PRATIQUES RECOMMANDÉES POUR LES
PALANS ÉLECTRIQUES ET PNEUMATIQUES
Comme le fabricant n’a aucun contrôle direct sur l’utilisation du palan, le respect des pratiques recommandées est du ressort de
l’opérateur et de l’utilisateur de l’équipement. La norme ANSI/ASME B30.16 a servi de référence lors de la préparation de cette liste de
pratiques À FAIRE et À NE PAS FAIRE lors de l’utilisation du palan. Demandez-en une copie à votre superviseur. Sur chaque copie, les
recommandations sont précédées des symboles MISE EN GARDE ou AVERTISSEMENT, selon la norme ANSI/NEMA Z535.4, afin
d’en identifier le degré d’importance ou de gravité.

NE PAS se servir d’un palan endommagé, qui ne fonctionne pas
adéquatement ou normalement.
NE PAS faire fonctionner le palan sans avoir d’abord lu et compris
les consignes d’utilisation et d’entretien ou les manuels du
fabricant.
NE PAS faire fonctionner le palan s’il a été modifié sans
l’autorisation préalable du fabricant ou s’il n’est pas conforme aux
normes ANSI/AMSE B30.
NE PAS soulever de charge supérieure à la capacité permise.
NE PAS se servir du palan avec une chaîne ou un câble de charge
tordu, noué, endommagé ou usé.

l’enrouler autour de la charge.
NE PAS placer la charge sur le bout du crochet ou sur le linguet de
sécurité.
NE PAS soulever de charge si la chaîne n’est pas bien logée dans
la (les) roue(s) dentée(s) ou le(s) pignon(s) ou si le câble de charge
n’est pas bien logé dans sa (ses) rainure(s).
NE PAS soulever de charge si le roulement empêche de répartir
également la charge sur toutes les chaînes ou tous les câbles de
charge qui supportent la charge.
NE PAS faire fonctionner le palan au-delà des limites de la course
de la chaîne ou du câble de charge.
NE PAS laisser une charge suspendue sans surveillance, à moins
que des précautions spécifiques n’aient été prises.
NE PAS utiliser la chaîne, le câble de charge ou le crochet comme
mise à la terre ou comme câble de masse lors de travail avec
l’électricité ou de la soudure.
NE PAS toucher la chaîne, le câble de charge ou le crochet avec
une électrode de soudure.
NE PAS enlever ou recouvrir les étiquettes de sécurité du palan.
NE PAS utiliser un palan dont les étiquettes de sécurité ou les
autocollants sont manquants ou illisibles.
NE PAS faire fonctionner le palan à moins qu’il n’ait été fixé de
façon sécuritaire à un support adéquat.
NE PAS faire fonctionner le palan avec des élingues ou d’autres
systèmes d’accrochage s’ils ne sont pas de la taille appropriée ou
correctement logés dans le crochet.
Rattraper le mou avec prudence - s’assurer que la charge est en
équilibre et que les systèmes de retenue de la charge fonctionnent
avant de continuer.
Arrêter un palan qui ne fonctionne pas adéquatement ou qui ne
fonctionne pas normalement et faire un rapport.
S’assurer que les interrupteurs de fin de course du palan
fonctionnent correctement.
Aviser le personnel de l’arrivée imminente d’une charge.

Être en équilibre (les pieds solidement en place) ou bien assujetti
lors de l’utilisation du palan.
Vérifier le bon fonctionnement du frein en tendant le palan avant
chaque utilisation.
Employer les linguets de sécurité. Les linguets ne retiennent les
élingues, les chaîne de charge, etc. que lorsqu'ils sont détendus.
S’assurer que les linguets de sécurité sont bien fermés et ne
supportent aucune charge.
S’assurer que la charge ne se balance pas et que rien n’obstrue sa
course.
S’abstenir de faire balancer la charge.
Vérifier que le crochet se dirige dans le même sens que les
indications sur les commandes.
Inspecter le palan régulièrement. Remplacer les pièces
endommagées ou usées et tenir une fiche d’entretien appropriée.
N’utiliser que des pièces de rechange recommandées par le
fabricant pour la réparation du palan.
Lubrifier la chaîne ou le câble de charge en suivant les directives
du fabricant.
NE PAS se servir du limiteur de charge ou du dispositif d’alarme
du palan pour vérifier le poids de la charge.
NE PAS utiliser systématiquement les interrupteurs de fin de
course du palan pour arrêter le palan, sauf si cela est autorisé par le
fabricant. Sinon, ils ne devraient être utilisés que pour les arrêts
d’urgence.
NE PAS se laisser distraire lors de l’utilisation du palan.
NE PAS utiliser le palan de manière inappropriée amenant ce
dernier à heurter avec force d’autres palans, structures ou objets.
NE PAS ajuster ou réparer le palan à moins d’être dûment qualifié
pour effectuer ces ajustements ou réparations.

NO operar el polipasto si está funcionando incorrectamente o de
manera inusual.
NO operar el polipasto antes de haber leído y entendido completamente
las instrucciones o manuales de operación y mantenimiento del
fabricante.
NO operar el polipasto si ha sido modificado sin la aprobación del
fabricante o sin la certificación de conformidad con las normas
ANSI/AMSE B30.
NO levantar más de la carga estipulada para el polipasto.
NO usar polipastos con el cable o cadena de carga torcido, enredado,
dañado o gastado.
NO usar el polipasto para levantar, soportar o transportar personas.
NO levantar cargas sobre personas.
NO operar el polipasto a menos que las personas queden fuera del área
de la carga soportada.
NO operar el polipasto a menos que la carga esté centrada debajo del
mismo.
NO intentar alargar ni reparar el cable o cadena de carga.

pueda formar una línea recta de gancho a gancho en dirección de la

NO usar el cable o cadena de carga como eslinga ni enrollarlos

NO aplicar la carga a la punta del gancho o al seguro del mismo.
NO aplicar la carga a menos que la cadena de carga esté
adecuadamente sentada en la(s) rueda(s) o catalina(s), o el cable esté
debidamente asentado en su(s) ranura(s).
NO aplicar la carga si el cojinete impide repartir equitativamente la
carga entre todas las cadenas de soporte.
NO operar el polipasto más allá del límite de desplazamiento del cable
o cadena de carga.
NO desatienda la carga soportada por el polipasto a menos que tome
precauciones específicas.
NO permitir el uso del cable, de la cadena o del gancho para hacer
contacto eléctrico o tierra para operaciones de soldadura.
NO permitir que el cable, la cadena o el gancho entren en contacto con
un electrodo de soldadura cargado.
NO retirar ni tapar los rótulos de advertencia del polipasto.

Verificar el funcionamiento del freno, tensionando el polipasto, antes
de cada operación de levantamiento o arrastre.
Usar los seguros de los ganchos. Los seguros son para retener eslingas,

Asegurarse de que los seguros de los ganchos estén cerrados sin
soportar ninguna carga.
Asegurarse de que la carga esté libre para moverse y que libre todos los

The 1999 National Electrical Code has a number of paragraphs in it affecting electric chain and wire rope
hoists. Some of these paragraphs are subject to carrying interpretations. Therefore, acting through the
electrical engineering subcommittee of the HMI engineering committee, and with the approval of the HMI
Board of Directors, the Hoist Manufacturers Institute has developed and authorized the publication of the
consensus contained within the pamphlet. It is hoped that the HMI Consensus will be mutually helpful to users,
