young, dynamic and committed team. Craftsmanship is one of our most important values.
All our luminaries are manufactured in Spain,
taking care of all details. Manual processes allow us to create unique pieces. All our creations
are made of high quality materials such as solid
wood, Pyrex borosilicate glass, fiberglass or silk.

del trabajo de un equipo dinámico,
entusiasta y comprometido. La artesanía es nuestro principal valor. Nuestras
luminarias se fabrican en España de
forma manual, cuidando hasta el último
detalle. Los procesos manuales de
elaboración nos permiten crear piezas
únicas. Todas nuestras creaciones están
elaboradas con materiales de alta calidad como la madera maciza, el Pyrex, la
fibra de vidrio o la seda.

et engagé. L’artisanat est une valeur très
importante pour nous. Nos luminaires
sont fabriqués en Espagne, jusqu’au

Wakufu is a family inspired by eastern
culture, the art of origami. The shade,
reminiscent of a kimono, projects a dim,
even light, without seams or shadows. An
icon intended to give a touch of informality to contract spaces. It incorporates an
adjustable plate SMD LED.
Wakufu es una familia inspirada en la
cultura oriental, en el arte del origami.
Su pantalla, que recuerda a un kimono,
proyecta una luz tenue y uniforme, sin
costuras ni sombras. Un icono que
pretende dar una pincelada de informalidad a los espacios contract. Incorpora
una placa de LED SMD regulable.
Wakufu est une famille inspiré par
la culture orientale, l'art de l'origami.
L'abat-jour, qui rappelle un kimono,
jette une lumière subtile et uniforme,
sans coutures ni ombres. Une icône qui
a pour de donner une touche d'informalité à des espaces contrat. Il intègre une
plaque réglable LED SMD.

Tango is inspired by the search of closeness between object and person, as it bends over us to
accompany us in our reading, helps us withdraw
and offers a more pleasant space in our homes.
The screen, the axis that runs through it and the
light are the only protagonists.
Tango está inspirada en la búsqueda
de la proximidad entre el objeto y la
persona, se inclina sobre nosotros para
acompañarnos en nuestras lecturas, para
recogernos y ofrecernos un espacio más
agradable en nuestro hogar. La pantalla,
el eje que la atraviesa y la luz son los
únicos protagonistas.
Tango s’inspirer de la recherche de
proximité entre l’objet et la personne,
il s’incline sur nous pour nous accompagner dans nos lectures, pour nous
accueillir et nous offrir un espace
agréable chez nous. L’écran, l’axe qui

Q.: Tango is your creation for Dresslight. A perfect series for hotels thanks to the functionality and comfort
it offers. Tell us a little about the creative process.
With the Tango family, we aim to bring the lamp to the
user, bring it closer.
The idea came from analysing the interaction between
lampshade and user, and we wanted to represent this
relationship graphically.

Q.: What can you tell us about Wakufu?
Wakufu was born of Dresslight's relationship with fabrics and the world of fashion.
We use the "classic - modern" fashion of Eastern culture as a reference.
Q.: Wakufu has a very strong, highly aesthetic presence,
a very original design. How did the idea come about?
And how did the creative process progress?
Like I said before, we delved deeply into fashion and
we took Eastern haute couture designers as a reference. From there, we started drawing free and expressive
forms which would represent the conceptual values we
intended. Without imposing any technical limitations of
any kind on ourselves, we came to the present form of
Wakufu.
Q.: What would you highlight in this creation?
The whole collection, all the elements integrated with
each other, forming an iconographic concept.
Q.: What are the ingredients that you consider most
important for achieving a unique design?
The first is not to feel pressure to get a great design.
Work hard and enjoy what you do. If after that you get
a great design, perfect. Sometimes you create a great
design that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It's
all relative.
Q.: How would you define the Tango series?
Tango is a lamp which seems simple. However, that
simplicity is surprising thanks to its exquisite details.
Q.: This is a design with a fairly timeless character, isn't
that right?
Yes, we haven't tried to follow any fashion, just solve a
problem.

rustic materials like solid wood and exclusive materials such as handmade Pyrex
glass. This original and modern ceiling
lamp with a strong personality is available in 3 sizes and 2 finishes that adapt to
the needs of each room.

Q.: Let's talk about your latest creation for Dresslight:
Hanoi.
Hanoi is a very spontaneous piece intended as a decorative support light, but mainly for illumination at low
heights.
It's a wall lamp which comes from experimenting with
materials such as folded paper and processed wood.

Q.: Tell us a little about the creative process.
Let's say that the creative process in this case consisted of three parts. The drawing or sketch in the first
phase to reach the general idea. In a second phase, we
experimented with paper, how we could fold it and the
development of it once it was folded.
The third phase was the final choice of materials and
finishes to get to the final product.
Q.: What could you tell us about your Dresslight
creations, Etna and Hanoi. Do they have something in
common?
Etna and Hanoi came through two different processes and also with different final intentions. Etna was
born from the complex investigation about the way to
mix up different materials as wood and glass. Wood
is clearly the main protagonist in Etna, but in Hanoi
it is only an additional element that refines the final
product. Etna is a sculptural piece; and Hanoi is a very
functional piece. Actually, they are quite different.
Q.: Tell us about Etna. It is a very aesthetic piece, isn’t
it?
Etna is a sculptural piece. Each part of ETNA is unique
because is made of natural wood. Moreover, each of
these pieces of wood is enveloped by blown Pyrex
glass which protects it and makes it more magnificent.
It’s true, Etna is a design of contrasts, very stylized.

rings and SWAROVSKI square-cut crystals positioned in a circular structure. Inspired by the PADAUNG ‘giraffe’ women
who use glass beads to lengthen their necks.

We are always looking for innovation
keeping our warmth, the collective imagination which makes our products more
human. The user’s emotional experience
guides us to solve specific problems. With
our products, we want to keep telling the
story and provide innovation and answers to a world still full of questions.

Q.: How did you arrive at the first idea for the final model? Tell us a little about the creative process.
It wasn't a very complex process. We were fascinated
by existing forms in other cultures. We went looking
for a symbol of beauty. Padaung is the name of a tribe
in which women wear rings on their necks to highlight
their beauty. We often work with a variety of creative
methods. Throughout all of these, we carry out a comprehensive study of the markets and trends, and let our
imaginations fly.
Q.: How would you define "Padaung"?
Padaung is a chameleon light fixture. Depending on
the location, it can play a major role within a neutral
environment, or stay in the background if the décor is
more striking. We see it as a 21st-century version of a
chandelier.
"It is the only Swarovski piece in the collection, which turns
it into a unique piece."
Q.: How do you see this new design in connection with
the rest of the Dresslight collection?
Padaung, like the rest of the catalogue, has simple lines
and neutral colours, black and white. However, it is the
only Swarovski piece in the collection, which turns it
into a unique piece.
Ingenuity when it comes to the design is very important. Putting to one side our pre-conceived ideas. We
are a society which is polluted with excess information.
To create something pure, sometimes, we play with
shapes and trends.
Q.: How did you meet the DL design requirements?
We face each new project as a challenge. It's like when
you do a jigsaw with thousands of pieces and they all
have to fit. We really focused on research, it is important to be well informed before submitting a proposal.
In this way, we can 100% trust our designs.
Q.: Padaung is a design with a complex appearance
but what would you say was the main challenge in the
design process?
The briefing for this design was quite detailed. Few
technical and costing aspects were left up to the interpretation of the designer, a fact which helped when
it came to the design. The most complicated thing
was launching to two types of market as diverse as the
traditional public and those looking for a more modern
appearance.
Q.: What do you propose to Dresslight? What are your
next goals?
Our proposal to Dresslight is to widen the Padaung
family. In fact, it is something that we are already working together. We want this design to be used in other
places in the house and even reach other markets.

A luminaire with fluid and harmonious
shapes that synthesises beauty and comfort
in surprising ways. Fabric created on a
polyamide tulle base with small, laser-cut
flower petals wich create plays of reflection with the light, simulating a carpet of
gems.
Una luminaria de formas fluidas y armónicas que sintetiza belleza y confort
de manera sorprendente. Tejido creado
sobre una base de tul de poliamida decorada con pequeños pétalos de flor, recortados previamente a láser, que crean
juegos de reflejos con la luz simulando
una alfombra de gemas.
C’est une lampe aux formes fluides et
harmoniques qui synthétise la beauté
ainsi que le confort de manière surprenante. Ce tissu est fabriqué sur une
base de tulle en polyamide décoré avec
de petits pétales de fleurs qui ont été
préalablement découpés au laser et qui
créent des jeux de reflets avec la lumière,
simulant un tapis de gemmes.

intimacy. A velvet fabric distinguished by
its pleasant texture, as well as the shine effects and reflections it acquires in the light.
This bouillon velvet fabric is characterized
by its relief effect that gives it consistency
and quality.

ha convertido en nuestro emblema, la

Q.: Kubrick was your first creation. How do you remember it?
It was fantastic! Genuine! Our client wanted something
big, baroque and post-modern. We wanted something
warm but also powerful. We was looking to fill a large
space with elegance, and wanted it to be something
which would break rules. It conveyed its emotion to us
and we felt it.
Q.: What has been the biggest challenge for Dresslight
since its creation?
Making a place for ourselves in the high-end light fixtures market represented by consolidated, renowned
brands.
Q.: Where did the idea come from?
I remember the idea of breaking rules was on our
minds. I don't know why, but suddenly we thought
about the films of Stanley Kubrick. From Spartacus,
through Clockwork Orange, 2001: A Space Odyssey,
until his finals film, Eyes Wide Shut, Kubrick was an
innovative, risky and transgressive artist who inspired us
to create this fixture.
Q.: You said that Kubrick is a mini masterpiece. In what
sense?
It is a handmade and delicate piece. It mixes precious
silks with blown glass. Every inch of this light fixture

Q.: Éter, Buran, Glop, Coffee… You have created several
designs working with blown glass. Tell us a bit how this
material, the difficulties it presents, what surprised you
most about it...
The greatest virtue of this material is doesn't conduct heat, and that it is transparent and extraordinarily
strong. The greatest difficulty lies in working on large
sizes because it is difficult to obtain the necessary equipment in the production process.
Q.: Tell us a little about the history of the brand from
the perspective of someone who experiences it intensely every day.
It began as a project which was intimately connected
with fashion and haute couture. We wanted to dress
light fixtures up with haute couture fabrics used by the
most prestigious designers in the world. We use fabrics
that were paraded on catwalks with brands such as Dior,
Prada... Later, we began to collaborate with designers
that allowed us to start creating our own style beyond
the material. However, its national, handmade crafting
is in the DNA of the brand as an essential element of
any proposal.
Q.: What does design means for Dresslight? How was
the brand design team set up?
DL is based on the openness of its proposal. Quality
materials, craftsmanship and unique creations. Every
design we do is unique in itself.
Q.: Is there any technique or material that you haven't
yet tried and which you would like to experiment with?
A lot (laughs). In terms of creation and the use of technology, everything is to be seen!
Q.: Any challenge you would still like for Dresslight?
A Red Dot Award, of course.

The Eolo model lends originality to any large room;
its design features a zigzag structure.
Zefiro. This item has a defined classical style, but
its two piece shape endows it with a creative and
original touch.
Mistral. The wavy effect of this type of crystal together with its hand-made waviness creates a piece
unique in its shape.
El modelo eolo aporta originalidad a
cualquier estancia, su diseño cuenta con
una estructura en zig zag.
Zefiro. Esta pieza tiene un marcado
estilo clásico pero su forma a dos piezas
le da un toque original y creativo.
Mistral. El efecto ondulado de este tipo
de cristal unido a su modulación manual
crea una pieza única en sus formas.
