Grandes orquestas
internacionales para abrir 2013
Dos grandes orquestas reconocidas por su máxima calidad a nivel
internacional actuarán a comienzos de 2013 en Oviedo que mantiene
así, pese a la crisis, una programación musical de primer nivel y ya
con un gran prestigio.
El 17 de enero, en el Auditorio Príncipe Felipe, actuará la Orquesta
del Teatro Marinsky de San Petesburgo, que los críticos incluyen en
el “top ten” de las orquestas a nivel mundial… La batuta de la formación rusa la llevará su titular, Valery Gergiev, que además es director
principal de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Londres, decano de la Facultad
estatal de Bellas Artes de San Petesburgo, presidente del comité
organizador del Concurso Internacional Chaikovski, presidente de
honor del Festival de Edimburgo... y que tiene entre otras muchas
distinciones, el título de Artista Mundial de la UNESCO en reconocimiento a su apoyo desde al arte a causas benéficas y a la promoción
de jóvenes talentos.
En la programación musical de estos dos primeros meses del año
destaca así mismo el concierto que en febrero ofrecerá en Oviedo la
Orquesta Sinfónica Alemana de Berlín. Heredera de la gran tradición
sinfónica germana, la Sinfónica Alemana estará dirigida por James
Conlon, director principal de la Ópera de Los Ángeles y que ha dirigido más de doscientas representaciones de ópera en el Metropolitan
de Nueva York.
En música clásica, este 2013 se estrenará con el ya tradicional concierto de Año Nuevo a cargo de a Oviedo Filarmonía dirigida por
su titular, Marzio Conti, en el Campoamor. Orquesta y director actuarán también en el Auditorio el día 12 de enero con el violinista Alexandre Da Costa como solista, y en febrero, con el pianista
Rudolf Buchbinder, el barítono David Menéndez y el Joven Coro de
la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias..
La Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias abrirá 2013 el dia 5
de enero con su Concierto Extraordinario de Reyes, dirigida por su
titular, Rossen Milanov, un concierto en el que la formación asturiana prosigue su “Ciclo Beethoven”.■

Big international orchestras
to open 2013
Two big orchestras that are internationally renowned for their
maximum quality will perform in Oviedo at the start of 2013
and therefore maintain, in spite of the crisis, a first rate musical
programme of great prestige. On the 17th of January, in the Príncipe
Felipe Auditorium, a performance by the Marinsky Theatre Orchestra
from Saint Petersburg, which critics include in the top ten world
ranking orchestras… The Russian formation will be conducted by its
director, Valery Gergiev, who is also the principle conductor of the
London Symphonic Orchestra, dean of the state run Saint Petersburg
Faculty of Fine Arts, president of the organising committee of the
International Tchaikovsky Competition, honorary president of the
Edinburgh Festival... and, amongst many other distinctions, holds
the title of UNESCO Artist for Peace in recognition of his support
through art to charitable causes and the promotion of young talents.
During the musical programme for these first months of the year
we would highlight the February concert that will be offered in
Oviedo by the German Symphony Orchestra of Berlin. Heir to the
great German symphony tradition, the German Symphonic will be
conducted by James Conlon, principle conductor of the Los Angeles
Opera and who has also conducted over two hundred opera performances in the New York Metropolitan.
In classical music, 2013 will start with the traditional New Year’s
concert given by the Oviedo Philharmonic conducted by its leader,
Marzio Conti, in the Campoamor. Orchestra and conductor will also
perform in the Auditorium on the 12th of January along with the violinist Alexandre Da Costa as soloist, and in February, with the pianist
Rudolf Buchbinder, the baritone David Menéndez and the Prince of
Asturias Foundation Youth Choir..
The Principality of Asturias Symphonic Orchestra will open 2013 on
the 5th of January with its Extraordinary Concert for the Kings (The
Three Wise Men), conducted by its leader, Rossen Milanov, a concert in which the Asturian formation continues with its “Beethoven
Season”.■

Teatro Campoamor: acaba la
opera, empieza la danza
En los dos primeros meses del año, el escenario del Teatro
Campoamor acogerá el último título de la Temporada de Opera con
la representación del “Don Carlo, uno de los grandes títulos de Verdi,
el compositor parmesano del que se cumple en 2013 el bicentenario
de su nacimiento.
Tras la ópera, en el Teatro Campoamor, comienza el Festival de
Danza que se inicia con la actuación del prestigioso coreógrafo y
bailarín Ángel Corella que traerá a Oviedo su Barcelona Ballet.
El Festival de Danza amplía este año sus horizontes e incluirá un programa de ceración alternativa y un ciclo de cine relacionado con el baile.
El Auditorio, en febrero y por gestión de la Sociedad Ovetense de
Festejos (SOF), ofrecerá el musical “Azabache” de gira para celebrar
el 20 aniversario del homenaje a la copla que esta producción supuso
en su creación para la Exposición Universal de Sevilla. Cuatro jóvenes estrellas (Pasión Vega, Diana Navarro, Pastora Soler y Manuel
Lombo) serán los encargados de interpretar las canciones del género artístico que forma parte el patrimonio cultural español.
La Orquesta Sinfónica de Alfaraje, dirigida por José Miguel Évora
será la base del musical en el que los artistas repasarán algunas
de las canciones más populares de la copla: “Suspiros de España”,
“Ojos verdes”, Tatuaje”, “María de la O”...
También en el Auditorio y de la mano de la Red española de Juderías,
Caminos de Sefarad, de la que Oviedo forma parte, se ofrecerá la exposición de fotografías “Auschwitz-Birkenau, una mirada al pasado”,
sobre los campos de concentración nazis, en recuerdo y homenaje a
las víctimas del holocausto.■

Campoamor Theatre: the opera
ends, the dance begins
During the first two months of the year the Campoamor Theatre
stage will hold the last event in the Opera Season with the performance of “Don Carlo”, one of Verdi’s greatest, and with 2013 celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of the Parmesan composer.
After the opera, the Campoamor Theatre will start the Dance Festival
with the performance of the prestigious choreographer and dancer
Ángel Corella who will bring his Barcelona Ballet to Oviedo.
This year the Dance Festival opens up its horizons and will include a programme of alternative creation and cinema sessions related to dancing.
The Auditorium, in February and managed by the Oviedo Festive
Society (SOF), will offer the musical “Azabache” on tour to celebrate
the 20th anniversary of the homage to copla which was created for
the Seville Universal Exposition. Four young stars (Pasión Vega,
Diana Navarro, Pastora Soler and Manuel Lombo) will be in charge of performing songs from this artistic genre that forms parts of
Spanish cultural heritage.
The Alfaraje Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by José Miguel Évora,
will be the base for the musical in which artists will perform some of
the most popular copla songs: “Suspiros de España”, “Ojos verdes”,
Tatuaje”, “María de la O”...
Also in the Auditorium and led by the Spanish Jewry Network, Roads
to Sefarad (homeland), which Oviedo belongs to, there will be an
exposition of photographs entitled “Auschwitz-Birkenau, a look at
the past”, about Nazi concentration camps, in remembrance and in
homage to the victims of the Holocaust.■

no de los objetivos prioritarios del Museo de Bellas Artes
de Asturias es promover el acceso de los asturianos y de
los visitantes que cada año dan respaldo a su tarea, al conocimiento y disfrute del arte en sus diversas manifestaciones.
Para el nuevo año, el programa Educación en el Museo 20122013 está integrado por una variada selección de talleres,
experiencias y recorridos didácticos adaptados a distintos
niveles cognitivos.
En enero comienzan las actividades para Escolares, que se desarrollarán durante todo el semestre:
Del 8 al 31 de enero, de martes a jueves (salvo día no lectivo), dos
sesiones por día, de 90 min. de duración cada una para disfrutar la
Experiencia didáctica:¡Vaya pelos!
Del 5 al 28 de febrero, de martes a jueves (salvo día no lectivo). Dos
sesiones por día, de 90 min. Para la Experiencia didáctica:Pasaporte
del Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias.
Asimismo, todos los sábados de enero y febrero se desarrolla la actividad “Sábados en el Museo”, dirigido al público infantil y juvenil,
entre 4 y 12 años, con talleres adaptados a distintas franjas de edad.

Museum of fine arts,
for all tastes.
One of the main goals at the Asturias Museum of Fine Arts is
to promote the access, to Asturians and all those visitors who
every year support and give meaning to our daily work, to the
awareness and enjoyment of art in its different manifestations.
For the coming year, the Museum 2012-2013 Education
programme will integrate a selection of workshops, experiences
and didactical itineraries adapted to different cognitive levels.
Activities for School children will start in January and will continue
throughout the first term:
From the 8th to the 31st of January, from Tuesday to Thursday (except
non-school days) two sessions per day lasting 90 minutes each to enjoy
the didactical Experience: ¡Vaya pelos! (look at that hair!)
From the 5th to the 28th of February, from Tuesday to Thursday (except
non-school days), two sessions per day lasting 90 minutes each for the
didactical Experience: Passport to the Asturias Museum of Fine Arts.
Likewise, every Saturday in January and February, there will be an
activity called “Saturdays in the Museum”, aimed at children and
youngsters between 4 and 12 years old, with workshops suited to the
different age groups.

A lo largo de todo el año, el Museo realiza un Programa para colectivos con necesidades especiales, que se realiza en colaboración con
"Sexto Sentido Cultura Accesible" para hacer accesible para todos el
disfrute y conocimiento del Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias y que
sus actividades educativas lleguen al mayor número de colectivos,
especialmente a aquellos que debido a alguna discapacidad podrían encontrar difícil el acceso a la institución.
Durante enero y febrero se realizan Visitas guiadas con audiodescripción para personas con discapacidad visual, etc con
intérprete de Lengua de Signos, para personas mayores, etc,
dedicadas a temas diversos como Fiestas y tradiciones en la
pintura del Museo, la Asturias de principios del siglo XX….
Para el público adulto, la participación en las Visitas Monográficas y
de Un domingo, dos Cuadros, es necesario inscribirse previamente.
Visitas Monográficas:
Dedicada a todo tipo de público adulto, la actividad consistirá en
una visita guiada temática en la que, a través de unas 6-8 obras de la
colección, se analizará un aspecto destacado dentro de la Historia
del Arte y de Asturias.
(Miércoles, a las 18.30 h. Duración aproximada, 1 hora. Con reserva previa).

Throughout the year the Museum carries out a Programme for collectives
with special needs, which are carried out in collaboration with “Sexto
Sentido Cultura Accesible” ( Sixth Sense Cultural Access) so that
everyone can get access to the enjoyment and art awareness offered
by the Asturias Museum of Fine Arts and so that all of its educational
activities reach as many collectives as possible, especially those who,
due to some disability, could find access to the institution difficult.
During January and February there will be guided Visits with
audio-descriptions for people with visual impairment, with a Sign
Language interpreter for the elderly, dedicated to various themes
like Fiestas and Traditions in the Museum’s paintings, Asturias at the
start of the XX century….
For adults, participation in the “Monographic Visits” One Sunday,
two Paintings”; previous inscription required.
Monographic Visits:
Aimed at all types of adult public, the activity consists of a guided
theme visit in which, through some 6-8 works from the collection, we
will analyse outstanding aspects within the History of Art and Asturias.
