Pablo Nieto Mercado (México D.F., 1979). Artista multimedia y sonoro. Estudió Metalurgia e Ingeniería en Comunicaciones y Electrónica en el Instituto Politécnico
Nacional (IPN) y Producción de Televisión Educativa en
el Centro de Capacitación Televisiva (CETE) de la Secretaria de Educación Pública. Dedicado a la arquitectura
electrónica y de software, corriente DIY, producción e
improvisación multimedia. A desarrollado apps y piezas
interactivas para CONACULTA, Nike y otros. Ganador del
premio Movistar Iron Geek 2011. Su trabajo audiovisual
ha sido expuesto en festivales y exposiciones en México,
Italia y Colombia. Editado su trabajo sonoro en los netlabels: Melvin R (MEX), Noise Entertaiment (MEX), Paax
(MEX), Torn Flesh Records (USA), Surrism-Phonoethics
(DEU), Plasticrane (ITA), Intox Noise (RUS), WakuShoppu (CZE), Editora du Porto (BRA), Anything Records
(JPA). Además de participar en compilaciones con Mosquito Recordings (MEX), EventNow (GBR),Torn Flesh Records (USA), Audition Records (DEU), Ifar Label (GBR).
Ha presentado su acto de improvisación en directo, en
las Ciudades de México, Puebla, Roma y Praga.
Pablo Nieto Mercado (Mexico DF, 1979). Multimedia

Sera posible que una sola fuerza, la vida quede transformada en energía
de tan diversos ordenes, todo ello por causa de la variada estructura de
los órganos?
El agua como medio de transporte de vida transmuta su estructura física
al recibir el impulso de una fuerza externa, la temperatura como fuerza
modeladora de vida muestra en estado neutro al agua en forma liquida,
en su polarización activa la transformación del liquido se vuelve un conglomerado solido de estructuras cristalinas que dan casa a los pinguinos,
en cambio en su polarización pasiva el agua distiende su estructura física
volviéndose vapor que impulsado por la fuerza del viento recorre la cúpula
del globo en forma de algodón regando con vida a todo lo que le cruza.
La voluntad del hombre actuando como organizador y ejecutante de las
fuerzas primigenias, explora los ciclos de transducción de la energía, en
el desayuno alimenta con energía eléctrica su maquina de café, esta internamente transforma el pulso electromagnético a través de sus órganos
en calor y aire dando por resultado del actuar en conjunto de las fuerzas,
torrentes de aire caliente que expulsan en forma vaporosa el agua derramándose sobre micrófonos de teléfono viejo, emulando el sonido de un
espíritu con cuerpo y mente propia que se desploma en un cambio de
forma perpetuo.

Cuando era niño mi madre y abuela vendían ropa de mujer y a
menudo visitábamos un gran almacén que me parecía enorme.
Toneladas de viejos maniquíes arrumbados en una esquina
mezclado con el olor a tela, plástico y el sonido cacofónico de
la música ambiental aunado al charlar frenético de las damas,
montañas de ropa femenina me servía de escondite, sentir la
textura de la tela, un ritual misterioso de farsa y esperanza.
When he was young my mother and grandmother selling
women’s clothing and often we visited a large warehouse that
it seemed enormous. Tons of old mannequins cast aside in a
corner mixed with the smell of fabric, plastic and cacophonous
sound of ambient music coupled with the frantic chat of the
ladies, mountains womenswear me served as a hiding place,
feel the texture of the fabric, a ritual mysterious farce and hope.
El dueño de este almacén en su tiempo libre tocaba la guitarra y un día pensó que sería bueno dar un
poco de su horrible música a sus clientes y grabó un LP.
The owner of this warehouse in his free time played the
guitar, one day thought it would be good to give some of
their horrid music to their customers and recorded an LP.
Uso para grabar esta pieza aquel viejo LP, haciendo algunos
recortes en el vinilo y rearmado este (muestreo analógico),
para hacer la percusion uso un piezo eléctrico para rascarse zonas con orificios y protuberancias en el vinilo modificado.La cubierta de la original intervino con crayones niño.
Use to record this piece that old LP, doing some cuts on vinyl
and rearmed this (analog sampling), to make percussion use an
piezo electric to scratch areas with holes and bumps in the rearmed LP. The cover its the original intervened with child crayons.

El silencio. ¿Cuál silencio? Es una trampa de la percepción; una de las
más escandalosas. Si la conciencia no existe literalmente, sino que insiste en “aquí” y “entonces”, su presencia está en el tiempo y en el espacio. Pobre tiempo y pobre espacio, a quienes todo les pedimos y rara vez
les otorgamos algo. Todo sucio, todo lleno de nuestras cosas y presos
entres las redes de millares de poemas horribles. Ahí está el ruido. ¿Y el
silencio? Éste podría ser el resultado de todas esas cosas y ese ruido. Un
silencio que no calma, que no proyecta paisajes de paraíso sentado en
un porche de madera y bebe cerveza desde las 12 del día, sino uno que
amenaza, que violenta y endurece al tiempo y al espacio; a la conciencia.
La ciudad de México parece un lugar peligroso para la conciencia.
PPP de Pablo Nieto (México, 1979), hace un recorrido consciente
de este laberinto. El ruido no está aquí y aquí nada se mueve. Pero
se escucha y se mueve más que allá afuera, de donde se alimenta. Aquí adentro, pedaleando y andando, la percepción se descoloca y levanta una inquietante duda: ¿y todo ese silencio que dejaste afuera? ¿Y toda esa calma entumecedora del recorrido de
estas calles? Porque vaya paradoja: lo que es ruido blanco afuera,
en el recorrido virtual tiene volumen, presencia y toda tu atención

The silence. What silence? It’s a trick of perception; one of the most scandalous. If consciousness
exists not literally, but insists “here” and “then” his
presence is in time and space. Poor time and poor
space, who all asked and rarely grant them something. All dirty, all packed up our things and prisoners between their networks of thousands of horrible
poems. There’s the noise. And silence? This could
be the result of all those things and that noise. A
silence that does not calm, they are not planning
landscapes paradise sitting on a wooden porch and

and hardened by time and space; consciousness.
Mexico City seems to consciousness a dangerous
place.
PPP Pablo Nieto (Mexico, 1979), makes a conscious tour of this labyrinth. The noise is not here
and here nothing moves. But you hear and moves
more out there, where it feeds. In here, cycling
and walking, perception disturbs and raises a disturbing question: what all this silence you left out?
And all that numbing calm travel these streets?
Because a paradox: it is white noise outside in the
virtual tour has volume, presence and full attention.

No More Fuking Fans
So Pablo Benjamin made this kind of bizarre short film from one second of footage of his life per hour he was awake for 90
days. I thought some of you might dig it, so here it is along with a couple questions I had for Pablo.
BJM – What was your inspiration to make this document of three months of your life & why is the title “No More Fucking Fans”?
Pablo – Many times people who know some of your crazy things (music, videos, etc.) on the internet create a image of you
based on just such situations that often are only meant to draw attention to some.
BJM – How much video did you shoot compared to how much you used?
Pablo – About 120 hours of video snippets.
BJM – How did the people who appear in it react to the final product?
Pablo – Some of their reactions have been a great smile, a little sad to be drunk dancing, sighs, anger, nervousness. Some are
friends now, some are far from many forms. The video shows a girl who lives far she met her online, a day that I contact some
of my music taste, we began to chat, then we talked everyday at all hours, passing the time until we meet in person in the end
the delusion came to her I was not the type that showed internet.

busca de los seres queridos que ya murieron; trae fotografiás de ellos y mándales un
mensaje.

In this installation you can navigate a maze in search for
loved ones who have died; brings pictures of them and
send them a message.

Los gatos están cansados de callar y lo que quieren
es maullar. Mi-ow es una interfaz sonora tangible
en la que puedes jugar el conocido juego de gato y
hacer música al mismo tiempo.
Los jugadores tienen 5 fichas. Según la casilla y el
angulo donde las pongas, producirán distintos sonidos. Cuando uno de los jugadores forme una linea
con tres fichas ganara la partida.

Cats are tired of silence and what they want is
meowing. Mi-ow is a tangible sound interface,
that can play the popular game of “cat”and make
music together.
Players have 5 chips. According to the box and
the angle where you put, will produce different
sounds. When one of the players form a line with
three chips win the game.

escuchen. Presiona el botón rojo para empezar
a grabar y el botón verde cuando termines. La
palanca y los botones amarillos y azules guardan distintas sorpresas.
