L
The Tortuga Post soit disponible
tion we can no longer oppose
and therefore have given the
authorization asked of us. Our
thanks to the Polish Brothers
who have had the courtesy to ask
the question.
This has however required us to
modify the way we do business.
In order to best protect the personal information of our Brothers, the following has been decided:
1.The Directory and its updates
will no longer be published in
TTP.
Merci de votre compréhension !

THE TORTUGA POST
I
Fratelli polacchi hanno posto
alla redazione un quesito
molto interessante: siete
d’accordo che The Tortuga Post
sia disponibile su Maritime
Digital Library? Questa domanda
è stata ovviamente oggetto di una
profonda riflessione all’interno
della redazione.
Cercando “The Tortuga Post” su
Google si ottengono più di 2500
risultati in meno di un secondo.
E’ come affermare che il nostro
bollettino, che si trova ormai su
tutti i siti della Fratellanza, è
quasi di dominio pubblico. E’
dunque un’evoluzione alla quale
non ci si può più opporre.
Pertanto abbiamo dato
l’autorizzazione che ci è stata
richiesta. Ringraziamo con
l’occasione i Fratelli polacchi per
aver avuto la cortesia di porre la
questione!
Questo fatto, però, ci porta a
modificare la nostra linea di
condotta. Per proteggere al
meglio i dati personali dei nostri
Fratelli è stato deciso quanto
segue:
1. La Directory ed i suoi
aggiornamenti non saranno più
pubblicati su TTP.
2. Questi documenti, considerati
come dati sensibili, verranno
distribuiti in modo separato ed
indicati chiaramente come
confidenziali. Saranno pubblicati
solo sul sito di Secoin Yahoo
Group. Sarà per contro vietato
metterli in qualunque altro modo
su Internet, anche se fossero
prese specifiche precauzioni al
riguardo. Il formato pdf, che noi
pensiamo sicuro, può essere
accuratamente esaminato dagli
attuali metodi di ricerca su
Internet. Anche le pagine protette
con password non sono al riparo!
3. La redazione prenderà le
misure adeguate per la protezione
dei propri dati. Le informazioni
pubblicate a pagina 8
appariranno dunque per
l’ultima volta.
Grazie per
comprensione.

na interesante pregunta
acaba de ser hecha al
editor por los Hermanos
polacos: ¿Podríamos dar nuestro
consentimiento para permitir que
el Tortuga Post, sea incluido en
su Biblioteca Marítima digital?
Esta pregunta naturalmente nos
ha dado la oportunidad, para
una discusión intensa dentro del
equipo editor.
Sera permitido solamente
que sean publicados en el sitio
de SECOIN Yahoo Groups. No

CINQUE PORTS
The Confederation of Cinque
Ports is an historic group of
coastal towns in Kent and
Sussex, originally formed by
Royal Charter in 1155 for
military and trade purposes. The
name originated in Norman
French, meaning "five ports"
(although it is pronounced "sink"
ports, not the French cinq). The
original confederation members
are Hastings, New Romney,
Hythe, Dover and Sandwich.
The five ports are supported by
the two so-called "Antient
Towns" of Rye and Winchelsea
whose councils traditionally
maintained defence contingents
for the realm of England.
In addition there are seven other
members of the Confederation,
which were considered to be
Limbs of the other towns: Lydd
(Limb of New Romney),
Folkestone (Limb of Dover),
Faversham (Limb of Dover),
Margate (Limb of Dover), Deal
(Limb of Sandwich), Ramsgate
(Limb of Sandwich), Tenterden
(Limb of Rye).
There are no less than 23 other
towns, villages and offices with
varying degrees of connection to
the ancient Liberties of the
Cinque Ports – it was once very
important to be a member of this
illustrious organisation!

CHILE:
Zafarrancho Aniversario 60
HERMANDAD DE LA COSTA
Con gran entusiasmo, Piquetes de Hermanos y
Cautivas que cruzaron océanos y continentes,
llegaron hasta Santiago y sus alrededores para
participar en esta conmemoración, es así que
estuvieron tripulaciones de, Inglaterra, Bélgica,
Alemania, Italia, Uruguay, Angola, Holanda;
cautivante cautiva Verónica, junto a Hermanos y
Buenos condumios, abundante
pólvora, junto a canticos y mucha camaradería,
Santiago, entregaron valiosos y hermosos

Chiricuto y otras altas autoridades navales.
Hermanos Pedro «Caletero» Merino; Edmundo

THE TORTUGA POST
He was a fine man, a sailor to his
marrow, an accomplished writer,
a good businessman, a true Ulsterman and an Irishman, a great
companion and raconteur who
enjoyed the company of the Freres de la Cote and was happy to
lead the charge. He will be sadly
missed but has left a strong Table
in his wake.
We think of his wife Joan, his son
Bruce, and his cousin and our
Frere Stephen. Ar dheis De go
raibh a nanam dilis. This weekend
(June 10) the Northern Table assembles on the island of InisMurray, the site of a well preserved
early Christian Monastery for
their Boucan - and an Orza to
Wallace !
