por la UNESCO, este increíble paisaje,
formado por huertos de palmeras
con complejos sistemas de riego, fue
implantado por los primeros musulmanes
que fundaron Elche en el siglo VIII d.C.
Las palmeras inundan el casco urbano,
donde es posible sumergirse en la
frondosidad y quietud de este maravilloso
patrimonio cultural. En la visita a la
ciudad es imprescindible adentrarse en la
Ruta del Palmeral, recorrido de 2,5kms
que discurre por alguno de los más
bonitos huertos de la ciudad, además
de subir a la Torre de la Basílica de Santa
María, desde donde se puede contemplar
la magnitud del palmeral e incluso
visualizar los espectaculares humedales
del Hondo de Crevillente y las Salinas de
Santa Pola, alcanzando la vista hasta el
horizonte del mar Mediterráneo.
Palmeral de Elche
One of the most spectacular sites in Elche
is its Palm Forest, with over 200,000
trees, ranking as the largest palm
plantation in Europe and one of the most
extensive in the world. Listed as UNESCO
World Heritage, this incredible landscape
comprises palm plantations and orchards
with a complete irrigation system first
designed by the Moorish dwellers who
founded Elche in the 8th century.
The palm trees extend around the whole
town of Elche, so it is well worth a visit
to enjoy this marvellous cultural heritage.
There is a well-defined Palm Tree Route
that takes you on a 2.5 km tour of
some of the most picturesque orchards
and gardens of the city. And along the
way you climb the tower of the Santa
Maria Basilica, from which you gain a
spectacular view of the palm forest, the
marshlands of Hondo de Crevillente and
the Salt Flats of Santa Pola, with the blue
Mediterranean in the background.

Cabo de Gata
Considered as the largest protected
area along the Mediterranean coast,
this cape is a place of great ecological,
historic and scenic wealth. It is one
of Spain’s nature preserves with the
greatest number of protected items,
both natural and cultural, and stands
out by being included in the UNESCO’s
world network of Biosphere Reserves.
Cabo de Gata offers countless activities
related to the sea and nature. Here,
visitors have the chance to go diving
in crystal-clear waters, enjoy boat
rides along the coast to see all the
picturesque coves, go swimming at
some of the best beaches along the
Med or simply go hiking or biking along
a network of signposted routes and
visit any of the 150 catalogued sites

GOLDEN VISA AND CHANGES TO PERSONAL INCOME TAX
REGULATIONS WITH REGARDS TO THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTIES
1.- ¿QUÉ ES LA GOLDEN VISA?
1. WHAT IS THE GOLDEN VISA?
Para reactivar el mercado inmobiliario se están utilizando diversas
técnicas, entre las que destacan las conocidas “GOLDEN VISA”.
Se trata de unos permisos de residencia que se conceden a los
extranjeros, que les autoriza a residir en España, sin desempeñar
actividad lucrativa por un periodo de 2 años siempre que realicen
una adquisición de inmuebles en España con una inversión de
valor igual o superior a medio millón de euros.

among which the well-known “GOLDEN VISA “ . It is about
residence permits granted to foreigners, authorizing them to
reside in Spain without performing gainful activity for a period of
two years provided they make an acquisition of property in Spain
with an investment of equal or greater value half a million euros.
Para solicitar una autorización de residencia para inversores,
se tiene que cumplir una serie de requisitos, entre ellos, se ha
de disponer de Visado de residencia para inversores en vigor o
hallarse dentro del plazo de 90 días naturales posteriores a la
caducidad de éste, además de haber viajado a España, al menos
una vez, durante el periodo autorizado.
Es importante recordar que se puede renovar ilimitadamente
por periodos de 2 años, y que transcurridos 5 años de residencia
legal y continuada en España, se abre la posibilidad de solicitar la
Autorización de Residencia Permanente.
Los interesantes precios, el estilo de vida y ahora el permiso de
residencia, son atractivos para muchos ciudadanos de economías
emergentes que deciden instalarse en España. De esta forma se
está reactivando el mercado inmobiliario en nuestro territorio.
2.- REFORMA FISCAL: IRPF Y VENTA DE INMUEBLES
La nueva reforma del IRPF afecta a aquellos propietarios de
vivienda que quieran vender su casa a partir del 1 de enero de
2015.
La medida supone que la plusvalía lograda por la venta de
una vivienda deberá tributar en el IRPF. El texto propuesto
inicialmente por Hacienda pretendía acabar con los dos
instrumentos que reducían la carga impositiva sobre las plusvalías
generadas por la revalorización de los inmuebles en el momento
de su venta: Los coeficientes de abatimiento y el coeficiente
corrector de la inflación.

2. FISCAL REFORM: PIT AND REAL ESTATE
If you intend to sell a house, it is necessary to note that as of
January 1, 2015, the tax reform will enter into force.
The gain achieved by the sale of a home must pay tax on the
income tax. The text has developed Hacienda do away at once

aniversario con un acto muy especial. Coincidiendo con la
inauguración de Sea Senses, preparamos un gran evento
al que invitamos a clientes, proveedores y autoridades
políticas. Los más de 200 asistentes pudieron disfrutar de
un desayuno, una visita a las instalaciones del residencial
y el piso piloto, además de un pequeño acto que incluyó la
entrega de llaves a los nuevos propietarios, cuatro familias
de Rusia, Noruega, Bélgica y España.

anniversary with a very special event. Coinciding with the
opening of Sea Senses, we prepared a fantastic programme
to which clients, suppliers and authorities were all invited.
Over 200 guests enjoyed a breakfast meeting, a visit to the
residential estate installations and the showhouse, and
one of the ceremonies included the delivery of keys to the
first new neighbours – four families from Russia, Norway,
Belgium and Spain.

The formal ceremony finished

La iniciativa tuvo muy buena acogida por parte de nuestros clientes y
seguidores ya que participaron más de 150 personas y casi 250 fotografías
fueron presentadas a concurso a través de Facebook y vía email. Puedes

La decisión del jurado estuvo muy reñida porque algunos de los
participantes enviaron fotos realmente espectaculares. Y no era para
menos porque… ¡había premios muy interesantes! El ganador de la
categoría entornos fue premiado con un fabuloso viaje a la Riviera Maya
mexicana para dos personas con alojamiento en régimen de “Todo
incluido” en nuestro hotel de 5 estrellas Azul Fives.
The initiative was well received by our clients and followers, as more than
150 people participated and nearly 250 photographs were submitted for

Arriving at a final decision was a difficult process for the adjudicators, as
many of the participants submitted some truly spectacular photos; which
was unsurprising considering the fantastic prizes to be won! The winner
of the ‘Environments’ category will be enjoying a fabulous all-inclusive trip
for two to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico, at our luxury 5-star hotel ‘Azul
Fives’.

Estamos inmersos en el invierno y los recuerdos de los
copos de nieve y el frío moscovita vienen a la mente
de la mayoría de residentes rusos en esta zona de la

Winter is coming and the memories of Moscow
snowflakes and icicles probably come to the minds of
most Russian residents along the Costa Blanca. Luckily,
they have everything they need in the neighbourhood
for feeling right at home in the sun.
You can find lots of stores with Russian products for sale,
like “Sadko” and “Globus” in Torrevieja, which offer
everything you need to prepare traditional Christmas
dishes. At “Globus” for example, you can even try out
Russian snacks and cakes any time of day, or order a
tea with “goryachiy pirozhok”, the typical Russian hot
patty cakes. And if you’re into reading, there’s a fantastic
library awaiting you with all the classics by Tolstoy, Gogol
and Pushkin.
But if it’s hard for you to imagine a winter without snow,
just a little over an hour away by car you can visit the
Nature Park of Sierra Mariola, where it usually snows in
winter. It has charming mountain towns and beautiful
scenery for a day’s outing.

Aún no me podía creer las palabras
de Ramón y Arancha, los amables
“vecinos” de la oficina posventa
de TM, que nos anunciaban un par
de días antes por teléfono que la
temperatura en Alicante rondaba
los 22 grados centígrados durante
el día. ¿Os lo podéis creer? ¡En
pleno diciembre!
Fue entonces, intentando
imaginarme cómo sería eso de
pasar unas navidades en la playa,
cuando reparé en un pequeño
detalle: nos habíamos dejado en
Estocolmo las llaves de nuestro
bungalow en Alicante. Y eso
que habíamos confeccionado y
chequeado cuidadosamente una
completa lista para la preparación
del viaje: ropa, calzado, medicinas,
billetes de avión. Todo menos las
llaves.
Durante unos segundos empecé
a pensar cómo podíamos
solucionar el problema. Nosotros
no podíamos regresar a por las
llaves sin perder el vuelo. No había
nadie en Estocolmo que pudiera
recoger de nuestra casa las llaves
y enviárnoslas a España…¡vaya
lío! Fue entonces cuando mi
mujer me recordó que no debía
preocuparme. Gracias a que le hice
caso a ella teníamos un contrato
de custodia de llaves (Key Holding)
con TM. Así que sólo teníamos que
avisar al servicio posventa y ellos
nos facilitarían la copia de la llave
que guardaban en depósito en su
oficina.
Tengo que confesar que nunca
me he alegrado tanto de darle la

razón a mi mujer. Respiré tranquilo
cuando el taxi nos dejó en la
entrada principal de Sol Marino.
Eran las 12:30 y Ramón ya estaba
esperándonos sonriente, con las
llaves de nuestra casa en la mano.
Tras saludarnos nos confirmó que
a nuestra casa había acudido el
servicio de limpieza unos días
antes, tal como le habíamos pedido
hacía un mes. Íbamos a quedarnos
una semana, a tener invitados y
queríamos aprovechar el tiempo al
máximo, sin preocuparnos por el
estado de la vivienda.
¡Tienen la vivienda limpia y
preparada para que puedan
montar un buen “julgran” (árbol
de Navidad)!-nos dijo Ramón
al despedirse amablemente,
advirtiéndonos que seguramente
pasaría el jardinero para realizar
el mantenimiento mensual que
también teníamos contratado con
TM.
Al cruzar el jardín me percaté del
buen estado del mismo. Parecía
tan cuidado como el primer día,
cuando nos entregaron la vivienda.
Abrimos entonces la puerta de
nuestro bungalow y dejamos las

olor a limpio inundaba toda la
estancia. Encendí las luces y todo
estaba en orden. Todo perfecto
para pasar unas navidades muy
especiales. Sólo teníamos que
preocuparnos de una cosa: de
disfrutarlas.
It was 7:15 in the morning. The
fog clung to the endless line of
trees on both sides of the road.
There was still some way to go, but
the signs now gave directions to
Stockholm Skavsta airport. In just
over an hour we would be flying
down to Alicante. Just in time for
a very special Christmas. The first
Christmas away from home. Far
from Sweden. Yes, we were going
to Spain.
I still couldn’t believe our friends
Ramón and Arancha, the next-door
neighbours at the TM Aftersales
Office, when they told us over the
phone that the temperature in
Alicante was 22º C during the day.
Can you believe it? At Christmas
time!
I sat there dreaming about how
I would spend a few days at
Christmas strolling along the
beach, enjoying the sunshine,
when suddenly, a thought flashed
into my head. We had left the
keys to our Alicante bungalow at
home. Drat! And I had checked
and rechecked everything, and had
a complete list of clothes, shoes,
medicine, tickets, even a sun hat!
I must have left the keys on the
kitchen table.
With rising anxiety, I wondered
how we could solve the problem
now. We couldn’t return home
without missing the flight. And
there was nobody near who could
get into our house and send us the
keys to Spain. What a mess! As I
started to get even more nervous,
my husband turned and said,
“Don’t worry, I’ve got it covered!”.
He reminded me that we had a
key holding service with TM – and
that I had even insisted on that.
So all we had to do was tell the
Aftersales Service people and they
would give us a copy of the key
they kept in their safe deposit box
at the office.
I have to admit, I’m glad I insisted
on that when my husband and I
made the deal. I was totally calm as
our taxi dropped us off at the main
entrance to Sol Marino. It was
12:30, and Ramón was waiting for
us, smiling, with the keys to our
house in his hand. After we had
thanked him and chatted a little in
our broken Spanish, he confirmed
that the housecleaning service had
come a few days before, just as we
had requested a month ago. We
were going to stay for a week, and
since we were having guests, of
course we wanted everything to be
perfect on our arrival.
“You have the house clean and
all ready for setting up a nice
“julgran” – the Christmas tree,
right?” joked Ramón as he was
leaving, and told us that the
gardener would probably come this
week for the monthly maintenance
we had contracted with TM as
well.
As we crossed the garden I noticed
everything looked fine. It looked
as good as the first day, when we
first got our keys. We opened the
door to our bungalow and left
the suitcases in the lounge for the
time being. I enjoyed the nice fresh
smell, a little too soon for orange
blossom, perhaps? I even turned
the lights on and everything looked
perfect. Perfect for a very special
Christmas holiday this year. We
only had to concentrate on one
thing – enjoying ourselves for a
whole week in the sun.

la oportunidad de celebrar la feria de
Abril, ¿qué mejor lugar que Andalucía
para celebrar una fiesta flamenca? Con
la actuación de un cuadro flamenco,
sus bailaoras y cosas ricas para comer
los asistentes lo pasaron en grande y
prolongaron la fiesta hasta la noche en
el chiringuito a pie de playa.

At Mar de Pulpí Pueblo Mediterráneo,
no one wanted to miss the chance
to celebrate the traditional April Fair
of Seville, so what better place could
there be for a festive occasion than this
fantastic residential estate? Flamenco
dancers gave a performance with
beautiful “bailaoras” and lots of great
things to eat, so everyone had a great
time until the wee hours of the morning
at the Chiringuito right on the beach.

Un año más nuestros clientes de los
Residenciales Carole y Amelie VPO tomaron
la iniciativa para celebrar la fiesta de
bienvenida al verano. Con la inestimable

casi 20 tapas participantes eran dignas de

Once again this year our clients at Carole
and Amelie VPO residential projects took the
initiative and threw a summer welcoming
party for all. With the help of our colleagues
at the TM Murcia office, we organised a
tapas contest that gave everyone a chance
to enjoy a good tasting session. Almost
100 people came and the 20 participating
tapas were worthy of a Master Chef TV
programme!

On the Costa Blanca we also celebrated the
arrival of summer with an exclusive event for
TM clients only. The party was held on a pretty
terrace in the port of Torrevieja, where TM
customers were able to enjoy a spectacular
evening accompanied by live music, a savoury
sampling of tapas and some delicious cocktails.

Verano, playa, vacaciones, brisa del mar: ¡fiesta
Club TM! En este encuentro queríamos hacer
un homenaje a la década de los años 70 y los
asistentes acudieron vestidos de la época con
trajes que recordaban el movimiento hippie o la
fiebre disco. A su llegada, los invitados posaron
cual estrellas de cine en el photocall, sin olvidar
introducir su participación para los sorteos
que tuvieron lugar al final de la noche y que
repartieron premios a tres afortunadas familias.

Summer, beach-life, holidays, and the sea breeze...
That was the TM Club party! For this event we
wanted to pay homage to the 70s, so everyone
came dressed up for a hippie night out, all ready
for lots of disco fever. Upon arrival, attendees
posed for photos at the entrance, without
forgetting to deposit their tickets for the raffles
that were to take place at the end of the evening,
with prizes that finally went to three fortunate
families.

¿Qué tipo de cliente tiene Casa
Alfonso?
Tengo unos clientes muy
buenos desde hace muchísimo
tiempo, y mi clientela ahora es
prácticamente el 90 ó 95% de
extranjeros, nórdicos, belgas…
Tengo gente muy importante,
importante como clientes e
importante como amigos.
Además hace unos años
inauguramos la terraza
Entrecolycol, que es un gastrobar,
aplicando ese concepto aquí y
funcionó muy bien. Ofrecemos un
tipo de comida más desenfadada,
es más de tapas, el ambiente es
muy bueno, y la afluencia es más
nacional, aunque también los
extranjeros la están descubriendo.
Alfonso es cocinero y propietario del Restaurante Casa Alfonso,
reconocido con una Estrella Michelín y situado en la zona de
Campoamor – Orihuela Costa en Alicante. Además posee un
gastrobar en la ciudad de Murcia llamado Entrecolycol hasta
donde nos desplazamos para hacerle una pequeña entrevista:
Alfonso is the chef and proprietor of Restaurante Casa
Alfonso, which holds a Michelin Star and is located in the
area of Campoamor - Orihuela Costa in Alicante. In addition,
Alfonso has a gastrobar in the city of Murcia called Entrecolycol
[meaning something like “in between the cabbages”], where we
interviewed him for this issue.
¿Cuándo comienza a trabajar
en cocina?
Empecé en el año ’69 en
Torrevieja. Comienzo en la
hostelería porque tenía que
trabajar para pagarme los
estudios de bachiller. Más tarde
seguí trabajando para pagarme
la universidad donde comencé
medicina, la cual abandoné,
también me matriculé en
psicología pero pronto me di
cuenta que lo que había sido
un medio para poder pagar mis
estudios es al final es lo principal
en mi vida.
Cuéntenos más acerca de su
restaurante Casa Alfonso
Soy autodidacta, nunca he estado
de cocinero en otras cocinas, y
llega un momento en que me
planteo dar un pequeño salto,
tenía por entonces un restaurante
en Mil Palmeras y me paso a
Campoamor. Entonces decido
que profesionalmente me gustaría
subir un escaloncito. Y por ello en
el año 2000 abrimos Casa Alfonso,
fue un reto, un gran proyecto, y
en el 2005 obtenemos la estrella
Michelín.
Para mi el restaurante es mi casa
y quiero que quien venga aquí
lo pase lo mejor posible y sienta
que esta es su casa. Por ello en
mi casa hay parte de mi vida, soy
coleccionista de arte y las obras
forman parte de la decoración de
mi restaurante.
¿Cómo definiría su tipo de
cocina?
El tipo de cocina que hago es una
manera de vivir, una manera de
sentir, una manera de enfocar las
cosas. Es una cocina sencilla. El
otro día me decían que si era una
cocina de la memoria. Pues sí, me
muevo en el entorno donde me
he criado, producto de la zona,
soy de terruño a mí me marca
mucho el Mediterráneo, el Mar
Menor, la zona de Levante, soy
un sentimental y un romántico de
todo esto porque no se puede ser
de otra manera.
¿Cuál cree que es la clave de su
éxito?
Dar calidad, ser humilde y
honrado. Para mí es la esencia.
Todo lo demás no sirve para nada. ¿Cómo definiría la esencia
mediterránea?
La esencia mediterránea para mi es
todo, desde el sol hasta el clima,
la luz , la temperatura y la materia
prima más humilde. Desde la
forma de ser de las personas hasta
el producto más insignificante
como puede ser una sardina.
Levantarte y ver el que creo que es
el cielo más bonito del mundo.
When did you start cooking?
I started in 1969 in Torrevieja. I
took a job as a waiter because I
had to work to pay for my high
school studies. Later, I continued
working to pay for my university
studies, where I signed up for
medicine, but then dropped out.
I also enrolled in psychology, but I
soon realised that what at first was
just a means to an end actually
became the focal point in my life
– cooking.
Tell us something about your
restaurant, Casa Alfonso.
I’m self-taught. I’ve never cooked
for anyone else. I thought I was
ready to make a move forward, as
I had a restaurant in Mil Palmeras,
and then I decided to set up in
Campoamor.
I wanted to progress professionally
and move up a step or two. That’s
why I opened Casa Alfonso in
2000. It was a challenge, a big
project, but it turned out to be a
success and we won a Michelin
star in 2005.
For me, this restaurant is my
home, and I like having people
come to my house and enjoying
themselves and feeling like they’re
at home too. That’s why this
place has part of my life in it. I like
collecting works of art and these
are part of the decoration in my
restaurant.
How would you define your
cuisine?
The kind of cuisine I do is a way
of life, a way of feeling, a way
of focusing on things. It’s simple,
really. The other day someone said
that I was probably a “chef from
memory”. That’s maybe it. I use
the things that I was brought up
to use, products from the region.
I’m land-based. I’m influenced a
lot by the Mediterranean, the Mar
Menor, the Levante area.... I’m
sentimental, romantic, because
you can’t be anything else if you
live here.
What kind of customer comes
to Casa Alfonso?
I have very good customers and
I’ve had them for a long time.
My clientèle is now practically 90
or 95% from abroad – Nordic,
Belgian... I have very important
people – important as clients and
important as friends.
In addition, a few years ago I
opened the Entrecolycol terrace
– a gastrobar – and I applied the
same concept there, and it’s going
well. We offer a casual type of
food – more than tapas – and the
atmosphere is great. People are
mostly nationals, although some
foreigners are now discovering it.
What do you think is the key to
your success?
Providing quality, being humble
and honest. That’s the essential
thing. Nothing else really works. How would you define the
Mediterranean essence?
The Mediterranean essence for me
is everything, from the sun to the
climate, the light, the temperature
and even the humblest of raw
materials. From the lifestyle of
people to the most insignificant
products, like maybe a sardine.
Waking up and seeing what I
believe is the most beautiful sky in
the world.

y sala de conferencias, y
también pistas de vóley y
petanca, ubicadas en la Playa
de los Nardos, frente al propio
residencial y centro comercial.
¿Quieres más ventajas?
En el pasado mes de octubre,
TM Grupo Inmobiliario firmó
un convenio de colaboración
anual con el Ayuntamiento
de Pulpí, por el que el Mar de
Pulpí Health Sport & Leisure
Centre podrá hacer uso
también de la piscina cubierta
municipal, completando así
un elenco de instalaciones
multidisciplinares de lo más
variado.
Pero sin duda, el mayor atractivo de este centro deportivo es
su ubicación. Y es que hacer yoga en la misma arena de la
playa, dar un paseo en bici por la costa o recorrer en kayak
las calas e islas del levante almeriense es un privilegio que
muchos no se quieren perder. Así, los usuarios del centro
pueden encontrar una gran oferta de actividades deportivas
que van desde las actividades de multiaventura en playa y
montaña como snorkel o hiking, hasta actividades de fitness
como stretching, pilates o gap. Y para el que lo prefiera,
también existe la posibilidad de ir por libre, alquilando
material de paddle surf, kayaks o mountain bikes a un precio
muy razonable.
Pensado para adultos y niños
Los más pequeños de la casa también tienen su hueco en
Mar de Pulpí Health Sport & Leisure Centre, para los que se
organiza una escuela de verano que dio el pistoletazo de
salida el año pasado con una exitosa primera edición, en la
que se realizaron todo tipo de actividades deportivas, juegos
y manualidades. Es una excelente iniciativa para que los niños
lo pasen en grande mientras sus padres practican deporte o
se relajan en la playa y disfrutan de su tiempo libre.

Diego y Dori, dos excelentes monitores con una larga
experiencia como entrenadores personales y técnicos
deportivos en actividades terrestres y acuáticas.
Jack Waitz, el entrenador de reconocido prestigio de la
ya fallecida leyenda del deporte: Grete Waitz, nueve veces
campeona de la Maratón de Nueva York, campeona mundial
de maratón en 1983 y medalla de plata en los Juegos
Olímpicos de Los Ángeles 1984.
Organizando múltiples eventos y acuerdos
deportivos
Desde su apertura, el Mar de Pulpí Health Sport & Leisure
Centre ha organizado y llevado a cabo multitud de eventos,
salidas y campeonatos. La mejor muestra de ello ha sido la
celebración, el pasado 6 y 7 de septiembre, del XX Triatlón de
Pulpí y el IV Acuatlón de Pulpí del Campeonato de Andalucía,
coorganizado y patrocinado por TM Grupo Inmobiliario, en
el que participaron más de 600 atletas, y cuyo desarrollo ha
transcurrido en gran medida en las instalaciones del centro.

En la actualidad se están llevando a cabo acuerdos de
colaboración con la gran empresa noruega de entrenamiento
y salud de deportistas de élite Magnat, lo que sin duda hará
de este centro deportivo un referente a nivel internacional en

Jack Waitz, the acknowledged trainer
and husband of the deceased sports
legend, Grete Waitz, nine times
champion of the New York Marathon,
world marathon champion in 1983
and silver medallist at the Los Angeles
Olympic Games in 1984.
All kinds of sports activities
The centre has a wide variety of
installations for practising both indoor
and open-air sports. In addition
to the tennis and paddle courts, a
multipurpose sports ground and
swimming pools that were already at
Mar de Pulpí Pueblo Mediterráneo,
this year we have inaugurated various
running circuits around the spectacular
70,000 m2 beachfront park area
adjacent to the residential complex,
with a gym with a fitness room and equipment room, a
meeting room, and volleyball and bowls courts, located
at Playa de los Nardos, in front of the complex and the
shopping area.
And now, to make it even more interesting, in the
month of October TM Grupo Inmobiliario singed an annual
collaboration agreement with the Town Council of Pulpí,
under which Mar de Pulpí Health Sport & Leisure Centre
also makes use of the indoor municipal swimming pool,
completing its line-up of multidisciplinary facilities for staying
in shape.
But without a doubt the biggest attraction of this sports
centre is its location. Enjoying a quiet yoga session on the
sandy beach itself, a bike ride along the coast, or kayaking
around the coves and islands along the Almería coastline is
an incredible privilege that no one will want to miss. Users of
the centre have a long list of sports activities to choose from,
including multi-adventure beach activities and snorkelling, or
hiking excursions in the mountains, all the way through to
stretching, pilates and gap. And for those who want more
outdoor activities, there is a rental service for paddle surf,
kayaks and mountain bikes at very reasonable prices.
Conceived for adults and children too
Even the kids will love Mar de Pulpí Health Sport & Leisure
Centre, because we organise a summer school that started
up this past summer and reaped lots of success, with children

Since it opened, Mar de Pulpí Health
Sport & Leisure Centre has organised
and directed lots of events, excursions
and championships. Some examples are the staging of
the 20th Pulpí Triathlon and the 4th Pulpí Aquathlon
corresponding to the Championships of Andalucía on 6-7
September, co-organised and sponsored by TM Grupo
Inmobiliario, in which over 600 athletes took part, and which
mostly took place at the Centre’s facilities. (See “Be Active”
section).
At present, collaboration agreements are being drawn up
with the leading Norwegian training and sports health firm,
Magnat, which will further increase the importance of this
sports centre on the international level as regards sports
holidays, tourism, leisure and health.

Jack Waitz
Entrevista - Interview
Jack Henry Waitz nació en
Oslo el 4 de febrero de 1948,
y es uno de los mejores
entrenadores de atletismo
del mundo, especialmente
de maratón.
Waitz nació y se crió en Oslo. Ingresó
en la escuela de atletismo con 7 años de
edad, donde conoció a Grete Andersen,
con quien contraería matrimonio en 1975.
Aunque fue un buen corredor (se encuentra entre
los 400 mejores de Noruega), su labor más reconocida es
la de entrenador de su esposa, Grete Waitz, quien pasó a
la historia por ser una de las mejores corredoras de larga
distancia de todos los tiempos. Entre los innumerables
triunfos de Grete destacan nueve ediciones de la Maratón
de Nueva York entre 1978 y 1988, el título de campeona
mundial de maratón en 1983 y la medalla de plata en los
Juegos Olímpicos de Los Angeles 1984. A esto se añaden
siete récords mundiales, cuatro de ellos en la maratón.
Desafortunadamente, Grete falleció en el año 2011 a la
edad de 57 años, después de una larga batalla contra
el cáncer, no sin antes hacer una importante labor
solidaria junto a su marido, Jack Waitz: en 2007 fundó
la asociación ‘Active Against Cancer’, con el propósito
de promover la actividad física como una forma de
prevención y ayuda en la recuperación
del cáncer u otras enfermedades.
Grete ha sido todo un referente en
la historia del deporte, marcando un
antes y un después en el mundo del
atletismo femenino. ¿Qué valores
resaltaría de ella?
Grete era muy organizada, y sabía
conciliar muy bien la vida privada y su
carrera profesional. Era muy entregada
y disciplinada y tenía una gran fuerza de
voluntad.
Jack, se cuenta que Grete acudió
a su primera maratón de NY sin
pretensión alguna de ganar, ya que
era la primera vez que afrontaba
los 42 km, mientras que la distancia
más larga que había corrido eran
18 km. Se tomó aquel viaje a la

Born on 4th February 1948, Jack
Henry Waitz is known as one
of the best athletics trainers
in the world, and especially
in marathon events.
Waitz was born and raised in Oslo,
entering athletics school at 7 years of
age, where he met Grete Andersen, who
he would marry in 1975. Although he was
a good runner (his personal best appears in
Norway’s top 400), his most lauded work came
as trainer to his wife, Grete Waitz, who entered the
history books as one of the best female long distance
runners of all-time. Among Grete’s many triumphs, the
nine New York Marathon titles won between 1978 and
1988, the world title gained in 1983, and the Olympic
silver medal won in Los Angeles in 1984 all stand out in
a glittering career which also includes no less than seven
world records, four of these at marathon distance.
Grete sadly passed away at the age of 57, after a
long battle with cancer which was ultimately lost in
2011, although not before she and Jack made another
outstanding contribution to society: in 2007, they
founded the charity ‘Active Against Cancer’, with the
aim of promoting physical exercise as a method of aiding
prevention and recovery from cancer and other illnesses.
Grete is a real legend in the history

Which principles of hers would you
highlight?
Grete was very organized, balancing
both the private life and being an
athlete. Very dedicated, disciplined and
with a strong will.
Jack, it is said that Grete entered
into her first New York Marathon
with no pretentions of actually
winning, given that she had never
competed at the 42km distance
before, and the longest distance
she had ran was just 18km. The
Grete Andersen Waitz story goes that that historic trip to
the Big Apple represented more of
a holiday, at the time, than a sporting challenge,
and that Grete hadn’t even studied the marathon’s
route. At the end of the race, she was exhausted
and furious with you for all the pain she had
endured. What do you remember from that day?

was just the “ticket” to see New York before she retired.
I was very happy when she won in a record time, but at
that time I did not think that this race would change our
life and that she would continue 12 more years

do you think the mind is in obtaining sporting
achievements?
When it comes to the last part of the marathon it will
often be the mind that will decide the success. You need
to believe in all the work you have done to prepare your
body for this. It is painful either you run a 2 or a 4 hour

Yo tengo un papel en el
desarrollo de un centro de entrenamiento de primer nivel,
el cual puede ser usado tanto por atletas de elite como
aficionados del fitness y bienestar. Estoy aprovechando de
toda mi experiencia para conseguirlo. Me di cuenta que
la ubicación es muy adecuado para un centro deportivo.
Espero poder atraer atletas y turistas a Mar de Pulpí.
I have a role in developing a first class training center that
can be utilized by the top athletes as well as the fitness
minded people. I am using my experience to obtain this. I
realized that the location is very well suited for a training
center. I hope to help to bring in athletes and tourists to
Mar de Pulpi.

XX Triatlón de Pulpí
XX Pulpí Triathlon
El triatlón es una modalidad deportiva
que cuenta cada día con más adeptos.
Convertido en deporte olímpico
desde Sidney 2000, es una modalidad
deportiva de resistencia muy exigente
en la que se compite de manera
individual y que reúne tres disciplinas
deportivas: natación, ciclismo y
carrera a pie.
Dentro de esta modalidad deportiva
hay multitud de combinaciones
que pueden añadir o quitar alguna
disciplina, y con distintas duraciones
(sprint, corta distancia, larga
distancia). Así podemos encontrar
modalidades como el duatlón (carrera
a pie – ciclismo – carrera a pie), el
triatlón de invierno (carrera – ciclismo
– esquí de fondo), el cuadriatlón
(natación – piragua – ciclismo –
carrera a pie) o el acuatlón (carrera
– natación – carrera). En cuanto a las
duraciones también existe distintas
modalidades, siendo la más exigente
el Ironman, que consta de 3,86 km de
natación, 180 km de ciclismo y 42,2
km de carrera a pie (maratón).
A pesar de ser una modalidad
relativamente reciente, desde hace 20
años se lleva realizando esta prueba
en la localidad de Pulpí, donde este
año TM Grupo Inmobiliario a través
del Mar de Pulpí Holiday Sports
Centre ha tenido placer de poder
colaborar en la organización del XX
Triatlón de Pulpí, modalidad sprint
(750mts natación – 20kms. ciclismo
– 5kms. carrera a pie). La prueba
se celebró en las inmediaciones del
Residencial Mar de Pulpí y sus gran
parque litoral fue el eje central desde
el que comenzaban las tres disciplinas.
The triathlon is a sports competition
that is gaining ground with every new
year. Converted into an Olympic sport
for the Sydney games in 2000, this
individual endurance test is a gruelling
combination of swimming, biking and
running in succession.
Within similar competitions there
are multiple combinations that use
different durations or variations, such
as sprints, short distance or long
distance. For example there is the
duathlon (running - biking - running),
the winter thriathlon (running cycling - cross-country skiing), the
quadrathlon (swimming - canoeing
- cycling - running) and the aquathlon
(running - swimming - running). As
for durations, there are also different
varieties, with the longest now called
the Ironman Triathlon, with a 3.86km
swim, a 180km cycling course and a
full marathon 42.2km run.
Despite the fact that this is a fairly
recent addition to the Olympics, for
20 years this competition has been
held in the town of Pulpí, where TM
Grupo Inmobiliario makes use of Mar
de Pulpí Holiday Sports Centre and
collaborates with the organisation
of the annual Pulpí Triathlons, with a
sprint distance version (750m swim –
20km bike - 5km run). This contest is
held in the vicinity of the Mar de Pulpí
Residential Complex and the extensive
beachfront park area is used for the
starting line for all three disciplines.

Cycling Tour
TM Grupo Inmobiliario sponsored the “12th Cycling
Ring-Route of South Alicante”, organised by the cycling
club CC Oriolano and registered on the calendar of of
the Valencian Territorial Cycling Federation.
Vuelta Ciclista
TM Grupo Inmobiliario patrocinó el “XII Cinturón
Ciclista al Sur de Alicante”, prueba organizada por el
CC Oriolano e inscrita en el calendario de la Federación
Territorial Valenciana de Ciclismo.
La vuelta recorrió 265 kilómetros y en ella participaron
150 ciclistas. La primera etapa con salida y llegada en
Orihuela Costa recorrió varias localidades próximas a la
costa, y tuvo como punto inicial el Residencial Silene.
Las restantes etapas recorrieron multitud de poblaciones
del interior de la comarca, con salida y llegada en la
histórica ciudad de Orihuela.
This tour consists of a route of 265km and admits some
150 cyclists. The first stage, with departure and arrival
at Orihuela Costa, runs around various coastal towns,
and started outside Residencial Silene. The other stages
include various towns in the interior of the district, with
starts and finishes in the historic town of Orihuela.
Football Team Sponsorships
The town of Orihuela is the birthplace of the founder
of TM Grupo Inmobiliario, so it is only natural that the
company supports the two football teams based here.
One of these is Atlético Orihuela CF, which currently
plays in group 8 of the first regional category of juniors
of the Valencia Region.

Polina Berezina
La joven gimnasta torrevejense, de origen ruso, participa
en primera categoría de gimnasia rítmica y cuenta en su
haber con un título de campeona de España en categoría
Junior, otro de campeona de España por autonomías con
la Comunidad Valenciana y un título de subcampeona de
España individual en primera categoría.
Polina participa en los cuatro ejercicios de esta modalidad
deportiva (aro, pelota, mazas y cinta) y tiene por delante
un futuro brillante.

This young gymnast from Torrevieja, of Russian origin,
is now taking part in the the First Category of
rhythmic gymnastics, having already won a Spanish
championship in the junior category, another
Spanish title for the Valencia Region and being
ranked as the runner-up in the individual firstcategory Spanish championship.
Polina participates in the four exercises in this
sports event – hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon –
and looks like she has a brilliant future ahead
of her.

Aleksandr nació en un pequeño pueblo de la antigua URSS
en la frontera con Mongolia y China. En su faceta como actor
ha aparecido en más de 42 películas desde 1973, además ha
dirigido un filme y es habitual en la escena teatral en Rusia.
Durante su larga trayectoria ha recibido multitud de
reconocimientos tanto dentro como fuera de su país, el más
importante de ellos el otorgado en la 32ª edición de la Berlinale
(Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín). Uno de los papeles
más importantes de su carrera fue su protagonismo en la
película Lyubov i golubi (El amor y las palomas), considerada
una obra maestra del cine soviético y una de las mejores
películas de todos los tiempos.
Aleksandr was born in a tiny town of the former USSR on the
border of Mongolia and China. During his career as an actor
he has appeared in over 42 films since 1973. In addition he has
directed a film and makes frequent appearances on the Russian
stage.
Over his many years of acting he has received awards both at
home and abroad, with the most important of these being an
Honourable Mention from the 32nd Berlin Film Festival for his
starring role in the 1981 film Muzhiki! Another leading role
in his career was in the film Lyubov i golubi (Love and Doves),
considered as a master-work of Soviet film-making based on a
play of the same name.

Who’s there?
Al-basit (la llanura) fue la denominación con que los árabes bautizaron
a esta población, aludiendo a las características geográficas de la zona
donde está situada. Hoy Albacete es mucho más que una ciudad en una
llanura, pues se ha consolidado como una interesante oferta de turismo
gastronómico y de servicios para los negocios, gracias -entre otras cosasa sus excelentes conexiones con Madrid y Alicante en AVE.
TM abrió sus puertas en esta localidad manchega en el año 1993, y ha
pasado por diferentes ubicaciones hasta dar con la actual, en la céntrica
calle Caba, 16. Aquí os esperan con los brazos abiertos Juan Carlos Alfaro
y Nani Alcaraz, dos de los miembros TM con más veteranía en el área
comercial y cuya dedicación y atención a nuestros clientes ha quedado
sobradamente demostrada.
Son muchos los clientes TM de Albacete y de otras localidades que

Eastern European markets, which are among the most important for TM. Olena
is originally from the Ukraine (although her Spanish is so perfect it could fool
