COME, LORD JESUS
The first reading today may seem somewhat out of place. Doesn’t the ―feast of Stephen‖ evoke
memories of the Christmas season, rather than Easter? But it is most relevant for the days after the
Ascension. Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, stands at his Father’s right hand to welcome Stephen into heaven.
Indeed, that is why Jesus has gone before us—to welcome us into God’s house.
In the second reading the focus on heavenly reward continues: the new day coming with its hope and
expectation. There is also an echo here of Advent, but it is now the fulfillment of those hopes, the
resolution of all questions and difficulties.
John’s Gospel today is part of the section known as the ―high priestly prayer‖ of Jesus. It was his
prayer at the Last Supper as he prepared for his roles as priest and victim. But it is also his prayer as the
glorified and ascended high priest, the giver of glory, the center of faith, and the master of his destiny and
ours.

La primera lectura de hoy puede parecer fuera de lugar. La ―fiesta de Esteban‖ ¿no evoca recuerdos de
Navidad más que de Pascua? Pero tiene más sentido después de la Ascensión. Jesucristo, el Hijo del
Hombre, de pie a la derecha del Padre, da la bienvenida a Esteban en el cielo. Sin duda por eso Jesús nos
precede –para darnos la bienvenida a la casa del Padre.
La segunda lectura continúa refiriéndose a premios celestiales: el nuevo día llega con sus esperanzas y
sus expectativas. Resuena un eco aquí también, del Adviento, pero ahora sobre el cumplimiento de esas
esperanzas, las respuestas a todas las interrogantes y las soluciones a todas las dificultades. El Adviento es
sobre la ―venida‖. La Iglesia ahora reza: ―Ven, Señor Jesús‖.
El Evangelio de Juan hoy es parte de la sección conocida como la ―oración sacerdotal‖ de Jesús. Fue su
oración en la Última Cena cuando se preparaba para su ministerio de sacerdote y de víctima. Pero es
también su oración como sumo sacerdote glorificado y ascendido, dador de gloria, centro de la fe y maestro
de su destino y del nuestro.

XIN CHÚA HÃY ĐẾN
Bài đọc một hôm nay dường như có một chút gì không được đúng chỗ lắm. Ngày lễ kính Thánh
Têphanô mà lại gợi nhớ về mùa Giáng Sinh, thay vì mùa Phục Sinh? Nhưng nó thật thích hợp cho những
ngày sau khi Chúa về Trời. Đức Giêsu Kitô, Con Thiên Chúa, đứng bên hữu Chúa Cha để chào mừng
Thánh Têphanô vào thiên đàng. Thực vậy, đó là lý do tại sao Chúa Giêsu ra đi trước chúng ta, để chào đón
chúng ta vào Nhà Thiên Chúa.
Trong bài đọc hai, sự chú trọng vào phần thưởng thiên đàng vẫn tiếp tục: ngày mới đang đến với niềm
hy vọng và mong chờ của nó. Với những tiếng vọng đâu đây về Mùa Vọng, nhưng bây giờ vẫn là sự viên
mãn của những hy vọng đó, của việc tháo gỡ tất cả những khó khăn và vấn nạn.
Tin mừng Thánh Gioan hôm nay là một phần trong những chương được biết đến như là "lời cầu
nguyện của Thầy Cả Thượng Phẩm Giêsu". Đó là lời cầu nguyện của Người trong Bữa Tiệc Ly như Người
đã chuẩn bị cho cương vị 'một Thầy Cả và một nạn nhân' của Người. Nhưng đó cũng lại chính là lời cầu
nguyện của sự khải hoàn và lên trời của Thầy Cả Thượng Phẩm, Đấng ban phát niềm vinh quang, tâm điểm
của niềm tin, Đấng làm Chủ vận mệnh Người và của cả chúng ta.

2013 Kermés Anual 2013
La planeación para la Kermes Anual de nuestra Parroquia ya está
en proceso. Uno de los eventos recaudadores de fondos es la participación para princesa y reina de la Parroquia. Las edades para
participar son de 5 a 12 para princesa y 13 a 18 años para reina.

Baile de Coronación de la Reina de la Kermés-2013
El Escultor y su Obra
Escultora es la madre e informe arcilla su hijo.
Ser madre es convertirse en modelo del universo a través de
los hijos
Así como el artista elige el mejor modelo y lo plasma sobre el
barro, la madre da forma en el niño a la imagen de sus sueños.
Un buen escultor debe instruirse en su arte antes de lanzarse;
de la misma forma, la madre requerirá de preparación y esfuerzo para convertirse en autora de obras valiosas.
Aquella mujer, que elige el oficio de modelador sin desearlo
hasta sus últimas consecuencias, fracasara. Porque el escultor
ama cada obra que realiza, mas al concluirla debe desprenderse de ella para dejarla vivir su propia existencia.
Si el artista es descuidado, mediocre resultara la obra.
Unas manos que no ajustan firmemente el esqueleto de la
figura, así se empeñe luego en corregirla, habrá construido
sobre bases poco estables.
Quien poseyendo fina arcilla la esculpe con mano blanda y
complaciente, hará una figura burda que para cuando desee
enmendarla, habrá ya fraguado en definitiva.
A soportar el fuego que fija el húmedo barro debe preparar el
escultor a su figura, si no, esta se desmoronara y resquebrajará con el cocimiento.
El artista que teme el porvenir y opta por dejar su escultura
cruda, se compara a la madre que, temerosa de perder al hijo,
Luego de que ha alcanzado este su pleno desarrollo, prefiere
dejarlo inmaduro para que quede a su lado invalido. Mas el
barro que no se cuece, termina por desintegrarse y morir.
Si quieres, pues, modelar el Universo, prepárate a formar obras tales que
sean guías y puntales del porvenir.
Ser madre es modelar el Universo a
través de los hijos.!

Kính chào quý ông bà, anh chị em tín hữu Công Giáo Việt Nam trong
Giáo Phận San Jose,
Một phần tư thế kỷ trước đây, 117 vị Tử Đạo nước Việt Nam đã được tôn
phong hiển thánh vào ngày 19-6-1988. Để ghi nhớ 25 năm biến cố lịch
sử này và mừng Năm Đức Tin, cộng đồng Công Giáo Việt Nam chúng ta
sẽ tổ chức một lễ Kỷ Niệm tại Leavey Center thuộc Santa Clara University vào ngày Chúa nhật 16-6-2013 từ 2:00pm đến 7:00pm.
Lễ Kỷ Niệm bao gồm phần Văn Nghệ cũng như Học Hỏi giúp chúng ta
nhìn ngắm gương sống lòng tin, lòng mến của cha ông anh dũng, và một
Thánh Lễ đại trào tạ ơn Thiên Chúa vì ân phúc đến với chúng ta qua các

36,672 giờ phục dịch, chăm sóc, 975 cá nhân và gia
đình nhận được 5,712 giờ nâng đỡ, an ủi, 3,483 học
sinh được kèm sau giờ học. Xin chân thành cảm ơn sự
rộng rãi của quí vị. Cơ quan Bác Ái Công Giáo xin có
đại diện để thưa chuyện với quí vị vào ngày 18

Hội chợ hằng năm tên gọi KERMES 2013 đang tiến
hành. Một trong các tiết mục của ngày gây quĩ này là
cuộc thi chọn Hoàng hậu và Hoàng tử của giáo xứ.
Điều kiện để dự thi hoàng tử là: tuổi từ 5 đến 12. Và
để dự thi hoàng hậu là: tuổi từ 13 đến 18 tuổi. Nếu

Living Stewardship Now
Today’s readings offer us different reasons to pray:
for the unity of all believers, for Jesus to receive our
spirit at the end of our life, for the ability to forgive any
who have done us harm, and for Jesus to come at the end
of our days with a reward for our good deeds.
La corresponsabilidad vivida ahora
Las lecturas de hoy nos ofrecen diferentes razones para
orar: por la unidad de todos los creyentes, para que Jesús
reciba nuestra espíritu al final de nuestra vida, para poder perdonar a los que nos han hecho daño y para que

Reflecting on God’s Word
Formar comunidad nunca es fácil, ya esté la comunidad compuesta de familiares, ciudadanos o creyentes. La diversidad puede
enriquecer o dividir. A los cristianos judíos pronto se les unieron
los creyentes convertidos del paganismo. A la Iglesia de Jerusalén
se le unió la Iglesia de Antioquía. Mientras que los cristianos de
origen pagano preguntaban si tenían que aceptar todas las tradiciones y costumbres judías, los cristianos judíos temían perder lo
que les había dado su identidad.
Las lecturas de hoy de los Hechos da testimonio del papel que
tuvo el Espíritu Santo para ayudar a navegar a través de todos
esos delicados asuntos. Los líderes de la Iglesia en Jerusalén le
envían una carta a la Iglesia de Antioquía diciendo que la decisión
a la que ellos llegaron no vino de una sabiduría meramente humana, sino de trabajar guiados por el Espíritu Santo.
Tal testimonio sobre el papel del Espíritu Santo también se encuentra en el Evangelio de Juan. En la Última Cena Jesús le dice
a sus discípulos que el Padre les enviará el Espíritu Santo, que
―hará que recuerden lo que yo les he enseñado y le explicará todo‖ (Juan 14, 26). Por esta promesa podemos nosotros tener la
confianza de que Dios no nos abandonará. En efecto, la Santísima
Trinidad habita en aquellos que son fieles a las palabras de Jesús.
Cuando nos reunimos para celebrar la Eucaristía pedimos al Espíritu Santo que abra nuestra mente a las palabras de Jesús, y que
transforme el pan y el vino a fin de que lleguemos a ser con mayor autenticidad el cuerpo de Cristo y el templo vivo del Espíritu
Santo en el mundo.

Cảm Nghiệm Lời Chúa
The late Paul Harvey was famous for his stories on the radio.
He would tell only part of a story, then announce that, after
the commercials, he would be back with ―the rest of the
story.‖ Then he would come back with a surprising or satisfying wrap-up. The word of God reminds us that, no matter
what has already happened in our lives or what will happen
in future days, God will provide us ―the rest of the story.‖
John does not have Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane but at the Last Supper. Jesus prays to the Father for
his disciples and for all who will hear their words about him.
He prays that all may be one. The ending that God has
planned for all who believe in Jesus is that we enter into
unity with Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Today we also witness the end of the story of one of the first
preachers of the gospel, Stephen the deacon. As he was being
stoned, he prayed that the Lord Jesus receive his spirit and
that those stoning him be forgiven. The end of his story on
this earth echoes the final words of Jesus on the cross in
Luke’s Gospel.
Finally, the author of Revelation holds up an image of Jesus
as the beginning and the end of the human story. He will return at the end of time and bring a recompense that he ―will
give to each according to [our] deeds‖ (Revelation 22:12). At
the end, then, is God’s plan for unity, forgiveness, and glory.
And that’s the rest of the story.
Phaolô Harvey đã nổi tiếng về cách kể chuyện của ông trên máy

Giêsu, chúng ta trở nên hiệp nhất với Chúa Giêsu, Chúa Cha, và
Chúa Thánh Thần. Hôm nay chúng ta làm chứng cho kết cuộc
của câu chuyện của người rao giảng Tin Mừng đầu tiên, Phó Tế
Têphanô, Khi bị ném đá, Ngài cầu xin Chúa Giêsu đón nhận
thần khí ngài, và xin tha thứ cho những kẻ ném đá ngài. Kết
cuộc câu chuyện của ngài trên mặt đất này, vang vọng lời cuối
cùng của Chúa Giêsu trên thập giá, trong Tin Mừng thánh Luca.
Sau hết, tác giả sách Khải huyền đặt hình ảnh Chúa Giêsu để

những hành vi của chúng ta" Rồi cuối cùng, là kế hoạch của
Thiên Chúa cho hiệp nhất, thứ tha, và vinh quang. Và đó là
phần còn lại của câu chuyện..
