Her silky sound, her clear refined playing is singing on top of the orchestra without loosing the contact with the accompaniment behind her. Her sound production is crystal-clear. The Allegro is stable like a temple of music, beautifully balanced in architecture: Brave well-considered playing of the orchestra covered with both colorful soloistic fireworks and stilly intimacy. The Larghetto is full of warm, subdued shades, on top of which the violin sings rarely and purely. The whole second movement puts the listener into a promising, light spring day, which organically develops into a warm summer, the Rondo (….). Saeijs interferes joyfully in the dance with light staccato. In her last cadenza Frederieke Saeijs emphasizes once more her light-footed and inner passion (…)” Review on January 30th 2006 by Bela Luttmer in newspaper the ‘Telegraaf’ of a performance of Adagio in E major and Rondo in C major by Mozart by violinist Frederieke Saeijs with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under Christoph Poppen on January 28 th 2006: ‘Frederieke Saeijs moves in Rotterdam’ “Frederieke Saeijs found an ideal partner in Poppen for her intimate, unearthly pure interpretation of the Adagio K 261 and the Rondo K 373. The violinist, who won the First Grand Prize and four extra prizes during the renowned Long-Thibaud competition in Paris, is a remarkable asset to the concert stages with her honest and unembellished playing”. Review by Nippon Paper Group of the Gala Performance of the Thibaud Competition in Suntory Hall, Tokyo on 23 February 2006 (Violin concerto of Alban Berg together with New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra under Junichi Hirokami): “Grand Prize winner Ms Frederieke Saeijs (…) delivered a show that was full of youth and passion (…) and is set to make an impact on the international stage”. ‘Brilliant violin-piano duo’ “The international competition Marguerite Long- Jacques Thibaud is one of the most important competitions in the world, thanks to the excellent level of its candidates. On Monday evening the winner of the competition in 2005 Frederieke Saeijs has showed all aspects of her talent as a violinist in the Palais de l’Europe, accompanied by her compatriot Maurice Lammerts van Bueren- a brilliant pianist and prize winner at many competitions. The two young musicians gave a superb interpretation of sonatas by Beethoven , Saint-Saens and Schumann.” “The Gala performance 2006: A great moment of music” “Frederieke Saeijs finished the first half of the concert with the liveliness that one would imagine. The young Dutch violinist managed to give spirit and meaning to the first concerto of Bruch.” “Frederieke Saeijs instantly transmitted her stage presence, her charisma and her expressive choices in the concerto no.1 for violin by Bruch.” Review by Michael Tumelty in the Glasgow Herald of a performance of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto by violinist Frederieke Saeijs with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra conducted by Neeme Jarvi on 16 December 2006: “Young Dutch violinist Frederieke Saeijs gave a fine account of Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto”.
