Voters who have moved or have not received a current certificate are urged to confirm or update their registration by contacting the Tax Office at 713-368-8683 in a timely manner. Note: College students may register and vote using either their family home address or their residence address at school. Voting Information On Election Day each voter must vote in the precinct of record. Photo ID or a current voter registration certificate is required. Let your representatives know your views by card, letter, fax or e-mail. The proper salutations for government representatives can be found on page 7. They have countywide jurisdiction to serve papers for suits involving debt or divorce, foreclosure, eviction writs and 31 court summons. They also issue criminal warrants through justice of the peace courts and provide bailiffs for those courts.
