Peter’s Pence 2016
Next week, our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence
Collection, which provides Pope Francis with the funds he
needs to carry out his charitable works around the world.
The proceeds benefit our brothers and sisters on the margins
of society, including victims of war, oppression, and
disasters. Join our Holy Father as a witness of charity to
those who are suffering.
Parish Advisory Council Openings
Would you like to be involved in deciding the pastoral
matters pertaining to the life of the parish? Does consulting
with the clergy concerning the needs of your fellow parishioners have an appeal to you? Then the Parish Advisory
Council would be for you! We are a committee that serves
Christ & His Church by advising the clergy on the temporal
and spiritual affairs of the parish. There will be positions

Venerate the Relics of St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher
Celebrate the lives of two saints who exemplified courage and conviction in the face of persecution. Ss. Thomas More and
John Fisher were prominent 16th century Englishmen who were martyred for standing up for their faith. Their witness
provides a courageous example of how to proclaim the truth boldly in the face of threats to religious liberty. Be inspired by
their lives and ask their intercession for our country during the Fortnight for Freedom!
Mass with Bishop Olmsted will be celebrated on Thursday, June 30 at 12pm at St. Mary’s Basilica. Relics of the saints
will be available for veneration at St. Mary’s Basilica following Mass from 1-4pm and at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral from
6-8pm.
