Once four priests were spending a couple of days at a cabin. In the evening they decided to tell each other their biggest
temptation. The first priest said, "Well, it's kind of embarrassing, but my big temptation is bad pictures. Once I even
bought a copy of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition." "My temptation is worse," said the second priest. "It's gambling. One Saturday instead of preparing my homily I went to the race track to bet on the ponies." "Mine is worse still,"
said the third priest. "I sometimes can't control the urge to drink. One time I actually broke into the sacramental wine."
The fourth priest was quiet. "Brothers, I hate to say this," he said, "but my temptation is worst of all. I love to gossip and if you guys will excuse me, I'd like to make a few phone calls!"... We all have temptations. But, why does God allow the devil to tempt us? It may surprise you that God uses the devil. He is not an independent power, equal to God. At
any moment God could banish Satan, but he does not do so. Temptations have a purpose in God's plan.... We are weak,
but each time we stand with Jesus, each time we resist temptation, we gain power. That power ultimately does not belong to us, but to God. The power is real, but when we think it is our own, we set ourselves up for a big fall.

Ewangelia opowiadająca o kuszeniu Jezusa na pustyni, którą czytamy każdego roku w pierwszą Niedzielę Wielkiego
Postu, przypomina nam przede wszystkim o tym, jak wiele zależy od samego człowieka. Zwłaszcza ostatnia odpowiedź
Chrystusa, „Panu, Bogu swemu, będziesz oddawał pokłon i Jemu samemu służyć będziesz", wskazuje, gdzie znajduje
się punkt odniesienia dla całego naszego życia. Jeśli pośród bardzo wielu ważnych i absorbujących zajęć potrafimy
przypominać sobie Komu mamy oddawać pokłon i Komu służyć, z pewnością na wszystko znajdzie się czas.....
Potrzeba jednak tej postawy, którą ukazuje nam Chrystus w Ewangelii. Na wszelkie podszepty Złego trzeba
odpowiadać słowem, które kieruje myśli i serce ku Bogu. Na mniejsze i większe egoizmy, chęć posiadania, pokusę
władzy, odpowiedzią niech będzie wiara, że sam Bóg da nam wszystko, co niezbędne.

mia es aun peor," dijo el tercer sacerdote. "Es el trago - hasta una vez use el vino sacramental." ... El cuarto sacerdote
estaba callado. "Hermanos, no me gusta decirlo," les dijo, "pero mi tentacion es la peor de todas. Es el chisme - y si sus
ustedes me perdonan unos minutos me gustaria hacer unas llamadas telefonicas.".... Por que Dios permite que el diablo
nos tenta? Se puede sorprender que Dios usa el diablo. No es poder independente, igual a Dios. En cualquier momento
Dios puede desterrar a Satanas, pero no lo hace. Las tentaciones tienen un proposito en el plan de Dios…. Solo un hombre resistio la tentacion totalmente. Tu y yo somos como plantas que doblan en el viento. Pero Jesus es como un roble no se doblo ante la tentacion. Las tentaciones sucedieron al comienzo del ministerio publico para que - en su humanidad
- Jesus podia sacar poder de las tentaciones….. Somos debiles, pero cada vez nos unimos a Jesus, cada vez que resistimos la tentacion, ganamos poder. El poder al final de las cuentas no pertenece a nosotros sino a Dios. El poder es real,
pero al pensar que la nuestra, estamos al borde de una caida grande.

CLOUD AND LIGHT
These two images occur together in the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament, the cloud,
now obscure, now luminous, reveals the living and saving God, while veiling the transcendence of his glory with Moses on Mount Sinai, at the tent of meeting, and during the wandering in the desert, and with Salomon
at the dedication of the temple. In the Holy Spirit, Christ fulfills these figures. The Spirit comes upon the Virgin Mary and overshadows her, so that she might conceive and give birth to Jesus. On the mountain of Transfiguration, the Spirit in the cloud came and overshadowed Jesus, Moses and Elijah, Peter, James and John, and
a voice came out of the cloud saying;"This is my Son, my Chosen, listen to him". Finally, the cloud took Jesus
out of the sight of the disciples on the day of his ascension and will reveal him as Son of man in glory on the
day of his final coming.

OBŁOK I ŚWIATŁO
Te dwa symbole są nierozłączne w objawieniach Ducha Świętego. Począwszy od teofani Starego Testamentu,
obłok - raz ciemny, a raz świetlisty - objawia Boga żywego i zbawiającego, osłaniając transcendencję Jego
chwały. Pojawia się, gdy Mojżesz wstępuje na górę Synaj, nad Namiotem Spotkania, podczas wędrówki przez
pustynię i poświęcenie Świątyni Salomona. Figury te następnie zostają wypełnione przez Chrystusa w Duchu
Świętym. Duch Święty zstępuje na Maryję Dziewicę i osłania Ją swoim cieniem, by poczęła i urodziła Jezusa.
To On zjawia się na górze Przemienienia. Zjawił się obłok i osłonił ich - Jezusa, Mojrzesza, Eliasza, Piotra,
Jakuba i Jana, a z obłoku odezwał się głos; "To jest Syn mój umiłowany, Jego słuchajcie". Lk 9.34 W końcu
ten sam obłok zabrał Jezusa sprzed oczu uczniów w dniu Wniebowstąpienia i objawił Syna Człowieczego w
chwale w dniu Jego Przyjścia.

durante la marcha por el desierto, con Salomon en la dedicacion del Templo. Pues bien, estas figuras son cumplidas por Cristo en el Espiritu Santo. El es quien desciende sobre la Virgen Maria y la cubre con su sombra
para que ella conciba y de a luz a Jesus. En la montańa de la Transfiguracion es El quien vino en una nube y
cubrio con su nombre a Jesus, a Moises y a Elias, a Pedro, Santiago y Juan, y se oyo una voz desde la nube

SCHOOL NEWS….
Danny Arreola, Jacob Yeskis and Jennifer Martinez, members of the St.
Bruno Science Club, recently built and experimented with balloon rockets. St. Bruno Science Club meets each month and students
have the opportunity to compete against other members in science related events. Many of the events challenge members to create a
device that will accomplish a specific task, such
as to protect an egg from breaking in the Egg
Drop or building Balloon Rockets. Science Club
members also have the opportunity to participate
in environmental projects in school and the community. The Science Club is for students in 5th,
6th, 7th, and 8th grade and is moderated by Mrs.
Kielbasa, the junior high science teacher.

balonową. Klub Naukowy Świętego Brunona miał
okazję, aby współzawodniczyć z innymi

tematyce. Wiele z tych wydarzeń było
wyzwaniem dla innych członków, aby uczynić
podobne, specyficzne zadania.
Członkowie Klubu Naukowego mieli też okazję
uczestniczyć w tych szczególnych projektach
szkolnych. Klub Naukowy składa się z klas 5,6,7,
i 8. Moderatorką jest Pani Kielbasa, która jest nauczycielką w Szkole Wyższej.

competir contra otros miembros en eventos relacionados con la Ciencia. Muchos de los eventos recusan a los miembros para crear
un dispositivo que realizan una tarea específica, como proteger un huevo que no se rompa en una caída o los cohetes de la construcción de globo. Miembros del club también tienen la oportunidad de participar en proyectos ambientales en la escuela y la comunidad. El club de Ciencias es para los estudiantes de 5to, 6to, 7mo y 8vo grado y es moderado por la Sra. Kielbasa, la profesora de
Ciencia de las clases altas.

CONTRIBUTIONS
Now that the New Year is here, we would like to remind you that
a year-end statement of contributions is available from the
rectory. Please contact the rectory by phone or email with your
request and provide your envelope number ready as well as your
name and phone number.
BAPTISM
Please call the rectory to make arrangements. All parents and
godparents are required to register for and attend a Baptismal
Preparation session. English Baptisms are on the first Sunday
after the 9.00AM or 12.15PM Mass. Polish Baptisms are on
the second Sunday after the 10.30AM Mass. Spanish
Baptisms are on the third Sunday after the 2:30 PM Mass.
MARRIAGE Call the rectory to make arrangements at least
8 months in advance. Your date will be confirmed at the first
meeting with priest or deacon. Pre-Cana conferences are
required.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK AND COMMUNION
CALLS
Please call the rectory to have a priest come for the sacrament
of the sick. If you have been hospitalized or are homebound
and wish a Minister of Care to bring you Communion, please
call the rectory.

W kazdy czwartek od godz.3.00 PM do godz. 4.00 PM oraz
5:00 PM do godz 6:00 PM
BAUTISMO. Por favor llamar a la rectoria para organizar
bautismo. Los Padres y Padrinos necesitan estar registrados
para classes bautismales. Bautismo son cada tercer domingo a
las 2:30 PM
LAS BODAS. Por favor llamar a la rectoria 8 meses antes de
la boda. Durante la primera reunion con el Padre o Diacono,sera confirmada la fecha de la boda. Necesitan una precana para poder casarse.
SACRAMENTO DE ENFERMOS Y COMUNION. LLamar a la rectoria para desirle al sacerdote que si puede venir.
Si usted esta hospilizado o en la casa y necesita que vaya un
ministro de comunion,por favor llamar a la rectoria.
CONFESIONES. Cada sabado de 4.00 PM a 4.45 PM. Cada
dia despues de misa de 7.OO PM. Cada jueves de 3.OO PM a
4.00 PM y 5:00 PM a 6:00 PM.
