SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Baptisms for children take place in Spanish on the first and third
Saturday and third Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm and in English
on the second Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. Parents must register the child at the Rectory at least one month in advance.

All children after the age of five should be registered by their parents into our Religious Education Program which begins every

1:00 PM MASS
Beginning next Sunday, Sept. 19th, the 1:00 pm Mass
will begin at 1:15 pm instead of 1:00 pm to allow more
time after the Spanish mass that is over crowded and
places a delay on the following Mass. Thank you!
SPECIAL MASS FOR THE SICK
In honor of Mother Teresa of Calcutta's Feast Day
and Her 100 Anniversary of her birth, a special
Mass with the Sacrament of Anointing for the Sick
we be celebrated on Saturday, October 9th, at 9:00
am. This Mass will be celebrated bi-lingual. Mother
Teresa has a special care of the sick and we will
ask for her intercession at this Mass.
WORLD YOUTH DAY 2011 IN MADRID
The World Youth Day Festival will take place next
year 2011 with Pope Benedict XVI in Madrid, Spain. It
is our hope to take a group of young people to this
world wide Catholic Event.

Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
GRATITUDE FOR GOD’S CALL
If you were to write a letter to a friend or colleague, would
you make a shopping list of your flaws? Might we all not,
instead, chat about the events of life, our achievements,
perhaps how our stock, or that of our children or others
we know, has risen a bit? In his letter to Timothy, Paul
reinforces the lessons of the scriptures of the past few
Sundays: how we must humble ourselves, how our
strength is in God alone, how we can be strong or exalted
only in Christ. The fact that we are still standing in the
presence of the Lord despite all our shortcomings is a
sign of divine patience. Paul writes to Timothy that gratitude is his response to God’s mercy, to God’s grace and
love poured out in Christ Jesus. Paul is grateful that God
considered him trustworthy to be appointed to his vocation, his ministry to spread the Good News of Jesus
Christ everywhere. In this, we are shown that our own
response to God for whatever vocation God has for chosen us is to be gratitude. And that gratitude ought to refuel us to continue the mission of spreading the Good
News everywhere.

Vigésimo cuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
GRATITUD POR EL LLAMADO DE DIOS
Si te sentaras a escribir una carta a un amigo o colega,
¿sería un largo listado de tus faltas? ¿Por qué no comentar, más bien, sobre los acontecimientos de nuestra vida,
nuestros logros, tal vez cómo nuestra fortuna, nuestros
hijos u otros conocidos, se han vuelto un poco más valiosos? En esta carta a Timoteo, Pablo refuerza las lecciones bíblicas de los domingos pasados: cómo debemos humillarnos, cómo nuestra fuerza es solo Dios,
cómo podemos ser fuertes o ser exaltados únicamente
en Cristo. El hecho de que permanecemos en la presencia del Señor a pesar de nuestras limitaciones es un
signo de la paciencia divina. Pablo escribe a Timoteo
que es con gratitud que se responde a la misericordia de
Dios, a su gracia y amor desbordado en Cristo Jesús.
Pablo da gracias porque Dios lo consideró digno de
confianza para cumplir su vocación, su ministerio de
anunciar la Buena Noticia de Jesucristo en todas partes.
En esto, se nos muestra que nuestra respuesta a
cualquier vocación para la cual Dios nos haya elegido
debe ser la gratitud. Ese agradecimiento nos recarga de
energía para continuar la misión de proclamar la Buena

La Jornada Mundial de la Juventud se llevara a
cabo el proximo ano 2011 en Madrid, Espana, con
el Papa Benedicto XVI. Saldremos el 9 de Agosto y
regresamos el 22 de Agosto. La Peregrinacion
incluye los siguientes lugares: Fatima en Portugal,
Santiago de Compostela, Avila, Toledo, Valladolid

CATECISMO/DOCTRINA
Registración y comienzo de Clases

La Hermana Manuela está registrando de Lunes a
Viernes de 10 am a 12 pm, y de 2 pm a 5 pm en la
Oficina parroquial, y los Domingos de 11 am a 1 pm.
El Programa de Religión comienza el próximo
Domingo 19 de Septiembre con la Misa de 10 am para
los Padre y los Niños, seguido de una Reunión en el
salón de la Escuela. Todos deben de asistir. Las
instrucciones para la Primera Comunión son los
Domingos de 11:15 am a 12:45 PM y para la
Confirmación los Jueves a las 5 pm en Español y los
Viernes a las 5 pm en Inglés. Tambien hay clases
para adultos despues de la Misa de 10:00 am en la
