The Cultural and Racial Apprecia on commi ee has invited a number of religious women to join us this year to honor them for their work in raising awareness of the dignity of human life from womb to tomb. As this Tuesday marks the 40th anniversary of two of the most destruc ve and disastrous decisions of the United States Supreme Court, namely Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which legalized abor on throughout pregnancy; I would like to encourage you to par cipate in a very special webcast at 3pm on Tuesday that is billed as a very special “hour of prayer” sponsored by the Na onal Pro-Life Religious Council. Go to www.rememberingroe.com or www.priestsforlife.org for more informa on on how to get involved in the pro-life effort. The coverage of the pro-life rallies in Washington will probably be helpful to your faith if you tune to EWTN. On a more local level the Tampa Bay Celebra on of Life Rally will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Suncoast Cathedral in St. Petersburg. It is located at 2300 62nd Ave. No. and very easy to get to from I-275. My classmate, Msgr. Robert Morris, the Vicar General of the Diocese of St. Petersburg will be a special guest speaker at this ecumenical event that will include the Grammy Award winning music of Kevin Lewis of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. This event is designed to gather approximately 2,000 Chris ans to be Inspired, Challenged and United to speak up for the unborn and protect the family. There will be Na onal & Local speakers, Workshops, Informa on about New Legisla on, a Youth track with Special Music & Speakers and more. Friday evening the doors open at 5pm and the event begins at 6:30pm and the day begins on Saturday at 8:30am, includes a free luncheon with John Stemberger, president of the Florida Family Policy Council and concludes at 2:00pm. If you are kicking yourself because you missed the Abby Johnson talk at Na vity on Saturday 1/19 at 6:00pm then you don’t want to miss the Tampa Bay Celebra on of Life Rally. For more informa on see www.tampabayprolife.org. Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr. Thomas J.
