A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT
As we draw close to the Feast of the Nativity, we hear the
great stewardship proclamation twice in today’s second reading
from the Letter to the Hebrews: “Behold, I come to do your
will, O God!” Who is this Jesus? Who are we that we should
follow him? Many want him as a friend, a guide, a king, an
advocate. Jesus reveals the nature of God, the servant sent to
give us new life in God’s house. Take time to ponder these
questions: Do we have the courage to follow Jesus? Do we
reflect God’s nature in our daily life? Are we able to say with
confidence: “Behold, I come to do your will?”

Before using the yellow pages, newspapers, etc. please be sure to patronize and
thank our bulletin sponsors every time you utilize their services by leaving a copy
of the bulletin with them so that they know that advertising on the

Mass Intentions–2016 Mass Book Open—Starting December 20
The celebration of the Eucharist is the highest form of worship in the Catholic
Church because we unite ourselves with Christ's sacrifice on the cross in worship
of his Father.
The faithful may request Mass(es) to be celebrated for a specific intention, for the
living or the dead.
 To request a Mass Intention at Saint William during the 2016 year, please
visit the Saint William church office.
 Due to the size of our parish, Mass Intentions are limited to 3 per family per
year, scheduled on non-consecutive times or dates. (2 weekday and 1
weekend)
Mass Intentions not at Saint William
Additionally, many of our parishioners have found that the Seraphic Mass Association - Capuchin Mission is an excellent place to request multiple Mass intentions. The Seraphic Mass Association - Capuchin Mission Office can schedule
Mass intention requests with Capuchin Franciscan Friars throughout the
world. To request Mass Intentions through the Seraphic Mass Association, call 1877-737-9050 (toll free) or visit the Seraphic Mass Association - Capuchin Mission website at http://www.seraphicmass.org/cards_info.asp About the Capuchin
Mission - For nearly 500 years, Capuchin Franciscan Friars have been called to
mission. The Friars have served in foreign lands since the Order was started in
1528. Preaching on almost every continent of the globe, the Capuchins are daily
witnesses to the sharing of God’s Word and His love, even to the ends of the
earth. Your offering also serves as a means of support for their life and ministry.

Saint Vincent’s Corner
Jesus was born during the night of the year when darkness is the longest. The Savior of the world comes for the
people in dark places. The real, lasting, and deep joy is that the Light shines there.
Through your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, “Light” has shown, bringing real, lasting and
deep joy to the hearts of the poor who live in dark places in our streets and neighborhood. For more
information about the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, please visit www.svdprr.org.
Marriage - Why God's Design
Jesus was born in a family; he began to work his signs at the wedding of Cana and he announced the meaning
of marriage as the fullness of revelation that restores the original divine plan (Mt 19:3). The Church has always
recognized the existence of true, natural marriage between two unbaptized persons. Since the beginning of
humanity such an alliance between a man and a woman has corresponded to the creative plan of God, and was
blessed (Gen 1:27-28).

CATHOLIC SOCIAL
TEACHING
Especially appropriate for these days of
suffering in our nation is the responsorial
psalm for the Fourth Sunday of Advent, “O
God, restore us; light up your face and we
shall be saved” (cf. Psalm 80).
In a world that is becoming increasingly
secular, not only must we invoke the
remembrances of the mighty deeds of God
as we implore his intervention to save the
world, but also must we remember to bring
about the plan of salvation through the
work of our own hands.
Let us be Christ for one another.
