D
esde otra estrella caen gotas de plata. Se respira el cambio de
fronteras, de la humedad al viento, del viento a las raíces.
Algo sordo, profundo, trabaja bajo la tierra almacenando
sueños…”. Neruda le canta al otoño. Al igual que hacen otros tantos autores
con sus versos, sus narraciones, sus ilustraciones o cualquier tipo de expresión artística que evoca la llegada de esta nueva estación.
No cabe duda de que el otoño despierta la sensibilidad del artista. Sugiere sentimientos, emociones y toda una simbología propia de una época de
cambio. En palabras de Luis María Cifuentes, presidente de la Sociedad
Española de Profesores de Filosofía, “su simbolismo fue reafirmado con
fuerza por el movimiento romántico, que era proclive a proyectar en la naturaleza un sentimiento de melancolía y tristeza”.
Siempre ha representado una etapa de ocaso, de declive del verano,
del calor y, en general, de la vida. Se trata de una actitud melancólica
inherente a la sensibilidad humana que no debe entenderse desde
lo negativo, sino como una parte del ser humano tan profunda, operativa y necesaria como otras actitudes enérgicas. Así lo cree Julia Barella,

UN PAISAJE DE CAMBIO
Las expresiones artísticas inspiradas por la naturaleza
quedan lejos de entenderse como un hecho aislado o una
tendencia temporal. Hay buenos ejemplos a lo largo de la
historia, pues los autores clásicos siempre se han dejado
llevar por la correspondencia entre emociones y paisaje.
Se trata de un tema especialmente recurrente en la literatura occidental, en aquellos países donde se suceden las
cuatro estaciones. Son lugares en los que se vive toda una
gama de cambios a nivel de color y de temperatura que
estimulan y despiertan la sensibilidad de cualquier artista.
En el campo de la pintura hay quienes incluso decidieron salir de sus talleres al entender que del diálogo directo entre el artista y la naturaleza podrían derivar expresiones pictóricas más completas.
Los primeros en mostrar una decidida voluntad de pintar ante la naturaleza fueron Camille Corot, Jean-François
Millet, Théodore o Rousseau, entre otros. Tomaron nota
de ello los impresionistas y tantos otros, hasta hoy, que
han visto en la realidad la base para una expresión más
autoritaria de su lenguaje.

and, among other items, they were presented with customised aprons bearing their names.
TECHNOLOGY FOR IMPROVED SERVICES
Technology plays an important role in Starwood hotels
when it comes to further customizing services and meeting the needs of travellers. Over two years ago the SPG
iPad and smartphone app was launched (to find hotels,
make reservations, obtain further information on destinations...); last May we launched the new SPG app for

de Madrid, destaca que estos pintores asentaron sus premisas plásticas en las estaciones: “Cualquiera de ellas les ofertaba la posibilidad de atenerse a los aspectos cromáticos
más variados y en la exaltación que manifiestamente se
produce en alguna de ellas, como es el caso del otoño”.
Hoy en día los artistas siguen trabajando con los estímulos que les proporciona la naturaleza. Así lo concibe
Javier Chavarría, artista plástico, escenógrafo y profesor
universitario: “Las acciones del otoño se ligan a preparar
el invierno, lo que nos evoca el almacenaje. También veo
una metáfora interesante en la regeneración. Sobre esta
fuerza de la naturaleza y su capacidad regeneradora citaría a Olafur Eliasson. Sus estructuras evocan la compleja
capacidad para ordenarse espacialmente”. Inspirado por
esta peculiar estación, la entiende como aquella que nos
hace volver a la rutina, evaluar nuestros excesos y devolver, en su caso, la tranquilidad del taller en un impasse
entre estaciones extremas: “Me produce calma. Me gusta
recuperar las rutinas y tener tiempo para digerir los estímulos de los viajes del verano. Disfruto de una naturaleza
que se transforma”, concluye Chavarría.
Esta vuelta a la rutina devuelve momentos inspiradores
no solo para los artistas, sino para cualquiera, como impulsos inherentes a nuestro ser. Nos ofrece un cambio especial lleno de una gran verdad. Así que de buen agrado,
demos la bienvenida al otoño y qué mejor forma de hacerlo que con los versos de otro poeta inspirado, Juan Ramón
Jiménez: “En una decadencia de hermosura, la vida se
desnuda, y resplandece la excelsitud de su verdad divina”.
