The Mission of George Washington School is to maintain high expectations
for all students by being:

La Misión de la Escuela George Washington es de mantener altas expectativas
de todos los estudiantes al mantenerse:

CCSS Literacy-Teachers will attend PD based on CCSS best practices
and implement strategies in their classrooms. They will meet on a weekly
basis to review strategies and student data.
CCSS Mathematics-Teachers will incorporate MARS Tasks/Math
Talks and will use Math binders to guide instructional practices within
the classroom. They will discuss these practices as well as student data
weekly.
Science, S.S.,UA/PE-Teachers will form a committee and determine
what training and support is needed to support Science and Social
Studies instruction.
School Culture & Climate (SEL)-Teachers will take a survey to
assess school culture and climate. SLT will disseminate data and make
objectives and goals to improve on areas in need.
Instructional Leadership Team-GW will create a ILT to constantly
monitor and address current instructional practices as well as student
data and make objectives to address key areas that need attention.
Academic Planning for College and Career Readiness-GW will
implement activities on a school-wide and classroom-level basis to
address college and career readiness for students.

CCSS Literatura-Las maestras van a recibir dias de taller para recibir estrategias
basadas en los estandares de CCSS sobre las mejores practicas en clase. Tendrán juntas
cada semana para repasar las estrategias y los datos de progreso.
CCSS Mathemáticas-Las maestras van incluir examenes y platicas sobre como
llegar a resolver un problema de matemáticas. También van a utlizar recursos de
matemáticas para guiar su instrucción de matemáticas. Cada semana van a conversar
sobre las estrategias y el progeso del los estudiantes.
Ciencia, Estudios Sociales, Gimnasia, Arte-Las maestras van a reunirse para
buscar como apoyar a las maestras con la instrucción de Ciencia y Estudio Sociales.
Cultura de la Escuela y el Clima (SEL)-Las maestras van a tomar una encuesta
para determinar el clima de la escuela. El comité de maestras van a determinar los
resultados y proveer las maestras con recursos y metas para lograr.
Equipo de Liderazgo- En la Escuela George Washington el equipo de Liderazgo
tomarán una encuesta de como mejorar las estrategias de instrucción y repasar los
datos del progreso de los estudiantes y determinar las areas de mejoramiento.
Planificar para la preparación de Colegio y Carreras-En la Escuela George
Washington vamos a proveer actividades en la escuela y en las clases para preparar los
alumnos para el colegio y las carreras que serán para el futuro de los alumnos.

Contributing Factors to Success at School
Suggestions for Parents regarding NWEA ™:
 Contact your child’s teacher to discuss the progress of your child. Request
activities from your child’s teacher that will help prepare your child in
preparation of tests and so your child will have a better understanding of the
class work. Parents and teachers working together benefit students... ƒ
 Prepare a quiet area at home so your child can study. Be certain that your child
gets a goodnight sleep so your child will be ready to learn at school. Give your
child a balanced diet. All of these actions prepare your children to have a
healthy and active mind.
 Encourage your child to solve problems. Provide assistance but allow your child
to discover the soluntion on their own. The ablility to solve problems is a life
skill. Your child can learn this life skill through play, cooking with you, or
working on a project.

 Reúnase con el maestro de su hijo para hablar sobre su progreso. Pida al
maestro que le sugiera actividades para que usted y su niño hagan en casa
para ayudar a prepararse para los exámenes y para que su hijo/a comprenda
mejor su trabajo escolar. Padres y maestros trabajando juntos beneficia a los
estudiantes.. ƒ
 Proporcione un lugar tranquilo, confortable para estudiar en casa; asegúrese
de que su hijo esté bien descansado los días de escuela; y déle a su hijo una
dieta bien balanceada. Todas estas acciones llevan a fomentar una mente
saludable y activa.
 Anime a los niños a resolver problemas. Proporcione asistencia, pero deje que
averigüen ellos mismos. La solución de problemas es una habilidad de por
vida. Se puede aprender en juegos, cocinando juntos, o trabajando en un
proyecto.
