Nutrition Supplement January 2016 Making a Change! Cucumber Roll Ups Ingredients: 1 large cucumber, sliced thin Deli meat 1‐1/2 cups low‐fat Greek yogurt (can replace with cream cheese or hummus) 1 tomato, sliced thin Tooth picks Direc ons: Slice cucumber length wise. Lay cucumber slices out flat and spread 1/2 tbsp of cream cheese, hummus, or Greek yogurt on each slice. Add one slice of deli meat and tomato to each cucumber. Roll cucumber and insert toothpick to hold. Enjoy! (Makes 10‐12 rolls) Start the new year off right by making changes for a healthier 2016. How can this be done? First decide what you would like to change in the new year. It can be anything from ea ng more fruits and vegetables to ge ng more exercise. Once you have decided what you would like to change, it is me to set some goals. Keep in mind, goals need to be specific and realis c. Here are a few ideas to get you started. Exercise more Walk for 30 minutes 2 days a week. Choose two days out of the week to walk around your neighborhood, local park, or anywhere with a big open space and pathway! Take the stair instead of elevator 3 days per week. By taking the stairs, you can get to your des na on and exercise at the same me. Eat more vegetables Buy 2 new vegetables at the next grocery shopping trip. You can do a lot with your new vegetables, including grilling, steaming, or even sautéing them. Eat vegetables as a snack 3 days per week. Replace those chips and soda with a healthier alterna ve. Ea ng vegetables as a snack will not only promote a healthier lifestyle, but also let you chew on something delicious as you work! Improve sleep hygiene Go to bed the same me each night. Rollitos de pepino Ingredientes: Un pepino grande, en rebanadas delgadas Un po de carne fría 1 ½ tazas de yogur griego sin grasa (lo puede reemplazar con queso crema o pasta de garbanzo, hummus) Un tomate en rebanadas delgadas Palillos Preparación: Corte el pepino en rebanadas a lo largo.
