donate funds for turkeys and pies: boxes of stuffing mix, canned green beans, corn,
yams, chicken broth, cranberry sauce and onions. Volunteers are also needed to cook
and deliver.

One of the world's earliest romantic ballets, "La Sylphide" is a gripping tale of a
young man who loses his heart on his wedding day to a beautiful and mysterious
spirit. He leaves his betrothed at the altar to pursue this celestial being, only to
encounter tragedy and heartbreak when he finally catches the elusive spirit.

A School Break Solution
Winter Break Trips
December 26, 27 and 30
On Fairfax County Public Schools' teacher work days, 5th-9th
graders can join the Old Firehouse Teen Center (OFTC) on funfilled day trips! These trips depart from and return to OFTC,
which is located at 1440 Chain Bridge Road. Participants must
bring clothes appropriate for the day's activity. A signed OFTC
participant contract is required. Some trips also require a signed
waiver.

Holiday Tour 2013
Harrisburg, Hershey and Hanover, Pennsylvania
Tuesday, Dec. 10, 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
$135 per person/$130 MCC district residents
This year's McLean Traveler holiday tour is to the state of
Pennsylvania. The first stop is at the State Capitol Building in
Harrisburg, designed in 1902 in the Beaux-Arts Renaissance
style. Next will be the Governor's Residence, which was built in
1966. Here, Governor Tom Corbett and First Lady Susan will have
their lovely home decorated for the holidays, paying special tribute
to the many cultures that make up their state. Lunch will be in the
newly redecorated The Circular dining room in the historic Hershey Hotel. This grand hotel is a
historical landmark and an elegant jewel nestled in the rolling hills of Hershey. The last stop of the
day will be at the Warehime-Myers Mansion in Hanover. This 1911 decorative arts mansion, the
former home of Hanover Shoe Company owner Clinton N. Myers, will be festively adorned for the
holidays.

juried show featuring fiber arts, wood, ceramics, pottery, jewelry and much more! Watch this video

One of our featured crafters, Marie-Helen Grabman, is a master paper cutter and silhouette

Exhibit Space & Sponsorships Available
High-visibility exhibit spaces and sponsorships are available that will get
your name, product or service out to more than 10,000 patrons at McLean
Day 2014. Show your community spirit! Contact the Center to find out how
your organization can participate. Spaces are already selling quickly to tax
district residents and busineses, so act now before you miss out!
Exhibitor applications are available on the Center's website. The early bird
discount of $25 off the booth space fee is available to tax district residents
until Monday, Feb. 3. There is a new application this year for those who
wish to have costumed characters or mascots at their booths.

Thanksgiving Day Holiday
McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will be closed
on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29, for the Thanksgiving Day
holiday. The centers will reopen at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.
