TODAY’S READINGS First Reading — Never forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of slavery (Deuteronomy 8:2-3, 14b-16a). Psalm — Praise the Lord, Jerusalem (Psalm 147). Second Reading — Because the loaf of bread is one, we who partake of it, though we are many, are one body (1 Corinthians 10:16-17). Gospel — Jesus said, “I am the living bread; whoever eats this bread will live forever” (John 6:51-58). Stewardship Reflection for June 22, THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST Among the compelling EucharisƟc themes proclaimed in today’s readings is the noƟon of “parƟcipaƟon” as found in Saint Paul’s leƩer to the Corinthians. Good stewards are part of a EucharisƟc family: loving, welcoming, serving. An important part of living as a steward comes about in the many ways we can parƟcipate in the life of the Church. No maƩer how much Ɵme we have to give, no maƩer what our skills or interests, no maƩer what our level of commitment, there is a way to parƟcipate as a good steward to enrich our lives and the lives of others to build up the Body of Christ.
