LEADERS MEETING
On February 17, 2016, the
Parish Leaders got together to discuss and plan new
goals for the upcoming
year, 2015-2016. How
should we coordinate our
goals? How can all Parish groups (Liturgy, Social Justice, Finance, Youth etc…).be focused on
a common message? Our goals were to reflect
on the following:
• How is SJV responding to our Pope Francis’
Year of Mercy Call?
• Where do we want to grow? Building on
2015-16 programs (which were focused on
bringing stability to the Parish). Growth can
be community, services, funds, etc.
• How do we insure all voices are heard appropriately by our leaders? (We need to
reach everyone.)
• What steps can we take to implement a
shared management model for our Community?
The 35 Leaders were divided into groups and
each group discussed a specific topic and came
up with a brainstorm of ideas. These ideas were
then narrowed down to 3 to 5 per group. All the
groups were gathered to share their ideas and
some very common themes were loud and clear:
1. Communication: We need to be better at
getting the word out to other leaders, parishioners and anyone else willing to listen
about what is going on. Also, we need to
invite people to come along for a journey of
volunteerism. And follow that up with a
relationship of mentoring and guidance. We
need to reach out to all people, not only
those we think will respond.
2. Involve more people, more groups and hold

una nueva meta para el
año venidero 2015-2016.
¿Cómo coordinaríamos nuestras metas? ¿De qué
modo todos los grupos de la Parroquia (Liturgia,
Justicia Social, Finanzas, Jóvenes, etc…).se
pueden enfocar en un solo mensaje? Nuestras
metas se reflejaron en lo siguiente:
¿De qué manera San Juan Vianney está respondiendo al llamado del Papa Francisco en el Año de la Misericordia?
¿En qué área queremos crecer? Construyendo
en Programas 2015-16 (los cuales estaban enfocados en traer estabilidad a la
Parroquia). Crece puede ser comunidad,
servicios, fondos, etc.
¿Cómo nos podemos asegurar que todas
nuestra voces sean oídas apropiadamente
por nuestros líderes? (Necesitamos alcanzar a todos)
¿Qué pasos podemos tomar para implementar
un modelo de dirección compartida para
nuestra Comunidad?
Los 35 Líderes fueron divididos en pequeños
grupos y cada grupo discutió un tema específico
y salieron muchas ideas. Estas ideas se redujeron
a 3 o 5 por grupo. Todos los grupos se juntaron
para compartir sus ideas y algunos temas muy
comunes se escucharon fuerte y claro:
1. Comunicación: Necesitamos mejorarnos en
pasar las noticias a otros líderes, feligreses y
a cualquier persona que quiera saber lo que
está pasando. También, necesitamos invitar a
gente a que se envuelvan como voluntarios
(as). Y seguir con una relación de tutoría y

talked about community masses,
Jazz on the Grass, Bi-lingual celebrations, Bible studies for all ages
etc…
We all walked away inspired but also
with a new job to do! We will continue
on this journey and hope to include all
of you in some special way!

meeting in early May, then set plans for
future work in helping our homeless
brothers and sisters.

Theme: : He is risen! Believe it !
Scripture: Then Jesus told him, "Because you
have seen me, you have believed; blessed are
those who have not seen and yet have believed." John 20:29
On the evening of the first Sunday after Jesus was
crucified, his disciples were together in a locked room. They
were afraid that those who had crucified Jesus would also want
to put them to death. Suddenly, Jesus appeared there in the
locked room with the disciples. It was hard for the disciples to
believe, but they saw him and Jesus showed them the wounds
in his hands and his side, so they knew it was him.
One of the disciples, whose name was Thomas, was
not with the others when Jesus appeared to them. When they
told Thomas that they had seen Jesus, he did not believe them.
He had seen Jesus crucified and buried, how could he be alive?
Thomas said, "Unless I see the wound in his side and
put my finger in the holes where the nails were in his
hands, I will not believe it!"
A week later, the disciples were in the locked room
again and this time Thomas was with them. Again, Jesus came
and stood among the disciples. Jesus, said to Thomas, "Put
your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it
into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
La Iglesia católica es universal, extendida en diversas naciones y culturas. A través de los siglos estas
culturas han enriquecido la Tradición de la Iglesia con
muchas tradiciones y devociones que van más allá de
su cultura de origen. La fiesta de la Divina Misericordia es un buen ejemplo. Viene de una devoción que
nació en Polonia con la Hermana Faustina Kowalska
(1905-1938) canonizada en el 2000.
La devoción a la Divina Misericordia se celebra el
Segundo Domingo de Pascua y durante todo el año
orando la Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia. En latinoamérica se ha ido extendiendo esta devoción desde
1978 cuando fue aprobada por el Papa Paulo VI. En
todas partes se puede encontrar la imagen de la Divina
Misericordia, Jesús de pie con rayos rojos y blancoazules que brillan desde su corazón hacia el mundo.
Lleva el lema: Jesús, confío en ti.
La finalidad de esta devoción es recordar al pecador que la misericordia de Dios es infinita e inagotable. Es una misericordia que debemos imitar para que
la paz pueda reinar en nuestros corazones y en nuestra
tierra.

UNIRSE A LA COMUNIDAD DE CREYENTES
¿Qué te ayudará a tener fe? Las lecturas bíblicas
de hoy hablan de la fe y de la duda. Se
“escribieron… para que ustedes crean”, como nos
dice hoy el pasaje del Evangelio de san Juan (20:31).
Tiene esto una cierta urgencia. En este Segundo Domingo de Pascua se nos lanza un desafío a unirnos a
la comunidad de creyentes –un sinnúmero de hombres y mujeres que dan testimonio del poder de la fe
de los Apóstoles.
No hay duda que este poder viene de Jesucristo.
La segunda lectura, del libro del Apocalipsis, relata
la visión mística de Juan sobre el Hijo del Hombre,
el cual proclama: “Estuve muerto y de nuevo soy el
que vive” (Apocalipsis 1:18). El Evangelio reúne a
todos excepto a Tomás para ver a Jesús resucitado y
recibir de él el Espíritu Santo. Al igual que Tomás,
los que hemos llegado más tarde debemos tener fe
para poder tener vida.

Todos estan envitados a participar en una discusión
en grupo sobre “La alegria del Evangelio”, del Papa
Francisco; Comenzando Abril 6, a las 6:30pm en la
iglesia.
