Dear parish family of Saint Clement,
Christ is Risen!
We made it through our 40-day journey. Do you remember the simple survey I gave
you on the First Sunday of Lent? I asked you to fill it out and then I would run it
again on Easter Sunday so you can see your progress. Here it is:
HOW WOULD YOU RATE, RIGHT NOW YOUR RELATION WITH GOD: Father, Son and
Holy Spirit? From 1 - 10, with One being the lowest and Ten being the highest, what
score would you give to your rela onship?

All during Lent, I wrote to you about developing a daily prayer me. In next week’s
Bulle n, I will sum up those teachings in a one-page insert. THANKS for all those who
are seriously working on their rela onship with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
through a daily prayer me!!!!
I would like to begin at Saint Clement an ancient custom beginning on Easter Sunday
and going through Pentecost: when I say to you: CHRIST IS RISEN! You would respond: Indeed He is Risen. For centuries, Catholics would greet each other with
these words instead of Good morning or Good evening, during the 50 days of Easter.
The Strawberry Fes val is over and what a Fes val it was! A great BIG thanks, to
ALL who were involved this year, in our: “Make Your Own Strawberry Shortcake
Ministry”. I am mighty proud of you!!!! Rick Smith told me, he wants to return
again next year! How about you????

pondría en el bole n de Pascua para que pudieran ver su progreso. Aquí esta:

Durante toda la Cuaresma, les escribí sobre desarrollar empo para la oración diaria. En el bole n del próximo fin de semana, voy a resumir esas enseñanzas en un
folleto. GRACIAS a todos aquellos que están trabajando seriamente en su relación
con Dios, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, a través de la oración diariamente.
Me gustaría empezar en San Clemente una an gua costumbre que comienza el
Domingo de Pascua hasta Pentecostés. Cuando yo les diga: ¡CRISTO HA RESUCITADO! Usted responderán: ¡En verdad ha Resucitado! Durante siglos los Católicos se
saludaban con estas palabras en lugar de buenos días o buenas noches, durante los
50 días de Pascua.
¡¡¡El Fes val de la Fresa a terminado y que Fes val fue!!! Les doy las GRACIAS a
TODOS los que estuvieron involucrados este año, en nuestro: Ministerio de “Has
tu Proprio” Pastel de Fresa. ¡¡Estoy muy orgulloso de ustedes!! ¡Rick Smith me
dijo que quiere regresar el próximo año! ¿Que tal ustedes?

On April 20, 2000, His Holiness John Paul II, in
response to the wishes of the Chris an faithful, declared
that “the Second Sunday of Easter henceforth throughout
the Church will also be called Divine Mercy Sunday” (cf.
Homily: 30 April 2002 and Decree: Congrega on for Worship). The desire for this celebra on was expressed by our
Lord to St. Faus na, and can be found recorded in her Diary:

fuera en adelante declarado para toda la Iglesia como el

El deseo para la celebración fue expresado por Nuestro
Señor a Santa Faus na, y se puede encontrar grabado en
su Diario:
...My daughter, tell the whole world about my inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and
shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On
that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I
pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who
approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to
confession,* and receive Holy Communion [on this day]
**shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishments.
“… Mi hija: habla a todo el mundo sobre mi inconcebible
misericordia. Deseo que la Fiesta de la Misericordia sea
refugio y protección para todas las almas, especialmente
